Abby Nye has written a fantastic guide for college students who find their faith and values under assault from day one. Learn what to expect, and how to navigate through classes while maintaining a good GPA and a positive college experience.
Abby prepares new freshman (and even seasoned students!) to be able to survive and thrive in this often hostile setting. Among the topics she covers:
     Freshman orientation week
     The treatment of science and faith in the classroom
     Difficult professors and real life solutions
     The many forms of liberal "indoctrination"
     Helpful campus groups and managing peer pressure
This book is truly must reading for students embarking for any college -- a valuable handbook for parents, teachers, and students alike.

This book includes a "resources" section in the back of the book providing numerous websites, books, magazines, movies, and many other things to look in to.

Reading Abby Nye's book was rejuvenating, but also made me stop and think if I could really "survive and thrive" at a secular college. One night I was reading an article in a gaming magazine about how changing a game's coding just a bit could unlock stuff including a way to play the whole game along side a naked woman. It was then I realized that there was a need for Christians within the hardcore gaming industry. I then found an article for UAT withing that same magazine. Ever since then that's been exactly where I want to go and what I want to do with my life: animation. As I read Abby Nye's book, I realized it wasn't whether or not I could survive, it is whether or not I can remember my purpose while within UAT's society.

I would recommend Fish Out of Water to every Christian person I know, young or old, but especially to those faced with the decision of a secular college or a Christian college.
