Gaide's Reign
Dimitri sighed, subconsiously increasing his pace as they entered the building.
Dalamir looked around at the waiting humans reading magazines, and nurses rushing patients into small white rooms.
Suddenly, everything seemed to stop, and all the humans confined in the room began to gape at the pairs of pointed ears, and the massive wings which filled up a good part of the room.
Dimitri stopped in his steps, glaring at them all "Hello! Nurses and likewise authorities, we have a girl with a missing eye! DO SOMETHING!" Each minute passing he was growing more irritated with the surroundings.
Within a few moments, everything rushed back into action. A few nurses rushed over to Melody's aid, and pulled over a stretcher. Melody yelped breifly, and slouched slightly, as nurses began to check her pulse and bombard her with questions.
One of the nurses turned to Dimitri and the others, and nodded,"Yes, yes, we'll get to cleaning and inspecting it right away, Mr. Angel and elves." she nodded frantically again, and gestured to the waiting area,"Why don't you take a seat, read a book, or chat amongst yourselves or perhaps care to take a drink out of the vending machine." she smiled sheepishly.
The minute the woman pointed to the steaing area, the crowd of waiting people seemed to divide, leaving at least fifteen seats for the unfamiliar races to sit.
The nurse walked back over to Melody,"We'll come back once your friend," she turned to Melody,"Name please?"
She blinked,"Um, Mel--"
Dalamir shot her a warning look.
"...
ika. Melika."
Rayan snickered to himself,"What a save." he said to himself.
The nurse nodded,"And your friends?"
Melody looked to the others,"Um...D
-Demetrius, Ray...mond, All..esandra...and um...Darren!!"
Dalamir rolled his eyes,"Was that honestly the best she could think of...?" he muttured lowly.
"Alright then," the nurse smiled warmly, and began to push the stretcher. Melody practically flopped over onto the small matress as it suddenly moved,"We'll contact you once it's okay to see her."
The hanyou looked to them with a worried expression, and soon dissapeared down another hallway.
"...Demetrius...?" Dimitri sighed, walking over to the newly vacated seats, and flopped heavily, wings folding over the back of the chair awkwardly.
Rayan plopped down in a seat beside him, grabbing a glossy magazine from beside him,"It's better than 'Raymond', for God's sake..." he opened the magazine, and squinted his eyes at the bright colours. He looked down and read on a bit with curiousity. His eyes widened, and he cocked his head at a women's underwear advertisement.
Dalamir ripped the magazine out of Rayan's hands, and shot him a glare. Rayan smiled slightly, then slumped back in his seat, face red,"Sheesh, I was just a little curious..."
"Curious and engaged, dear brother."
Rayan glanced over to Abi briefly. He sighed, and concluded with a food magazine.
Dimitri tilted his head back, glaring up at the birght white ceiling. He scratched his small beard abesently, anger etching his features. He thought a moment. "...I'm gonna kill him," he mumbled to himself.
Dalamir turned to Dimitri,"You mean Kaine? Pfft, all of us do," he sighed,"He is just the little bastard..."
"Funny you should say that," Dimitri sat erect, side-glancing him harshly.
Dalamir returned a menacing look, and grunted, leaning back lazily.
Rayan looked to the both of them and sighed,"Yeah...well,at least we know Mel's gonna be okay."
"Mm," Dimitri pulled angrily at the beads still permanantly wrapped around his wrist.
Dalamir looked back to Dimitri, and eyed the spell beads,"What're those, anyways?"
"I think they're cursed or something...that's why he can't fly." Rayan blinked, and turned to the angel,"I'm right, right?"
"Exactly," he hissed, his fingered clutching the mahogany spheres in anger he pulled so hard his knuckles turned white and colour drained from his face. No luck. He sighed, staring down the vile things in disdain.
Dalamir snarled,"That must suck."
"It does..." Dimitri took his mild anti-mellowness out on the surrounding people, glaring and glowering at them all for no good reason.
