Moonlight in California
Moonlight: Dreams & Demons pt2
After getting home and taking a nap Caitlin backed her bag for work. Remembering the skirt for Gina as her phone rang, it was Gina. "Hey, do you need a ride tonight so I can change into the skirt at your place?" It was obvious that she was already driving and more than likely already more than half way to Caitlin's. She sounded very chipper and excited about the party tonight and possibly beating the Brittany's at the contest.
"Yeah that's fine, it's not a problem." Caitlin says softly into the phone she really didn't like halloween. Not when she had to dress up anyways. But Gina would be there so it shouldn't be all that bad right? it was still the same bar. So it shouldn't be any worse then usual for her to manage even one night closer to the full moon. Gina would have her outfit and even though Caitlin dreaded it she was still going through with it.
The earlier assessment of Gina being halfway to Caitlin's was grossly off, ten minutes later Gina knocked. Once admitted inside she set the bags down and smiled at Caitlin. "I hate Professor Jones and ethics 3, he told me if I started coming to class without underwear he'd see my grade pickup. Dirty old man, anyway, everything in the duffle bag is yours and in right sizes. I couldn't see having you wear the rented stuff, so I picked up a couple things in your size and nothing skanky, we save that of Brittany's! Have you got my skirt?"
"You should save you money Gina and not waste it on me. and MY skirt is hanging in the closet in order of size like all my skirts and shirts are. Where the see through crotch panties and let him get glimpses as long as it's not sex it won't hurt." Caitlin said having just finished brushing her teeth in case they smell like Anthony's perfume, and she was brushing out her by now waist long hair. "I should cut this." She said with a scrunching of her nose. She didn't know why she hadn't cut it since she left the ranch where it was just her and Joe and she hadn't not yet.
"Hank provided the money for your costume, I just made sure it wasn't anything slutty. Thanks for the loan, I know I had a plaid one, but I think my roommate took it. We could cut it to shoulder length before we left." she offered pulling the skirt out of the closet. She was a little surprised that Caitlin would advocate letting the old letch leer at her. "But, today seeing my crotch, tomorrow touching, then UGH! I don't wanna think about it."
"Sit further back in the seats and if he touches you then record it being done and turn him in... after kicking him in the crotch. It's just a peek, not like anything on the internet right? That would be nice I think... I need a shower anyways so hurry up. Just lay out the clothes and I'll put them on after my shower. Here's the scissors." Caitlin says hanfing Gina the scissors and turning around. She could smell Molly heavily on her, and Anthony too. She wanted to wash them both off so it was just her scent for tonight.
"Shoulder length right" Gina cut to the bottom of the shoulders and waited for Caitlin to approve before doing more. She smiled that Cait trusted her like this, it made her feel wanted. "So, what all did you do today while I was toiling away at school?" when she finished the cutting and stepped back. Then she opened the duffle and took out Caitlin and her own costume and started to change. "Oh, anything about the killer? They said he struck again, my mom is freaking out and wants me to lay low until they get him.
"I went to a church and prayed... and asked the priest and he gave me two vials of holy water and told me stay out of dark places. Anthony met with me for lunch... we talked about it apparently it's even effecting his business and the cops think it's some crazy guy with a claw like weapon." Cait says with a shrug handing one vial to Gina of holy water. She then once her hair was cut shook her hair out smiled and walked into the bathroom not bothering to close the door she took a quick shower then changed into the outfit. "What is this exactly Gina?" Cait asked having not really paid too much attention until it was on.
"You know Lara Croft there was two movies and like hundreds of video games." she responded. Knee high boots, mid thigh black shorts and trademark blue tank top. Teamed up with round lens sunglasses and gun belt that strapped to her thighs with prop guns. "I was right babe, you look hot and could easily pass for her." Gina was finishing up putting her hair into pigtail braids and putting on some candy jewelry she picked up today.
"Okay but what's with the gloves and you do realize the shirt is one size to small. These shorts are too high I look worse then the girls on stage! all leg and stomach and arms and cleavage!" Caitlin grimanced when Gina braided her hair, it was just to her shoulder blades but it would do. She did look rather spot on even though she didn't know the character or had ever heard of this Lara Croft woman. "WEll Hank will love it. he always loves the sluttier we come in." Cait sighed softly, she really didn't have a problem with it it would be the men touching her when she was taking drinks around she hated the most.
