EOD HALL 1ST
The hallway retains nothing of the charm it had when Xavier mansion was a lavish manor. Hardwood floors, plastered and delicately carved moldings and oak window frames have been replaced by a large, spartan hallway of white tile floors and white painted concrete walls, every now and then a window lets in a meager amount of sunlight and reveals how impossibly thick the walls have become.
X-Men EoD Time
Wednesday, August 13th
Lire stepped out of her room and closed the door firmly behind her. Her eyes swept the hall searching for others before she continued down the stark hallway and to the
EoD Mess Hall.
Nathan made his way from his room, and turned with precision, heading directly for the
EoD Mess Hall.
Elizabeth exited her room, carrying Ivan on her hip, as he made rawring sounds and hit his two toys together between his hands. Reaching out her free hand, she let them both into
EoD Mess Hall.
A few moments after his wife had emerged, son in tow,
Vlad ducked his head out of ROOM 105, as the black placard informed. Looking at the only ray of sunlight that managed to peak onto the garishly white floor, Vlad blinked and then proceeded, unsmiling, to
EoD Mess Hall.
Rubbing her eyes,
Catherine skulked into hall, still stretching, hearing the popping of bones. She continued eating her crisps as she entered the
EOD Mess Hall, looking for something maybe more filling.
Katie made her way out of her room and into the hallway, still half asleep and yawning. She shuffled through the hall, heading in to the
EoD Mess Hall.
Too long had the 'mansion' been different, but
Vlad still hated to see it in this state, so militarized and sterile. It felt normal now, but the normality was unwelcome every now and then when Vlad
really noticed the changes and wondered to himself what Professor Xavier would say if he could see things now. Of course, Vlad had stopped listening to those mental speculations long ago. If he had paid heed to all of them, he would have cracked long ago under the pressure of trying to save a world that hated him
and trying fight a front of mutants who wanted him and all of his family - except for his sister - dead, and had already seen to it. The MLA...riddled with old friends who now plotted his death... His strong, square chin set in his customary stoic frown as he pushed the elevator button and then took it to
EoD Complex Hall.
Catherine wasn't in a hurry to get anywhere, where was there to go? Nevertheless, her pace was quick as he headed toward the
EoD Foyer.
Endelyn came out of her room, looking tired but ready to go. She adjusted her collar as she headed out into the
EoD Mess Hall, knowing exactly what she needed to wake up.
Lire stepped into the hallway and glanced around. She shook her hands as she walked down to the
EoD Complex Hall, she felt so tense that she almost swore the air around her hummed.
Stepping out of the mess hall, not that far behind Lire,
Elizabeth and Ivan returned to
EoD Dormitory 105.
Walking back from the mess hall,
Nathan made his way quickly back to his room so that he could gather the rest of his uniform and get ready for what ever was about to come his way. He stepped up to his dorm door, and popped it open, stepping in to
EoD Dormitory 107.
Catherine rushed straight to the
EoD Mess Hall, moving through the hall in a flash.
The elevators arrived and
Vlad practically made a cork-popping sound as he emerged, ducking out of it. Clearly a man on a mission, Vlad's bearded face remained long and unsmiling as he marched into
EoD Foyer.
Arriving in the hall with some newfound energy,
Catherine was jogging on the spot as she waited for her fellow teammate to catch up.
Endelyn came out of the mess hall at a leisurely pace, not wanting to jog or anything of the sort. She looked at Catherine jogging in place and raised a brow, but said nothing of it. "Alright, let's go." She said as she headed to
EoD Complex Hall.
Catherine followed after Endelyn, trying to slow her pace as she realised how odd she must have looked, especially seeing the face her teammate had pulled. She tried to act casual as she walked to the
EoD Complex Hall.
Stepping out of their rooms,
Elizabeth let a squirming Ivan out of her arms, putting him down on the ground with his ball. Grabbing it between his two hands, he raced forward towards
EoD Foyer, she quickly behind him so he wouldn't get too far ahead of her.
Nathan headed quickly through the hall, and in to the
EoD Complex Hall.
Returning from the foyer,
Elizabeth led Ivan back into
EoD Dormitory 105, reappearing shortly afterwards in full uniform and with a little brightly coloured backpack on Ivan's back. They entered into
EoD Mess Hall. She returned shortly afterwards, alone, to head down to
EoD Complex Hall. Once again she passed back through the hallway, again returning to her room.
Lire emerged from the complex hallway and made her way down to the
EoD Dormitory 103. She was lost in thought; both about the mission she was set to set out on for the X-Men and the one Glint had given her.
If things had been the way they used to be,
Endelyn would have joked with Lire about following her. Things weren't the same however, and Endelyn continued on her way into
EoD Dormitory 104, thinking about the mission as well.