A small and brief tug fell upon Dimitri's wing. Rayan blinked, and looked over to a group of girls. One came running up, holding Dimitri's feather. They all began giggling, and looking to Dimitri, and making enticing comments on his sex appeal. Rayan tried his best to conatin his laughter.
Dimitri's face fell a considerable amount, red leaking his features in all it's glory. Without looking he swung his hand around to smack Rayan in the face and stood, wandering over to the ecstatic girls and crossed his arms "Can I help you?"
Rayan's bright expression suddenly fell, and he concluded to a sigh, watching Dimitri carefully.
The four of them glanced up to Dimtri, and blinked. The golden haired girl , whom plucked the feather from his wing, smirked, then turned back to her posse,"Watch this," she winked, and tucked the feather behind her ear.
Dalamir turned his gaze to the five of them, and shook his head in disbelief,"You've gotta be kidding me..." he muttured.
Slowly, the girl strided up to Dimitri, and smiled, wrapping her hair around her finger playfully, beginning to circle,"Why, hello there."
His eyes followed her lazily, brows lurking darkly over his eyes. "Hi."
Her eyes narrowed a bit, and she obviously was getting a bit tense. It was obvious by now, any human idiot would've gone all out drooling or grabbing or groping at her. The girl went onto a childish pout, slowly pulling out the feather from behind her ear. As she circled, she slowly traced a lazy line across Dimitri as she passed,"You seem angered...do I make you angry?"
Dimitri smirked coldly "Oh no, in fact, you make me horny and sexually driven. I feel almost as if I could..." he turned and wrapped his arms around her, leaning in close "... take you away, right now,"
The lecherous human blinked, and smirked kinivingly. She crooned a bit, and traced the feather down the side on his visage,"Oh really...?" she said, slurring her words together,"You're extremely enticing yourself."
He leaned forward even more, so he was just a hair-width from her. His wings flapped slowly, folding in subtley around them "I know I am," his fingers brushed up against her side, creeping under her shirt, soon followed by a cold steel barrel. He clicked the gun, cleverly covered by his feathery limbs.
"Please give me my feather back, and get lost. You and your friends,"
The girl flinched back at the cold steel against her side. She stared up at him, and her once sly and seducing face contorted into one of mixed anger and fear. Her eyes narrowed, and she tore away from him, throwing his feather at him, only to have it float slowly to the ground,"Fucking jerk!" she hissed, storming away along with her friends.
Rayan blinked, and got up, walking over beside Dimitri,"...I never realised humans could be so..."
"Dirty?" Dalamir sighed,"Yeah, I know. I told you not to expect pleasantville, Ray."
Rayan looked downwards,'Yeah...I guess we all have our flaws."
Dimitri stooped down to retrieve his feather and put it in his pocket. Returning to his full height he looked to Rayan and Dalamir "They're also easily manipulated." he smirked "Because that's all humans are, lost people who don't deserve anything they have,"
"Don't speak of them with such vile." Rayan sighed, twiddling his thumbs around,"I bet there are some good humans..."
"There are more bad people then good, unfortunately," Dalamir said,"That's what makes a race look bad."
Dimitri side-glanced Dalamir "Exactly," he agreed, he then looked to Rayan "Besides, what's with you and defending them so much?"
"Well, people always thinks elves are so arrogant and walk all over everyone because they're abnormally tall and think they rule the world, but we don't. It'd just seem hipocritical," he shrugged,"That's all."
"So what, because you're considered a mighty race you decide to defend the underdog?" Dimitri raised an eyebrow, returning his gun to it's respected holster.
Rayan blinked,"I don't know...I just care..." he reddened a bit,"I guess..."
Dimitri sighed "Okay, fine," he looked around, the glaring white of the room momentraily sending stars in his vision. He blinked, annoyed. Sighing again he turned around "Hey Dalamir, can I talk to you for a sec?"
Dalamir blinked to him, and cocked his head,"Umm, okay."
Rayan looked back and forth between the both of them, and sighed,"Nyehhh..." he took a seat pretty far from them.
Dalamir paced a few steps away,"Okay, what?"