"Well I used a picture I found on the internet, and remember we ain't far behind the Britt's in money made for the holiday." While she wasn't sure about the prize, the idea of beating the Brittany's appealed to her. Once she finshed her hair and put in the hair ties, she stepped into a pair of thigh high white stockings and a pair of brown leather saddle shoes. "Well, what do you think?" she asked biting her thumb nail while playing with her hair. They needed to hurry so they could get to the club and get their instructions for the night.
"I don't know, who are you supposed to look like?" Caitlin asked softly, she didn't want to be mean but she rarely watched movies and watched the news more often then anything. Sometimes she had caught the ame of MArcus's wolf pack being caught with Meth. But it was in DC, not the state but the city so it was far enough Cait was still safe. As for tonight she just wanted it to be over with. Instructions from Hank would be the same as always serve the customer fast and don't spill any drinks.
"Just a catholic schoolgirl, lots of guys like the look." she shook her head. Caitlin just seemed so sheltered sometimes, but it made her seem naive in retrospect. She tucked the small vial of holy water into the waist of the skirt. "So, your friend showing up tonight at the club?" she asked very curious. She grabbed her clutch and car keys and waited for Caitlin to announce she was ready to go.
"I don't know." Caitlin said with a shrug before putting her wallet in her back pocket and her name tag on where-ever she could find to put it. Grabbing a long coat she nodded she was ready and got the keys to the apartment. Well keys was an understatment. She only had one key on a ring. But still she didn't mind and she waited for Gina to leave the apartment before she locked the door and the deadbolt. "Besides when does anyone I know tell me anything, even Robin sneaks up on me as you well know." Cait says having almost gotten run over by Robins car once.
"I like your Aunt, she seems nice and I see the way you've drooled when she brings something she cooked at home, especially the chilli and cornbread." They walked down to her car and headed toward the club it was a little brisk, but when they arrived the club looked like it was getting busy. As soon as they got out of Gina's car, Caitlin noticed the police watching the entry. More than likely the officer was already inside, and watching the people file in. "Something up babe?" Gina asked turning to see why Caitlin fell behind.
"Shush! I love Joe's food and she's the only one who can make any of it the right way. No just checking the back, wondering if there's more policemen. Let's just say... I'm trying to be cautious is all. You should to no breaks out back tonight okay? Just to be safe." Caitlin says blushing softly at trying to see if James was at this club and would see her in this slinky outfit or not especially after today and all that had happened and how Molly had taken to her.
Gina stopped short turned towards the van Caitlin was looking at and blew it a kiss. "ALright I won't be sneaking out the back and I assume you'll do the same." She wrapped her arm in Caitlin's and marched them towards the employee entrance. "I won't argue the chilli was great and the cornbread was worth any extra pounds it caused. So, when if ever will I get to meet Joe? I mean he seems so important to you."
"I don't know... he doesn't often come over here. When he does it's for a specific reason usually. He's... like my father... he taught me how to live properly. Robin checks on me too to make sure I'm alright. I had a rough childhood. So those two really are my family. I mean of course Aunt Robin is but... so is Joe." Caitlin said going to the side door to get in. They would have the early meeting before opening the bar. Plus they had to double sheck everything. Halloween was always the most bothersom Caitlin though. Maybe one day she'd show up in her half wolf form. She never would but it was a thought she had while walking inside.
Inside the club was controlled chaos already the girls not working the night shift were running here and there. The Brittany's where dressed as coed mummies wrapped with ace bandages, but showing some cleveage and leg. "Oh, wow." was a lot of the comments about the costumes. Before Hank came back he had another girl poke her head back to make sure everyone was dressed and ready. Once the coast was clear he came in and smiled, he was dressed as a gorilla in a hawaiian shirt with a big bannanna.
Once inside Caitlin tried hard to shut out the sensory overload of the girls and the costumes and what they had done in them already. Thank goodness the Brittany's didn't smell like the wounded, they smelled fresh clean for the most part anyways. Cait shifted a little and the way the gun straps rubbed her thighs made her frown maybe she had them on wrong or something. Oh well it wouldn't cause any damadge her skin wouldn't heal quickly enough. She did roll her eyes at hank though and the bad smell of his suit.
