Monash University
Clayton Campus, Victoria, Australia
Photographs by [Lady Chaos]
These are photos I took of my university one day, starting from the bus stop near my house. Enjoy!
At the bus stop, a short walk from my house. You can sort of see the hills (the Dandenongs) in the background.
This is a view of some of the bus loop with the Menzies building in the background. It had been raining so the ground looks kind of shiny.
The Law building (the brown one to the left) and the Menzies Building (the grey one).
The Campus Centre, also referred to as the Union Building.
Another shot of the Campus Centre.
The Menzies Building (also known as the "Ming Wing"), as seen from the Campus Centre.
The Menzies Building through some trees.
Yay! The Menzies Building again. I know there's a lot of pictures of it here, but it is the biggest building at Monash, and pretty much the first thing you see when you arrive there. Apparently it used to sway in the wind.
Some of the lawns at Monash... I'm not sure if these are what are known as "The Lemon Scented Lawns".
A walkway somewhere in the sciencey side of Monash.
The Hargrave Andrew Library (the science and engineering library, recently rennovated).
One of the beautiful little peaceful gardens in the science part of Monash.
A particularly pretentious vaguely-scienc
e-related new building called "The Strip". As far as I know, it contains only an expensive cafe and some toilets.
The building where I do my psychology and genetics labs.
Some of the ferns surrounding the "secret entrance" to the Bio/Psych building pictured above.
I think this is one of the medical sciences buildings. It always smells like mice near here.
Possibly the nicest place on campus, this garden is nestled in the science part of Monash, between the Bio/Psych building and the medical sciences building.
Another shot of the same garden... this place is so peaceful!
Another shot of the medical science building, through some trees.
The microbiology building, or something like that. Nice shiny windows!
South One Lecture Theatre.
The Campus Religious Centre (yes, one religious centre for all religions).
The Matheson Library (the library for most things except science).
The ponds between the Matheson Library and the Campus Religious Centre.
Another shot of the ponds. You can see the Menzies Building in the background.
The Rotunda... a round building with about 7 lecture theatres in it.
I think this is an art-related building near the front of Monash. It's flying the Aboriginal flag.
Wholefoods from outside... you can see the shade sails over the outdoor dining area, and the Menzies Building in the background.
It's Wholefoods! This shows the servery window and the restaurant tables.
Wholefoods again! This time you can see the cafe window too.
Only the cafe window of Wholefoods... you can see their motto: "food for people, not profit".
A pathway over near the medical sciences building... just to illustrate how many trees there are at Monash.