Dimitri shifted a bit, hands shoved in his pocket "I think, once Melody gets out of here, and we get out of this city I'm gonna take off,"
Dalamir's eyes widened, as he was taken aback,"...What? " he hissed,"...Leave? Now of all times?! We are at our weakest point here, Dimitri-- you can't just leave!!" he exclaimed,"Rayan, for one, has had a real guy friend to just hang out with, and Mel, the girl sticks to you like glue!! They've both become attatched to you, like crazy, and we will all die without your skill and care."
"My very presence is risking your death," Dimitri said calmly "I have an assassin out to get me, and just because I'm her target, Melody lost an eye. She could've died, you could've, same with Rayan. I'm risking your lives just by being with you and I cant do that anymore, I can stay and risk you guys,"
"It's not all your fault, Dimitri." he snapped,"It's Mel's for getting involved so quickly and being so careless, and saving you in the first place, it's mine for dealing with the bastard, and it's Rayan's for wanting to be all 'delinquent' and crap, and following you guys. We all got ourselves into this mess with our own flaws, and we've all wanted to walk out because we thought we were a burden. But never once have we ever mentioned it, because we knew that everything could very well fall apart. I'd rather die fighting, than hanging alone and abandoned because some heavenly dumbass thought it would kill us if he stayed."
"It's not any of our faults Dalamir, it's Kaine's. For picking a fight and deciding I'm the source of his unhappiness," Dimitri responded passively, but mentally he was taken aback by the declarations the Elf made. "It's not my fault, not your's, and not Rayan's. The only thing Melody has to fault for is following me around and leaving her asylum in the first place," he immediatly regretted saying that, and wished he could take it back, but continued on "I don't know why you guys care so much about me, if you ask me all I've been is a pain in the ass. But please, don't take this the wrong way. This isn't some noble deed to make me some hero, I just have to do this, for your safety. Let me do this, Dalamir, please,"
Dalamir's gaze bore upon him fow a few moments, and he broke the silence with a deep breath,"Fine. Do whatever you want..." he began to turn,"But honestly -- think about it for a while."
Dimitri's instinct was to glare harshly at him, but he allowed his face to remain indifferent as he wandered back to his still vacated seat. He sat heavily, running his hand through his hair. 'Thank-you,' he then realized stupidly that he had just thought that outloud and spoke to the Elf "Thanks,"
Dalamir merely nodded, as Rayan glanced over to the two of them,
"...you two make me feel so juvenile, you know..."
Dimitri sighed "You're not juvenile, Rayan," he saidgruffly placing a ahnd atop Rayan's hand "Simpley too... unstable to be in big people conversations," he mocked him returning his hands to his pockets and looking around, absently praying those girls didn't call the cops or anything.
Rayan slouchled slightly, and sighed, continuing to flip absently through the food magazine.
After more agonizing waiting, the nurse from before finally approached them,"You can go on and see Melika now." she gestured to the room at the end of the hall, on the right.
Dimitri snickered softly under his breath at the name, but stood and wandered towards the indicated room and enetered it.
Dalamir and rayan followed on afterwards, and rayan paused to give a curtious nod to the nurse. Dalamir watched his brother, and sighed, patting his head.
In the indicated room, the last of the nurses stood before Melody for a few moments, then took the time to leave, pushing through the entering three with a small 'Excuse me'.
The injured girl blinked to the three, as she laid on the simple white hospital bed. Nothing much had seemed to change, except for the blue grey hospital gown which she wore, and what seemed to be much cleaner and more professionally wrapped guaze aross whence the lost organ once was.
Melody smiled brightly,"Hey guys." she said quietly, sideglancing the stand which kept track of her heartbeat, and which led from a wire stuck into her vain to a pack of AB type human blood.
Dimitri wandered over, grabbing a seat and sitting beside the bed, "How are you holding up?"
Melody breathed heavily, turning her head to him,"Pretty good. Just a bit tired, since they put me to sleep with this gas stuff when they were cleaning the thing out."
Rayan cocked her head at her, as he approached,"...you look the same." he blinked, then stopped as his brother elbowed him.