Brittany T. Came up to Caitlin in a rush, "Guess what, we saw the police man they have in here tonight, and is he ever cute." Brittany C. nodded her agreement and waved her hand like she was hot. Gina scoffed, "How do you two know some hot guy is our cop for the evening?" "Simple he is wearing a badge and has a.....gun." C. noticed the props on Caitlin. Both girls turned red as Gina almost fell on the floor laughing.
"Alright ladies, a couple quick things before you four start. The police are here and they will be watching for that guy. They might ask you to talk to someone, or tell them what they ordered, he will show you his badge so help him. And after a recount last night, Brittany T. leads Caitlin by sixty bucks and Gina by ninety. Thank you guys for your hard work, I know it isn't always easy."
"Ever easy. Will you send us out and get our tables for the night. The girls want releif and we're eager to get out there!" Caitlin says folding her arms but in this outfit she had to do it under her breasts pushing them up higher adding more cleavage, not that she really noticed but in this outfit a lot of things were different and she wouldn't notice her shorts riding a little higher and her shirt showing her stomach and more cleavage as the night went by.
Hank then turned and left them to finish getting ready for the shift, Gina seemed distracted and frankly a little nervous. In fact all the servers in the changing room right then did. Would the fact that tonight was Halloween bring the killer here to the house of fog. With so many people here and no concrete identity for the killer, even male or female made everyone a little nervous. Gina turned to the other girls and passed along Caitlin's warning, "No breaks out back tonight, go out our entrance to smoke and take someone you know with you."
Not long into the night Gina's costume choice for her and Caitlin made them very popular with the customers. Many wanted pictures with Lara Croft, and a lot of guys tipped Gina for a hug and a nibble on her candy necklace. Brittany T. Suddenly semed to fall behind the others because her costume had a duplicate. As Caitlin set down drinks for a group of superheros she caught a scent. As she collected the money she realized an earlier concern was there, James was the detective inside the house of fog tonight.
Deciding to avoid James as much as possible she begged Gina to take the table with the cop and instead tried to follow the scent she had picked up. If it was the demons then it was coming in for a face full of holy water and a werewolf surprise. She'd rip the damn things head off if she had to. Though still not knowing who she was dressed as and getting pictures wasn't so bad. She just hoped none went to that online place and that MArcus wasn't there snooping around. Though why he would search for a character named Lara Croft was beyond her still she worried.
She kept getting wafts of James and wasn't positive if she smelled the demon yet. After setting down two beers for a man dressed as dracula, she felt a tap on her shoulder. James was behind her, "Excuse me miss, I need you to tell me what the man at the corner booth has ordered." She had dropped a offhanded drink that Mel had to look up on how to make it. Gina was across the way and noticed that the cop Caitlin had been making her help was asking her for help.
"Uh sure he ordered a specialty mixed drink. It was cocanut rum in it, pomagranite juice, orange juice, Jack daniels number 48 I think and some mountain dew mixed together. Odd combination if you ask me." Caitlin says softly ticking the items off after tucking the tray under one arm. She rubbed her thighs together again. Those straps must have been done wrong cause it hurt. She could tel she was healing as much as they were rubbing skin off on the inside of her thigh. " I think it was called a hang man's? Or something like that." She said before finally turning around. Kind of hoping he wouldn't notice it was her and kinda hoping he would.
His eyes went a little wide, then he saw he costume and regained his composure. He was dressed in police body armor and she could see his detective's shield and a name tag that said 'Leon Kennedy' and the letters RPD were in white on his back. "So this is where you work, I like your costume, but I think the holster straps are wrong. Would you like a little help?" She could smell that his gun was no prop, he was armed and possibly expecting trouble.
"Er... maybe we should go in the back room for anything like that. I'll have Gina cover me hang on a sec... Leon." Cait teases softly before hurrying over to Gina "Gina take over for a few secs the cop wants to talk privatly in the back about some guy." She says softly so no one would hear. After all Hank had said cooperate with the cops. While the smell of James himself was there the extra smell of his prepared weapons she didn't like so much. But she hadn't caught a whiff of that demon here yet. so she thought for a moment only it would be okay.
