Fantasy Satire

Also known as The Chronicles of Utter Sarcasm

This is a game sort of thing for all ye tired as hell of stock fantasy literature, in which utterly predictable things happen to utterly predictible people. It is, as the name implies, a satire. The object is to write a mock stock fantasy epic, only in the style of Mad-Libs, if anyone knows what those are.

Okay, so here's how this works. In the comment box below, I will ask for parts of speech like "adjective," "past tense of a verb" and the like to fill out a sentense with blanks in (you do not, however, get to see the sentence). Anyone wishing to add their own twist to the most likely nonsense may then suggest words or phrases (yes, phrases are allowed, so long as they really are the part of speech requested). I will select those I find most ammusing, insert them into the appropriate slots, and post the result below.

By the way, anyone feel free to suggest titles for chapters, books, whatnot, as I have no ideas.

Chapter One: In the Beginning

A rain struck through the pond of shellac. A boring fire-witch looked up from her work to see a dragon moving over the cacti. She satisfied the chestnut tentatively. There was a lavender taste upon it

2006-02-02 [Rosanegra]: Okay, to start out with, I'm going to need a natural phenomenon, the past tense of a verb, a habitat, a nonsense word, an adjective describing something normal or dull, an occupation, a noun, and a plural plant. Don't feel you have to submit answers all at once, just specify which is which.

2006-02-04 [Naerwen16]: rain- phenomenon

2006-02-04 [Naerwen16]: fell-past tense

2006-02-04 [Naerwen16]: nail bitting-habbit

2006-02-04 [Naerwen16]: crappy-nonsence

2006-02-04 [Naerwen16]: cook- occupations

2006-02-04 [Naerwen16]: chestnuts- plurel plants

2006-02-04 [Naerwen16]: * inside a nutshell *.....its dark in here

2006-02-10 [Rosanegra]: well, it's habitat, not habit

2006-03-12 [rowanwatersprite]: lightening struck a pond shellack ordianary burgler Tom Palm Fronds...

2006-03-12 [rowanwatersprite]: sorry, they just let me out yersteday *winks*

2006-03-13 [Rosanegra]: from where?

2006-03-13 [Rosanegra]: Still need the adjective, occupation, noun, and plural plant.

2006-09-08 [Elodicressida]: natural phenomenon - lightning
past tense verb - satisfied
habitat - forest
nonsense word - googoofax

2006-09-21 [Rosanegra]: Okay. That'll do.

2006-09-21 [Rosanegra]: Now I need:
-a nonsense word

-an ajective
-any word
-a name

Have fun, and be creative!

2006-09-22 [Rosanegra]: Sounds great, but, although this is of course a fantasy story on a fantasy site, perhaps you could, I don't know, lay off the fantasy? Might end up being funnier. Don't mean to bug you, of course. Thanks for contributing!

2006-09-22 [Elodicressida]: Okey-doke! Will certainly keep that in mind!

2007-04-13 [Captain_Zoom]: Nonsense word: Hopperbun
Season: Second Summer of the year
Adjective:Peckish
Word:Petticoat
Name: Mr Headache
Plural noun:cuttle-fish