Melody sighed,"They put a glass eye in the socket. They suggested I still keep it covered for a while though."
Dimitri stuck his tongue out in disgust "A glass eye? Ew."
Melody laughed hollowly,"Heh...they made me choose the colour I wanted." she continued the laughter a bit,"You can;t see through it or anything, considering I chose an all black sphere...but I think I'd rather keep the bandages over it than show my literally black eye to the world."
Dalamir peered over to the package where the blood was coming into Melody's body from,"...so they're pumping in human blood because you lost a great amount?"
Melody nodded,"That's right."
He cocked his head,"...won't that mean you'll have more human blood in you than demon?"
"At this rate," she paused,"Yeah...I'll be weaker with less agility in battle." She reached out to a manga juice box on the sidetable, and sipped some of it through the straw. Rayan leaned in with curiousity, and dalamir thwaped him over the head again,
"It's not like you've never seen straws before," Dalamir mumbled.
Rayan moaned irritably,"It's not the straw...it's the box."
Dalamir snickered under his breath.
Melody eyed the three,"So...did I miss anything during my absence?"
Dimitri blinked awkwardly, "No, just some sluts and giggling girls," he lied, leaning back lazily in the chair.
The hanyou arched a brow at him,"...I won't bother asking." she sighed again,"They said I'll be able to walk outta here pretty soon."
Dimitri smiled genuinely "That's great," he looked around "Do you want something to drink? Or eat?" he asked, getting up from the chair.
Melody looked down to her stomach, and her brows furrowed,"Yeah...my stomach's somewhat empty." she smiled sheepishly,"Thanks."
"Cool, I'll be back in a few..." he wandered over to the dooor and exited, wings folding in the smaller space awkwardly.
Melody smiled on after him, then turned to Rayan and Dalamir with a dark expression,"Okay, what the hell really happened?" she snapped suddenly.
Dalamir chuckled, and sighed, leaning against the wall,"Just like he said...sluts and giggling girls..."
She shot a glare to him, the turned the direction of her gaze to Rayan,"...Rayan...?"
Rayan smiled a bit, then sighed,"Fine. A group of these skanks was in the lobby, and this blonde haired girl took a feather from Dim's wing, and showed it off to her posse. Dim went over, then the girl went all flirty and slutty all over him." he paused for a while, as he saw Melody's face redden incerdiously. Melody nodded, and he continued,"Then, he pretended to fondle around with her a bit, and slid his hand up her shirt, as well as his gun...you get the point."
Melody sighed, and sat up, running her fingers through her hair,"Sheesh..." she mumbled, another tint of red hitting her features.
Dimitri returned a few minutes later with a tray of assorted foods and a pop can. He put it on the bedside table and returned to his seat.
Melody smiled at him, and grabbed a cookie off of the tray, chewing the baked good,"Thanks, Dimitri." she eyed him awkwardly for a while, after hearing about the past situation, then continued to chew on the cookie.
Dimitri raised an eyebrow suspiciously "What?"
The hanyou shook her head, and opened her can of pop,"Nothing," she said nonchalantly, taking a sip of the fizzy substance. Pretty soon, some sideffects came to her, and she began to hiccup constantly.
Rayan snickered under his breath, and shook his head,"Heh heh..."
Dimitri sighed, leaning against the door frame. He yawned "Well, I'm tired," he announced.
"We all are, Dimitri." Dalamir said, nonchalantly grabbing a cookie off of the food tray, and decided to eat it himself,"Thank God we can just take a little break today..." he looked to Dimitri ,"And hope that our tiny incident doesn't get us into any future trouble." he added darkly.
Dimitri smiled in bitterness as his fist cracked audibly. He remained unspeaking, giving Dalamir a silent warning with his eyes.
Dalamir smirked sadistically at him, then turned to Melody, who was twitching her ears in annoyance, and continued hiccuping,"...well, hic , isn't this...hic ," she sighed,"Nice...hic."
Dimitri growled some curses, wandering off out of the room. A yell was heard, and Dimitri walked back lackadaisically tossing a water bottle at her "Get rid of those God damn hiccups will you?" he grunted, taking his place back in the doorway.