Gina smiled, "Cool as long as you let me know if he tries anything, not like you should stop him." Both Brittanys noticed that he had been speaking to Caitlin and had quizzical looks. The DJ was continuing to play some really great music to dance to and the floor was packed. James was waiting for her exactly where she left him, and keeping an eye on the people milling about. She heard him say something about switching off his wire a second as she came back to him.
"Okay come on this way officer." Caitlin smiled softly taking him back behind the bar and into the back room. It was empty and the lockers were closed and all had locks on them. Only her's didn't. She rarely brought anything to put in the locker. in fact all it held tonight was a light jacket because that was human. She shouldn't be as heated as she was if she were human but that didn't matter. "So Leon the man in the back corner... he's a suspect?" Cait asks as she fidgets again at the straps. It wasn't only that either where the ones on her side were had started to dig in as well. Guns and their holsters were complicated. These were just nylon straps and such and apparently she'd done it all wrong.
"He fits certain criteria as do a couple others." James said as he pulled the guns from her holsters and loosened the straps. He knelt down and began re doing the setup, his fingers brushing against the inside and outside of her thighs. "Nice costume by the way, and you got your hair cut for the occasion I see." Not really thinking he laid his palm against the inside of her left thigh as he returned one of her guns back to its holster. "There, how does that feel? I hope much better than before." he asked looking up into her eyes.
"A lot better!! um... while we're doing this mind helping with the rest of the get up too. Gina picked it up but I've never heard of Lara Croft before. As for my hair well... It was too long and I had Gina cut it for me. I prefer shoulder length for pony tails and braids. IT makes it easier I think." Caitlin had winced at the contact of sore flesh against his hand, but refused to make any noise to worry him. It would heal in minutes. "It's really digging in my sides... all this fake ammo..." Cait said pointing to the harness she was in. Something was off but she didn't know what maybe he would. "How did it go with the social worker lady?"
He reached up to her waist and undid the gun belt and made a couple adjustments, trying his best not to stare directly at her crotch while he did so. "Who knows she comes and goes, inspected the house, every room and even Molly's shot records. To be completely honest, when you showed up Caitlin it was like a weight lifted off my chest. She had mentioned the last time about the lack of female interaction with Molly." He looked up after adjusting the belt and buckled it, almost letting his hands linger on her.
"If you'd like on my days off I'll visit the park for my jogs again. I live closer now so... it won't be a bother and if you're there then... we can viit for a little while. this may be awekward but can you look at my thigh where the strap was resting... it almost feels... like it rubbed through and I'm bleeding..." Caitlin says softly blushing for really no reason at all accept it had felt a little like something had trailed down her leg and she knew she wasn't excited enough for it to be her own juice.
"Um, sure I know Molly would love to see you, she practiced saying your name for awhile after you left. And I know it would do me some good to be around a woman over the age of eighteen for a little while." He undid the strap and softly stroked his finger up and down where the skin showed some irritation. "No, no blood, its a little warm and red from before but, it still looks amazing." He suddenly looked a little aghast for having said that out loud, like he might have offened her.
"It's fine. I don't regret it you know... I just really don't have much time in my life for... something complicated right now." Cait said softly smiling gently at James before kissing his lips lightly. "Don't worry about offending me. Worry about catching this monster first." Caitlin said once the clasp was redone she smiled brightly. The man in the back corner is just depressed he was fired today. And apparently his woman left him recently." Caitlin said softly as she adjusted her clothing though it didn't need it and then walked towards the door.
Knowing what he was about to do could lead to him getting in a little hot water, James couldn't stop himself. He grabbed Caitlin and pressed her up against the locker and kissed her back. It wasn't a long kiss, but it was what he had wanted to do since this morning when she came jogging up. If the reward for catching the killer was a chance for them to see each other more often. Then he'd find and put the cuffs on him or her somehow, he broke the kiss only slightly and took a deep breath.
It was pure shock that made Caitlin not fight back against James when he made him move and she moaned softly. Being dominated was what a feamle wolf needed. "I... er we have to work James. WE spent to much time in here already." Caitlin said softly though now she wanted more. She wanted him to say no and keep her there. She wanted... well it didn't matter she quickly got ahold of herself and smiled at him. "After you catch that monster killing girls." She says softly before quickly ducking under his arm and leaving out the door back into the loud nooise and human wall of utter chaos.