Elizabeth stepped back into the hallway to wait on her team.
Lire stepped out of her room and saw Elizabeth; she half waved as she approached her.
Endelyn came out of her own room shortly after and walked over to the other two women. She remained silent, but did manage a small smile to both Elizabeth and Lire.
Acknowledging the two with a nod,
Elizabeth shifted her shoulders so the overly large arms of the hoodie she wore slipped down to partly cover her claws. "This isn't going to be an easy mission, considering such paranoid times, unless the MLA are burning their brains out down there, and I don't want to have to rely on them having stupid guards on duty. Lets just ask around and try not to draw too much attention to ourselves by doing so." While she would prefer to stay out of sight, she didn't like the idea of risking the two women in a situation she herself wouldn't get into.
Lire's answering smile at Elizabeth's words was scary. She stuck her hand in her hoodie pockets; reaching through the fabric to caress the hilt of one of her knives hidden amongst the fabric. "When are we leaving?" She asked.
Endelyn looked at Lire with a raised brow. Somethings you would think Endelyn would be used to by now, but seeing Lire smile was not one of them. She had listened to Elizabeth carefully and was ready to get going as well, but it wasn't something to be enjoyed. This was her job, and she took it seriously.
Elizabeth gave no signs of emotion to Lire's smile. She knew what the girl was good at, and while it was required, she question if Xavier would approve of their current actions. He was against the idea of killing, but in times like this, it was necessary. God knows Elizabeth herself had blood on her hands, but she just concentrated on the belief it was all to help her son's future, not that she was ending another person's life. "I would rather get transport part of the way there, than go completely on foot, but we will have to make sure it is well out of range so not to give ourselves away." That might be easier said than done, depending on the attitude of the humans towards them taking a vehicle. "Lets start with the civilian population when there. It's the extremists we want information on, not the general MLA members. Word of mouth might have gotten around the camp enough for us to scrape some news together into something helpful. You get someone who's getting suspicious, try and act casual and walk away. Better to try another target than get attention placed on us." As for the time to leave. "I would rather get this out of the way and back, especially if the other team will be out of the mansion as well. I don't trust these humans to be able to stop this place falling to dust if a situation arises." Her tone was more than a little bitter towards the other occupants of Xavier's.
Lire competely ignored Endelyn's expression. She was well aware of what the other X-Men thought of her bloodthirsty nature and she chose to ignore it, instead of acting upon her annoyance. She nodded in agreement to Elizabeth's words however and felt the faint bitter taste of poison on her tongue as it oozed out in anticipation of the mission. "Well... lets see if we can get a ride." She said with a twist on her lips and a shrug. She somewhat shared Elizabeth's sentiments on the presence of humans although her anger lay more in their lack of respect and the fact that she was unable to "play" with them like she wanted to.
Endelyn seemed to be the only one that didn't mind to go on foot if it was absolutely necessary. In the time that things were peaceful, Endelyn would go out onto the ground for hours, walking through the woods during any kind of weather. She also didn't share their anger with humans. Of course she didn't like some of the things they did, but she did not like the fact that they had almost no respect. She did, however, see that even mutants were like that at times. She kept her thoughts to herself, and just looked between the two, ready to follow Elizabeth's orders.
Elizabeth led the way out into
EoD Foyer. She was concerns about taking transport for two reasons, firstly if the MLA noticed them, and secondly because she doubted it would go down well if they lost it or it was damaged somehow. The idea of the MLA getting hold of it was also a worry, as she did not want to just give resources to them, but as long as they left it far enough away from their mission location, it should be fine.
Lire followed after Elizabeth into the
EoD Foyer
Endelyn had once again managed to zone out and got left behind pretty quickly. She shook her head and snapped out of her daydream, quickly running into
EoD Foyer.
Entering the hallway,
Elizabeth took the stairs down to
EoD Armory.
Not being a big fan of safety...or guns
Lire was lagging behind but still entered the
EoD Armory
Elizabeth returned moments later from the armory, planning to stop Endelyn from heading down there and direct her towards the car so they could finally get going. Deciding she had waited long enough, she continued onwards to
EoD Foyer, planning to wait at the car for both of them.
Lire muttered to herself in annoyance for falling behind as she went to the
EoD foyer.
With the elevator grinding into position, the doors slid open with their traditional 'ding!' and
Nathan stepped out, swinging around and heading swiftly for the
EoD Foyer. The weight of his new armor was still adjusting and shifting on his body, so his movements weren't quite as graceful as he's hope, but it was a sad necessity in the case of the upcoming mission that he was bound for.
A few seconds after Nathan,
Catherine emerged from the elevator and continued towards the
EoD Foyer.