She hiccuped again, and blinked at the bottle of water, as it bounced violently off the matress. Melody looked up to him, and sighed, unscrewing the cap. She drank the water, taking down at least a fourth of the liquid in one gulp,"Thanks." she replied bluntly.
Dimitri just grunted in response, kicking the door closed as an angry person tried to enter the room. He sighed, leaning against the door, ignoring the few hard knocks it emitted.
"How long are you in here for?' he asked, stupidly forgeting.
Melody looked to the pack of blood being pumped into her, seeing at was nearly empty,"Really soon. Probably forty minutes or like, two hours at maximum."
Dimitri grinned, despite himself forgetting the angry man on the other side of the wood "That's great," he sighed in relief-- though it was cut short when the wood splintered and a fist connected with the back of his skull.
The other three in the room jerked up at the noise of cracking wood. Dalamir pushed himself off the wall, and gaped at the balled hand,"...Dimitri..." he growled immediately.
Dimitri smiled sheepishly, hand trailing to the doorknob, "Um... S'cuse me for a sec..." he slipped out the door, and a few gunts and yells... along with many colourful curses were heard.
Melody stopped off of the bed, and dragged her stand with her, walking over to the door,"...Dimitri, what the hell are you going?!" she called through the wood. She sighed in irritation, and peered through the whole in the wood to see the obviously violent and profane commotion.
Dimitri walked back in the room, sporting a respectable black eye and bloody lip "Um... the nice man out there wants his water back..."
Melody twitched slightly,"...you stole the water...?!" Rayan blinked up to Dimitri, and supressed laughter, making his face somewhat twisted.
The hanyou shook her head in disbelief, then grabbed the bottle of water off of the bed, aftewards walking back to the door,"I'd smack your pretty little face right now, but it seems that this 'nice man' has beaten me to it." she snapped, whispering a faint,'S'cuse me,' as she walked around the angel , and through the door.
Melody smiled shyly,"Sorry if he caused any trouble, sir." she held out the bottle of water,"Erm, here's your water back, if you still want it...eheh..." she bore a sheepish smile.
The man growled angrily, spitting on the ground before her "Angels... think they're all high and mighty..." he stormed away.
Dimitri sighed, poking gingerly at the bruise forming around his eye. He then reflected dumbly on the hole in his gut and Melody's lack of eye. He sighed again, and decided on poking at his lip instead "Sorry," he mumbled indifferently.
Melody looked to Dimitri for a while, and sighed as well,"He'll forget about it soon enough." a look of worry took over her face,"Just don't get into anymore trouble, or you'll end up getting really hurt."
"I've learned," he hissed, shoving his hands in his pockets and leaning against the wall. "Many times,"
The girl watched him for another few moments, then traveled back into her hopsital bed.
Rayan ran his fingers through his hair, and yawned. His elven ears twitched, as water splattered on the window. He peered up to the glass, and moaned irritably,"Great, it's gloomy and rainy..."
"I for one, like rain," Dimitri grunted for the hell of it, not really interested in the current weather. He was more focused on how he was going to leave 'Tonight probabaly... Soon as possible..'
Melody looked over to the window, and miled faintly,"Agreed. It's a timeless event when it rains." she paused in thought for a while, and sighed,"Anyways, after the doctor gives the okay, I think it's best we leave the city walls."
Dimitri grinned "Yeah... I think I'm getting on the wrong side of people..." he stated gruffly.
Rayan snickered,"Aye, agreed."
"More than you think, Dimitri." Dalamir hissed lowly.
Dimitri growled some dark curse, glaring at Dalamir. "But yeah, I suppose I'll try and be nice," he continued to Rayan "It'll probably work out for the better..."
Rayan smiled brightly,"It always does..."
Through the wet and cold of the rain, a cloaked and well covered figure approached the gate. His eyes narrowed, and a growl rose in his throat, as a sign of the barrier around the city was clear.
He sighed, as he reached the gatekeeper.