He composed himself and slipped back out into the group, switching back on his wire and earpiece. Out of the corner of his eye he noticed a few new faces and started mentally going over the checklist in his mind. Caitlin once back to work, could smell it, the demon had arrived the sickly smell of ink wafted around the room. Gina was setting a drink down in front of a new patron and smiled at him. And James was apparently checking out the new people for his perp.
Caitlin got back to work but she sought out the demon. She promised Anthony no attacking but if it was here with the intent to kill she would give it one hell of a fight. One either of them might not come back from. She sniffed to find the demon hoping he wouldn't be so elusive this time. His scent would give him away without a worry. Especially so close to the full moon.
The Demon knew that it was being hunted, bith by the human police and also the werewolf in the building. It kept on the move looking for tonight's meal and how best to avoid those who strove to stop it. The waitress the cute redhead dressed as a naughty schoolgirl was tempting, until the wolf's scent tickled its nose. Finally on the dance floor he saw a meal and more, the girl in the pink wig and dressed like an naughty space girl. A sick smile crossed its face, she was pregnant and probably didn't know, the combined essences would sustain it for two to three weeks tops.
Caitlin had no choice. She let her eyes go a little wolven, sharper eyesight sharper scent tracking ability. There his trace. It was sharper. Much sharper. She could track it now. Track it and stop it. Any way she had to. She knew she was letting her pressence be known to the DEmon. Like a beacon now. It was close... it was... dance floor. It was on a dance floor. Caitlin grabbed Gina. "He's here... The cop I dated... he was the one questioning me. You said you wanted to know... well... now is as good as you'll get to question him." Caitlin sayss softly into Gina's ear wanting them both safe. and out of the way... busy to deal with the monster. Once leaving her she took the small knife she always carried and made a small cut on her arm. Fresh blood would attract the beast and the power she weilded would surely be an attractive offer if the beast thought it could win.
He stopped up short as he was talking to the girl, the werewolf's blood was power but too much of a fight. Whispering in the pink haired's ear, "How about we go out back, for some fun?" The girl shook her head and they started filtering through the crowd. It was so packed that they almost disappeared behind a wall of bodies. Gina was trying to get out in the direction of James who was somewhere behind the mass of bodies.
Caitlin followed them closely as she could. The cut had healed already and was just a red mark. She'd have to fight him. Out back where there was a police van. Shit. She didn't like this. Why did the demon pick this place on this night! She was an expert getting through crowds by now and was close but waited. Her eyes glowing faintly. She would wait for his first move. Then she would strike once he threatened bodily harm on the girl.
Her ears picked up the voices outside the fire door, "Freeze LAPD, step away from the girl!" Then the crowd began to panic as gunfire erupted outside the door and as Caitlin got close she saw James fly backward and crash into grabage cans. The house lights came on and Hank came across the speakers instructiong everyone to stay away from the rear door and file outside in an orderly fashion. Caitlin heard Brittany T. crying and noticed the girl had been knocked to the floor and was trying not to be trampled by the mob. Gina, having more sense had hoped up onto the bar and was scannning the room for her co-workers.
Caitlin had no choice she ran to the back door and glanced out to see what the demon was doing. She had the vial of holy water in her hands. She hoped James was alright and she did smell blood from him but not much. She needed to save the girl and chase off the demon. "And Though the devil possessed was before him Jesus took in stride the faith of his father and faced him with no fear." She quoted the bible before uncorking the holy water. REady to leap into the fray and chase the demon off.
She could smell that same inky smell, but the demon was gone, leaving the space girl laying on some crates. James struggled to his feet and pulled a back up weapon, "Caitlin make sure she's ok and get inside. Bravo-five to Alpha-six contact made shots fired, perp fled possibly wearing body armor." He headed the only way the demon could have fled, only Caitlin knew the creature was long gone. And she could hear the police converging on the alley from inside the club and the alley.
Corking the smallish vial and hiding it in her ammo packs. going over to the girl. "Ma'am!? Are you alright?" Caitlin asks checking over the girl with everything she posessed. But she didn't know how to save anyone. So if she was injured they'd have to get a medic or someone who knew how to help. The smell of ink but no blood... only human blood. From James and the girl... her own arm completely healed already as if she had never cut herself. She'd have another talk with Anthony soon since this was the second night the demon came to feed at the club.
