Ever wanted to design your own hat? Well, now's your chance! In this contest we want you to design your very own headgear.

Please read the [#RULES] before entering!

Rules:

1. No stolen art! Hats must have been designed by YOU.
As much as you like the hat you found on google, we want hats designed by you. Referencing is fine.

2. Maximum TWO (2) entries per person.

3. No pictures of someone else's design.
The picture must be of the hat YOU designed. If you designed a hat for your friend, then you can submit that.

4. Fan hats ARE allowed.
We will accept hats based on anything from Ceiling Cat to Cthulhu as well as hats based on entirely original ideas.

5. A photo of a hat doesn't count.
Making hats is cool, but this contest is about designing them! If you want to submit a photo of a hat you made see the Design a Hat Craft Competition. The hat you enter there can be the same as the hat you've designed for this section of the competition.

6. Entry must be uploaded to Elftown.
To upload your image full-size you can use the feature 'Upload a folder of images' that is shown on your house.
This feature allows you to upload one, multiple images or zip-files in their original size to a wikipage.

7. Vote-Mongering.
Asking people to vote for you is not allowed. You may ask people to vote in the poll in general, but not specifically for you.

8. Queries.
If you wish to discuss something about how the contest is run, or the rules, then please use the official contest forum: <forum:Elftown contests>! If you wish to bring up a query about whether a certain entry fits the theme, please speak up before the entries make it to the polls. You can still speak up even after the contest is closed, as long as the polls have not yet gone up yet. Complaints received after the aforementioned will not be considered valid. However, if you wish to query whether an entry is stolen art or breaks any other rules, you may still bring this up after the poll has been made.

2011-04-29 [Chimes]: Unless you plan on making it for the craft part too it can be as fantastical and as impossible as you like... so long as it's a hat. :P Wearable is preferable though... otherwise it defeats the hat idea :P

2011-05-02 [Chimes]: So long as we can clearly see the hat you can draw someone wearing it. :) But the hat should be the focus of the piece. :)
