The Missionary Daily Planner is a cheap little calendar thing that has six weeks worth of undated pages, every day on a page spread, with space for weekly and daily goals and notes. So you get an empty planner and you add in the dates yourself, and every six weeks you get a new one. And this planner is your life. Literally as well as figuratively. In it a missionary keeps track of appointments and meetings, and the missionary life style says that you should have something meaningful planned for every half hour of every day, with backup plans and a focus on the key indicator goals. It's pretty intense. But something super-awesome about planners is this habit of missionaries to decorate the planner covers. :D I did just that with all of my planners, and thusly wanted to share.
So, in chronological order, my planners:
-Fear not, thou worm Jacob, and ye men of Israel: I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel. -Isa. 41:14
-Without complete obedience, you cannot be confident in doing the Lord's work.
-Lift up your head and be of good cheer; for behold, the time is at hand, and on this night shall the sign be given, and on the morrow come I into the world... 3 Ne 1:13
The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones,
And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry.
And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest.
Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord.
Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live:
And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone.
And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them.
Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live.
So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army. Ezek 37:1-10
The difference between a scientist and a theologian:
Scientist: I cannot explain this. Therefore I shall posit microscopic things that cannot be seen.
Theologian: I cannot explain this. Therefore I shall posit a gargantuan thing that cannot be seen.
(Then some pencil scribbles that cannot be seen, probably about the true nature of God being pretty much the same tangible thing as man, or about me not being a theologian, or something)
-O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!
Behold, your house is left unto you desolate. -Matt. 23:27-28
-And the Spirit brought him to Jerusalem, and set him on a pinnacle of the temple. And the devil came unto him, and said unto him, If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down from hence: -Luke 4:9
And in the picture is the skyline of Sundsvall :P
Some random stuff in Swedish about trains
On a mission, district associations can be the source of some of our greatest joy. Satan is attacking the district on many fronts, and too many districts are being destroyed by his efforts. By living the principles of the gospel, districts can experience peace, joy, and a sense of belonging (a quote from Preach My Gospel, modified by replacing the word "family" with "district" and "life" with "mission")
Just a sneak peak of what it looks like inside the planner: First the regular day spread, then the weekly planning -spread.
