The Second Age of Nyan
As the Dragons withdrew at the ending of the
Dragon Wars, the Elves and shades emerged, tired of hiding in mountains as the Dragons waged wars. There was a long era of peace in the East. The Elves were a thriving race as they met with the Angels and gained knowledge and wisdom. The Elves were yet a young race and they were discovering a new world and made it their haven as they and it evolved. Nyan.
Many advancements were made. It was then that the Elves first began to record and date history. It was during this age that the eight temples of the Entra were built. One was constructed for each of the Entra and spread throughout the growing Realm of Nyan.
The Elves separated and spread over the lands. A group of Elves went southward, forging themselves a life at sea and calling themselves the
Nanrehn. Others went east and upon finding a rich forest, they called it their home. Others were enthralled by the
Fortress of Raihēna Ivenúm, and remained there to watch and guard it. They became known as the
Endinōth, meaning the “Guardians”. Others stayed in their native lands to study with the Angels and to gaze upon the stars in wonder and dream of what depths of the universe the stars, sun and moon enclose.
The Shades too emerged from the depths of their cavern strongholds, along with the Drow or Dark Elves, a race that had evolved from the Elves that had followed the Shades into hiding in the Western Mountains. They have found that they no longer relish the light that they had longed for these many years. Their skin, like their hearts, has darkened.
During these times of peace, none looked for war, but war found them nonetheless. The Shades sought the knowledge of the elves, and it was found that they had developed a hunger for elven souls.
And thus began the
War of Ulienë, the War of Souls…
The Drow withdrew into their mountain homes, fearing their long proclaimed allies. The Elves, of course, fought back. It was a retched war and the Shades eventually sought out the help of the Drow. For twenty-nine years, the Drow fought for the Shades, and for twenty-nine years, the Shades slowly fed upon their souls.
Then the Drow turned their backs on the Shades, refusing to fight. The Angels too joined into the war on behalf of their Elven kindred. The last battle was upon them, and the Elves managed to overpower the Shades and force them to withdraw once more into the shadows of the mountain.
Into the shadows they strayed and there met
Lōrken, who had then taken on the name
Aenúndinalë.
And thus ended the
War of Ulienë and the Second Age of Nyan… and so too began the Third age –