"...what buisness do you bring?" he asked,"You're quite the shady fig--"
In an instant, a choking sound emmitted from said person, as he strugged for his life. Of course, no possible human could withstand such a force...
Of two fanged teeth digging into their jugular.
Kaine withdrew from the human, and spat on the ground, as his hood nearly fell off,"Dammit," he cursed, adjusting his gloves,"Thank god it's raining...I'm already taking a risk as it is." he looked around, blinking dully,"...that's all? One human guarding the gate...?" he snarled,"...pathetic."
He picked up the gatekeeper's staff, and tapped it onto the ground as the man did before.
The glass elevator was in view, and a hole in the barrier was revealed.
The vampire pulled the hood over his head, as the sky darkened with a storm approaching,"Perfect..."
Dimitri wandered the room, feet dancing with impatience "So... will you need any medicine to carry along with the rest of your hits?" he asked Melody bluntly, mentally smacking himself for the snide remark.
Melody shot a dark look at him, and sighed,"Yeah...I have to take this stuff to keep my stamina up now."
A young girl, barely 15, knocks politely on the door. A notepad, along with several bandages, lotions and tubes of pills protude from the pocket of her white med's suit and a name-tag with "Alegora" on it is pinned to her chest.
"Erm, excuse me ?" She asks tentatively, a touch of hesitance(?) in her voice.
Melody blinked up to her,"Um, yes?" she smiled gently, but sighed inside, relieved that she never took off her bandana.
Alegora took in the angel, the elves and the girl on the bed with one long glance, refraining from lifting an eyebrow up. She stepped in, slightly intimidated by the presence of mythical creatures. "Just checking everything's allright, uhm something about a man ... and a water bottle ... Err but I guess that's sorted out, I also need to change your bandages madam and apply some cream." She finished miserably.
Dalamir looked pointedly to Dimitri,"We're sorry about that incident, by the way..." he added darkly, sighing.
Melody smiled sheepishly,"Yes, indeed." she turned to Alegora,"Um, thanks..." she squinted her eyes at her name tag,"Um, Alegora..."
Alegora edges towards Melody, shooting curious looks at the other beings in the room, and after putting on rubber gloves starts to undress the wound carefully.
Rayan watched carefully, then suddenly grimaced back as the wound was revealed,"Aww, man that's--"
Dalamir elbowed his brother, shooting him a look,"If you don't like it, don't look, sheesh..."
Rayan returned the looked mockingly to Dalamir.
Melody flinched a bit, as her wound was free and bare. A tingling feeling filled her side of her face, and she sighed heavily.
Alegora looks down at the glass ball showing no trace of disgust, but feeling her lunch churn inside. Where the hell does someone get a wound like that ? Putting a damp cloth on the side of Melody's face, she reassures her, "The nurses have done a good job, it should heal quite quick though you'll have to change the bandages regularily for a few weeks. It'll be a good idea if you come back tomorrow to see how things are going, and I advise you to check up every 2 or 3 days till it's properly healed. These wounds can quickly get infected."
She blinked with her remaining eye, and nodded nonchalantly in comprehension.
Dalamir gave a worried look,"Um, I don't think we can come back tomorrow..." he elbowed his younger brother again, and mouthed,'Say something'.
Rayan blinked, and did nothing but nod,"Um, yeah," he nodded vigorously , overdoing it.
The urge to smack him rose, but Dalamir refrained from it.
This time Alegora did raise an eyebrow and trying to keep her voice steady, replied "Well the well-being of madam is at stake, as I said it can quickly get infected and neads a regular medical check-up." She spread a creamy lotion around the eye and tipped Melody's head back to put a few drop in the eye. "Now this will help to stop the pain, and I'll suply a few bottles before you leave. You will of course be able to get more at your next appointment." She made a show of glaring at Dalamir while she said this.
Dalamir felt a growl rise in his throat, but supressed any profane words that would splatter out of his mouth.
She gave Alegora an apologetic look,"I'm sorry, but the elf is right. I simply can't make it to another appointment..." Melody said.
