About the artist and why this picture was chosen for the daily picture:

Nominated mostly for the colouring and the background, this piece by [Neko Rulz] certainly has a number of charming qualities that make it a great picture. It was inspired by, as so many things are, role playing sessions, ones that particularly involved many elves, including these two, the sorceress Amor, as well as Aramil. The detail in the shading is what particularly impresses me in this piece, as well as the lighting effects created in depicting the green light at the sorceress' hand. The colours are so vibrant and the scene so enchanting that you can't help but want to know so much more about these two characters. Unfortunately, that information was left a mystery for us to solve on our own.
