what is it that keeps you alive

You know of pain
of suffering
everything around you
seems to crumble

and you take a faltering step

Don't go there!

Someone pleads you
not to go down that path
You don't want to be there
at the end of that road

Don't enter that abyss
save it for when it's your time
to see the face
of Death in the darkness

Never letting go
As if trapping sorrow in a bottle.
So when it feels like the world consumes you.

You'll drink from the bottle
while still leaving some for the next time.
Sorrow colder than ice once drank.
But also hot as boiling water to the touch.

Keeping sorrow bottled for everything.
Looking around you someone drank from it.
That someone was me.

I drank from the bottled sorrow.
As happy as can be until.
There was little left of me.
Only a person hollow inside.

Until I looked at myself angry at me.
Forgetting to be hollow inside I'll try.
To gain what's lost.
From the sadness that took over.

Leaving me weak emotionally, then physically.
As I throw away the remains.

Of the bottled sorrow I kept near me.

I dreamt a dream,
of horrors untold,
in my eyes,
my future i behold.

i see my dream,
like a train without steam,
my future is over,
my life is forgotten.

I can't wake up,
from this nightmare of sores,
but if i would tell you,
you would fall into bores.

You see the world,
with rose tinted glasses,
with lovely days,
and pretty little lasses.

Well one day you'll find,
the world as it is;
then maybe you'll be,
jaded like me.

It's late I know.

We both know it's not.
  Love is a two-edged sword.
Yes, we finally fought,
  But it's a stream we can fjord.

Time passes by,

Tangled in love I,

Beneath all the grime,
  I know there's you.
I don't care about time,
  Unless you're there too.
