Unicorn Friends

Well, hmmm as this is a bit unusual, in that there really is no significant manipulation, other than a bit of collage, the primary work being rather to set up the 3D model, make use of a setting in secondlife and then compositite an RL photo with a secondlife photo, I suspect this belongs in mixed media. Its a lot more of a collage than anything else. Life can get confusing with all the media possibilities.

Any way. Dear little Tina, sitting in Tir na Lir, where the Guild Hall, and my office by the by are at the Isle of Wyrms, along with a Lone Star Ranch Valentine Palimino Unicorn. Quite amazing, not just the possibilities of the virtual worlds, but that Tina has clothes on. {Smile}

When the Dreamer is the Dream


In the spirit light stirs, behind the guise of sleep. A whisper of pine and moss, the hemlock’s soft green arcs over the wood.

Comes to those that hold the old magick in their souls the touch of fairy lights, and the forest Muse speaks through their dance and word.

Dreams speak to use in symbols and shadow, in lights and fleeting image. Yet when can we know, are we the dreamer, or are we the dream.

Given are many visions, some of darkness, some of light, some of peace and some of strife. These are the heady draft that fills the artist’s soul and flows onto the canvas of their lives. It moves us and drives us, consuming our lives to burn so bright. A light, a scream, a touch of the unseen, but always it speaks to all that will listen, that will see with eyes uncovered.

Many are the muses of the world, if only we open ourselves to their touch, to both the ecstasy and the pain, the blinding light and the soft darkness. The depths and the dizzying cliffs of inspiration.

Ask yourself now and again. Are you the Dreamer? Or are you the Dream?

How many worlds do I hold in my hand? How many lives have I touched along the way? Did I bring joy? Did I bring pain? Have I been a friend, or a lover, a teacher, or a muse? Did I anger? Did I cause fear? Was I kind? Or was I uncaring? Or was I simply naive?

The past is beyond my reach. the future not yet formed. Maybe the journey is yet very far, or perhaps, it ends around the corner. None of us can know. But what I can do, each day, each night, is try to be a friend, a teacher, an example, a little light, a soft voice.

We are in the end, only the memories and the experiences that we have gathered. Yet, more, we are the touch of a hand, a heart, a spirit willing to listen, to be silent, to be a warm moment in a time of need. Or, at least, we can be. We can choose. Its not our talents or our skills, its not our gifts or our accomplishments. Its our choices that make us what we are.

How many worlds do I hold in my hand?

As many as I can imagine. As many as every person I talked to, walked with, laughed or cried with. As many as I choose for there to be. I can choose to be sad, and sometimes that's what is needed, to morn, to weep, to shed tears for those that have passed, and those I have harmed. Be it through my own thoughtlessness or my own blindness. I can choose to listen to the wind in the trees and walk along in the night, open to the life twittering around me and I can smile, knowing that the little people are still out there, the spirits still live in the trees, the dancing still happens under the fairy hills. I do not create, I only interpret, express, and try to show you the unseen, that I see, to shed a little light in all those worlds I hold in my hand, just to show you my dreams... This is the role of an artist, and a medicine walker. To show the unseen, to share, yet keep sacred the spirits of the ancestors. To help us all to find our invisible selves and bring light into the dark places of our own hearts.

Solar Lunar ImBalance
Completed at last, yet in my own madness, I am now working on a companion piece that will feature my friend and fellow artist Annalee who is brilliant at design and a fabulous nude model.

Oh, and sorry about the watermark, but I do not want anyone ripping out the solar fairy and making tubes or tags out of it. It would set off a terrible legal situation. The lady is very very good at protecting her interests. :)

I started out on this thing at the request of fellow on Elftown for something to celebrate a major solar eclipse that will take place on March 29th, and will go all the way from Brazil, across the Atlantic, up across africa, and ends up somewhere in Mongolia. That is rather an amazing total eclipse.

Anyhow, in my world, such a major event means that sacred ritual and intentions that are presented to spirit during this time is going to have an impact way beyond anything that might normally be expected, and the equatorial crossing point is going to be particularly amazing in my opinion. Something to think about if you are really interested in world peace or self healing or anything particularly spiritual in your journey. Do remember that the times are UNIVERSAL time, and you will have to adjust for your local times.

"Fiona - A Fairy Bound"

Beware the arrogance of man that tries to bind the fairy nature. It may be that for a little while your illusions of magick will prevail,
But soon enough your powers will fade and the anger of a wounded fae is truly terrible to behold. Treat her with the utmost respect and awe, or you may find that you have only captured your own doom. The fae are not to be trifled with and the greed of your heart will bring danger close. It is not a little female that you hold, though your senses may say otherwise, but a pure force of nature and one of the great Powers of the world, that wears the form you try and bind. Better that you walk into the deep dark sea, never to return to this life, then to try and hold a fae against her will.
