Straight to the point... In order for any project or major undertaking to have any hope for success, the ones that work to make this possible, must share a common desire to want it to succeed. 'Wet blankets' not only defeat the purpose, but they also minimise and downgrade the efforts of the rest, those that are willing to make an honest and sincere effort towards the project's success. Therefore, within this common goal, efficiency, dependability, and responsibility are necessary, so each person contributes to the smoothness of the operation fairly, without expecting others in the equation to pick up their slack. Respect for the rest of the staff and the project's success is a must. However, since we all have 'real lives', with unexpected curves and/or bumps in the road, this will always be taken into consideration. The respectful and responsible action to be taken when real life inconveniently intervenes, is to inform the staff, so proper and fair counter measures may be taken to fill a void during the interim of one's absence. If only one staff member can be notified, then it is up to that staff member who was notified to inform the rest of the staff. Since some tasks will require more time than others, it is suggested that one accept only a task they feel confident they can commit to. If an applicant is accepted and is unsure of what he/she may be able to confidently fulfill, it is recommended to accept a smaller task and see how it goes. Positions and tasks can always be modified and/or shared. Please keep this in mind. If a staff member finds they are struggling to fulfill their commitment, please address the rest of the staff, so an adjustment or adjustments can be made to satisfy all and still maintain a smooth operation of the project as a whole. Please remember, it is inconsiderate to the rest of the staff, to leave us hanging, wondering what is going on, if a task is not getting completed and/or completed on time. Communication is key to achieve a positive and productive working environment for all. |