Alegora looked around, trying to find an ally : "But ... " Seeing they were all intent on leaving the place, she resigned. "Right, then I'll have to make a really tight bandage and I'll also have to provide you with more cream and such ... I guess you'll be wanting to leave quite soon so I'll call someone to get them straight away." She pressed a button near the bed and asked for the medication necessary to be delivered in room 113. Having finished dressing the wound, she looks at it with a proud smile.
Melody gave a warm smile,"Thank you," the smile suddenly became somewhat distorted, as her bandana began to fall off. She yelped a bit, and shoved it back over her ears, glaring upwards as if they were misbehaving in their own accord.
Alegora looks wide-eyed at Melody, and then quickly goes back to her normal friendly face. "Well, you are an unusual and sprising group of ... beings." She whispers to Melody. A smile spread on her face, and she added, "I won't say anything ... as long as you prove to me that you're on the not-so-bad side."
She eyed her carefully, and heaved a defeated sigh,"Thank you," Melody looked out the window to the grey sky, as the droplets of rain cascaded down the window,"...you cannot truely define good and bad in this war."
"I'm not that naive", sighed Alegora," but I just want to know that you're intent on making humans an endangered specie and that more good will come out than bad if I let you out..." She looked questionnely at everyone, especially the angel, before letting her gaze fall back upon Melody.
"Let me assure you," Melody started,"That we have no intention of hurting anyone because they are human." she bent over, and ran her fingers through her fine hair,"The only reason we'd hurt someone is if they start antagonizing against us."
Dalamir nodded simply,"Agreed." he said apathetically.
"I am not sided in this war," the hanyou added, ears twitching under the cloth of her bandana,"My comrades seem to be, but...they're all morally right."
Alegora wanted to trust them, but wasn't sure whether she should follow her instinct or not. No one ever tells you what do if this city accidently let in beings that have nothing to do there, and could destroy the whole place without too much effort ... I really should do something ... but what ?! she asked herself, feeling the panic rise as her face got redder. Just then, a knock on the door was heard and she hurried off to retrieve the medicine for Melody, quickly closing the door behind her.
Dimitri sighed irritably, purposefully keeping quiet the whole time and gritting his teeth as the conversation ensued "Why do people have this unending urge to burrow into our business..?" he mumbled angrily.
"Humans are always curious." Melody said, looking to him,"Striving for something more. I guess it's just because...we're different."
Alegora came back in carrying a boxful of creams, lotions, and pills, and put them down next to Melodys bed. "Right, she said, "there is no way I can let an angel, a hanyou and several elves wandering around in this city dedicated to saving the human race from you, but I don't want to deliver you to the police either, as there's a chance that whatever you're doing may be a good thing." Not to mention that they'll probably take the whole police department down anyway if we try to put them into prison...
"So ... , she breathed in deeply, I'm going to come with you. I've got nothing holding me back here, a medic will be of use to you and ... well I won't culpabilise for blindly letting you leave. Now we better hurry, cos there's a young woman and a very angry man complaining about some ... winged person to put it kindly." She breathed out, and the flamme that had kept her going along during her speech suddenly died as she realised that these guys weren't likely going to take orders from a 15 year old human girl.
The two elves stared at her, eyeing her up and down. Rayan almost gaped and left his mouth open, but Dalamir elbowed him as Rayan always did to him before any rude mouth-dropping occured.
As a sullen silence fell over the room, Melody blinked several times, twitching her ears,"I admire your intentions and compassion, Alegora. And I'd like to thank you from refraining from contacting the police.I have nothing against it, but," she sighed,"Think about it for a while, if you are going to decide to tag along. We get attacked by vampires, shot in the stomach, and nearly dismembered by the day. And plus, we're probably gonna be the weirdest and most insane people you'll ever meet. We're serious, but we joke the hell out of each other...it's your own risk."
Alegora gulped, now regretting her sudden outburst. She saw badly injured people all the time, but being one of them was not on her list of priorities. And they did seem like a weird bunch ... "If only I had more time to decide ... But there's only one shot at this, and knowing myself I will play this moment over and over again in my mind till I die. So to hell with it, I will come. Vampires or not ..." Damn me and my bloody curiosity... she cursed herself silently, though she knew that what she was doing was ... hopefully ... right.
