Rika fell to the muddy ground and got covered in mud. She pushed herself up with her hands. She flipped herself over so she could see what tripped her. Then she noticed a dead vine wrapped around her ankle. She reached out to grab it but a barrier protected it. Rika pulled her hand back and looked at the vein in disbelief. The only one she knew who used barriers was...
She decided not to think of it because it was nonsense. She started wiping away the mud from her face. She sighed looking at the vein. "How do I get out of this?..." She said to herself. "Rika?" A voice said from behind, she gasped and turned. She saw Hiei standing there with an umbrella over his head. She blushed from embarrassment. Hiei knelt down looking at the vein and then Rika, "Rika, I didn't say anything before, but what's going on?" Rika opened her mouth slightly to say something but couldn't. Hiei sighed and went to grab the vine. When he got close enough something shocked his hand and he pulled it away. "It's a barrier..." Rika said. Hiei looked at her, "A barrier? But the only one who could use a barrier was..." Then they heard a sound coming from behind a tree. Hiei quickly unsheathed his sword and cut the tree down, only to find nothing there. He resheathed the sword. He then knelt down by the vine again. His eye's glowed and he faced his palm toward the barrier, "Break!" and just as he said that the barrier disappeared and the vines dissolved. It was a spell to break small barriers. Hiei stood up and then helped Rika up. "it doesn't feel safe here. Let's go back to the tower." Hiei said. Rika nodded. When they returned to the tower Rika went to her room and got changed and cleaned herself up. Then motioned for Hiei to come in. He jumped from the window sill and walked to her room. There Rika told Hiei everything, even about the knife. "Why didn't you tell me before?" Hiei asked. Rika blushed and looked at the floor, "I didn't want you to worry again...." Hiei looked at her. "I think I might know who it is....but it's impossible. You killed him...." Rika said. "You don't think he survived do you?" Hiei asked. "I'm not sure..." Rika said in the most worried way. There was a short silence. "I need to teach you more spells.......stronger ones." Rika said hesitantly. "How do I get stronger?" Hiei asked. "There is a spell......but I don't want to hurt you like that.....We just need to train harder." Rika said standing from her leaned position against the desk. "What is the spell?" Hiei asked stubbornly. Rika scowled at him, "No!.....I can't do that!" "WHY NOT!?" Hiei's arrogance was getting out of hand on this subject. Rika looked at him somberly. Hiei's expression grew softer as well. "Fine...." he said. Rika smiled very slightly. Then she went to the back of her room and came back with so many books, she needed to use a levitation spell to carry them all. Then used them to clear the area around them and set the books down. "Here is everything you need to learn." She said. Hiei looked in aw. Rika picked up a book, "Let's start with a barriers." Hiei nodded. The rest of the night Rika taught him barrier spells, how to break barriers, levitation spells, more element techniques, and energy spells. He managed to jump to an upper C class. Rika was truly impressed. Rika picked up a book, "Ok Hiei lets continue with-" Rika paused as she saw Hiei asleep sitting, leaning against the wall. She smiled a little. "He must be tired." She thought. She sighed happily and morphed into a white wolf and cuddled up next to Hiei. When he woke in the morning he saw Rika as a wolf next to him. He reached out his hand and scratched behind her ear. This woke her up and she contently enjoyed it. After a little bit, they headed out, and took a few books with them to train with the spells. They worked for about another week. By then Rika and Hiei had felt a very powerful ora around the area. They decided to go to the cliff to talk about this.
"Are you scared?" Hiei asked. ".......no....." Rika said hesitantly. "You didn't mean what you just said, did you?" Hiei asked. "No....I didn't." She answered. "Why?" He asked. "..........I just...............don't want to get separated from you again. And I don't want the same thing to happen like last time." Rika answered turning her head. "You've taught me a lot. I can protect you with the spells." Hiei said looking at her. "If this is Atamis, he's most likely gotten stronger. The spell might not work." She said. "They will, and if they don't I'll find a different way!" Hiei answered. Rika looked at him, "How?"
Hiei paused a moment, "............I'm not sure, but I will find a way." A small smile came to her face. ,"You’re sure?" "I'll protect you. I won't let it happen again." Hiei answered. "Hiei thank-MMM!" Then Rika was picked up and he mouth was covered. Hiei saw the one who did, it WAS Atamis. He flew out over the ocean. Hiei jumped down to the beach and started running on the water, his spell energy allowed him to do that. "NOT THIS TIME ATAMIS!" He yelled. He caught up with him, "LET HER GO YOU BASTARED!!" Atamis just laughed. Hiei then got angry and unsheathed his sword, jumped up and tried to hit him. But Atamis was protected by a barrier. Hiei kept trying until the sword broke. Then landed on top of the water again. He used his control over water to create waves and aimed at Atamis. It didn't work either. He tried punching the barrier, that didn't work. Finally, he jumped above him and touched the barrier, his eyes glowed as a powerful ora surrounded him, then said, "BREAK!" For a moment sparks flew around the barrier then exploded, not breaking the barrier and sending Hiei into the water. Through the speed they were going at, made him skip once on the water then fall in with a hard slash. He surfaced and watched as Atamis took Rika toward Forbidden Island. His face was very somber as Rika was able to remove Atamis's hand from her mouth and called out, "HIEI!" "Rika....." Hiei said softly even though Rika couldn't hear.
"RELEASE ME, ATAMIS!" Rika yelled at Atamis. "NO! I will get my revenge on you and your little friends too!" He said. Rika tried to use an energy release so he would let go of her, but it didn't work. "Don't wasn’t your energy! The spell I cast over you prevents you from harming me." Atamis said.