Dimitri sighed leaning havily against the wall, suddenly all this information was getting to him and his head started to pound. He glanced around at Dalamir, Rayan and Melody, thinking. "It's not my decision to make," he started slowly, picking his words with caution "Although your 'tagging along', as all of you somehow like to refer to it as, will get you killed, injured, traumatized or anything else that's similar to those, it's your own choice," He pushed himself off the wall and stalked to the other side of the room randomly.
"Of course I personally consider you stupid. Whatever you're risking letting us go quietly is insignificant compared to what you're risking coming with us," he, again, spoke slowly so as to not let too many important words drop. "Trust me, there are some things you don't want to have to face, or even think about for that matter..." he rubbed his temple "But to the main point, I don't care about you or your well being, weather you live or die, or tell the police. Come if you want, I don't care."
Dalamir sideglanced Dimitri in careful thought,"Of course you won't..." he said lowly,'cause you'll be leaving anyways.'
Dimitri looked at Dalamir, black eyes boring on him darkly "Thank-you Dalamir," he said dryly "for agreeing,"
The elf snarled, and looked out at the rain splattering against the window,"You're welcome." he muttured in reply.
Rayan looked back and forth between the two, and sighed heavily,'Apparantly a 'grown-up' thing, dammit,' he thought.
Dimitri let his gaze rest on the older elf for a few more seconds before glancing at Rayan, taking note of his sigh. He shifted his feet idly and glanced at Melody "What do you think?"
Melody shrugged,"I have no problem with it." she replied, then looking to the two elves. Dalamir shrugged, but Rayan nodded,
"She can do what she wants." he said, smiling brightly as he always did.
Dimitri slowly raised an eyebrow at Rayn's bubbliness, but shrugged it of "Fine, you can come," he said finally "As if I'm the one to say, but there ya go,"
Rayan slouched slightly at Dimitri's somewhat disturbed/appalled look, ears drooping suddenly. His brother rolled his eyes, but couldn't help but snicker.
Melody smiled, nodding,"Yep," she added uselessly.
The cloaked finger flinched back, as a human brushed past his cloak. Kaine grimaced, and swore under his breath, pulling his hood over his head further, scared that the sun would suddenly appear and he would burn into oblivion,"Disgusting..."
It suddenly became darker, even behind the grey and gloomy sky. Kaine smiled to himself, and night fell,"Good..." he turened into an alleyway, the only thing in the city that was familiar to him. He blinked, as she saw a brooding blonde girl sitting on the step which led into the side of an apartment building.
The vampire blinked, and strode over to her, eyeing her carefully,'Humans...so pathetically delicate and beautiful.'
His shadow soon towered over her, blocking the moonlight seeping through the clouds,"What's the matter, dear...?" he asked, in a soothing, crooning voice.
The girl looked up, and blinked at the handsome face raining down on her. She got up,"...y-yes..." she said, pouting. She had realised that hwo delicate and smooth and handsome the vampires face was, of course, never knowing he was a vampire, so she'd decided to use her sweet talk a bit to play with him a while... of course, the situation was totally in the opposite direction,"What brings such a man like yourself here...?"
Kaine suddenly thought about Morgan, but shoved her out of his mind, reminding himself constantly not to go too far. He slipped his fingers under her chin, and tilted her head up,"I will not let such a lady cry alone...tell Kaine what's wrong, dear."
The blonde sniffed again,"...I got...I got flipped by an angel. He was damn fine, but a total jack ass...with his whole tough guy gun act and all."
Kaine blinked, and his eyed widened,"...oh?" he smiled a bit,"That's too bad...you look like one yourself."
The girl smirked,"Why thank you,"
His eyes narrowe dhis feign concern,"Where is this...angel, you speak of?"
"The hospital...that's where I saw him last."
He nodded, and leaned in, kissing her forehead,"Kaine'll make it all better..." she turned red, as he drew back,"Kaine'll make him dissapear."
The started to say something, but then he was gone.