James met the other cops at the mouth of the alley, "Did you see him? about five, six and one hundred, fifty pounds, spread out and be careful he's wearing body armor. Get lead and ambulance, female victim and call for CSI as well." Then he went back to Caitlin and the girl back in the alley, finding Caitlin trying to waken the comatose girl. His back and shoulders were killing him and he needed to find his gun. It didn't seem possible that the perp could have hit him so hard or send him that far back.
"Jame's your hurt!" Caitlin says once james knelt beside her. The girl wouldn't wake and there was blood from her head. It was a concussion or damadge but there was a pulse there. "Her head's been hit don't move her. She's got a pulse but it's not as strong as it should be. Come on sweety wake up..." Caitlin gave JAmes the information she knew and again tapped the girl very lightly on the cheek. If it was a concussion she needed to be awake. Meanwhile James needed some medical attention too but she couldn't do anything.
A short while later the house of fog was a hub of activity. Medical services took the comatose girl to the hospital, and Mike had officers taking statements. Another ambulance arrived and following orders was checking over James. The detective sargent was finishing up talking to Caitlin. "Is there anything else you can remember?" he asked making notes in his notebook.
"He looked at a bunch of different girls before deciding on that girl. There didn't seem to be a pattern he went from blonds to pink hair to brunettes and blue hair. But it did look like he was sniffing them almost. HE didn't order a single drink either." Caitlin said trying to be helpful but knowing they would not be able to do anything to stop the demon. HEll she was trying to stop the demon. She felt silly though in that outfit talking to this detective sergeant man. "Is that officer all right?" She asked almost calling him by name but catching her tongue in time from letting that slip.
Mike smiled at her, "I see since you're more interested in my partner you forgot who I am." He chuckled, she had glanced that way several times while they were talking. "Everything you remembered was helpful, I have nothing further if you wanna go see how hard Banner's head is." Another officer cam e up and handed James's gun to him in an evidence bag. He also informed that all Banner's brass had been recovered and the perp left no weapon behind.
"Sorry Mike... he was going under a different name inside so I just thought... you know... so How is your daughter doing and her family?" Caitlin asked remembering the one day she spent in the office when they were going after her missing persons report. She didn't know she was allowed to call them by name now. But once Mike gave the go ahead she decided to be civil. "Please... um don't think down on my cause I work here... I'm just a waitress and it pays good money." She says softly blushing brightly looking up at him. Hoping he wouldn't spread it around. Even Robin didn't know where she was working just that it was a bar and it was safe as vouched for by Anthony.
"Don't worry if anything I know about discrection, your secret is safe with me. They are doing pretty well, my wife is keeping Molly while we work, she loves kids especially Molly." He handed her the clipboard so she could sign her statement. "So, we can head down to check on my partner or I can release you to go home or at least back inside, your boss is rather worried about you. And you have nothing to worry about, you aren't stripping or having sex for money, waitressing is honest work."
"I'd like to check on James... He's not worried about me he wants me to help keep the crowd calm and start selling drinks again. I'm his best waitress and he always tries to get me to work more. He's even asked me to take some of the patrons offers of doing more intimate things. I almost socked him for that one." Caitlin said snearing because it still made her angry to this day. She was glad molly was well taken care of though and that Mike in some way approved and was okay with all of this.
Sitting just inside the rear door of the ambulance was James and an EMT discussing the merits of concussions and the condition of 'space girl'. He managed a slight smile when she reached them, "Mike all done getting your statement?" The EMT had something else, it just never registered in his head. This was the second time instead of fleeing from danger she headed into it. James was about to bring this up when he saw Lt. Randle ducking the yellow tape, "Aw, shit, here comes trouble!"
"James are you okay? How's the girl? Don't tell me your fine either I saw the blood." Cait said though she was lying, she had smelled his blood on him. Not seen it. She looked from James to the EMT guy and then a quick glance at the human coming their way. Trouble was the demon... this human walked like he though everyone should bow in his pressence. But he was no alpha and she stood taller and ignored him entirely after one passing sniff of him and his attitude. She wanted answers to her questions.
"Just a little jacked and a possible, quote possible concussion, the girl was drugged with something, but should recover." he told her being truthful. Mike had went to intercept Randle and hopefully there wasn't go to be a fight here in front of everyone here. "Maybe right now might not be a good time to introduce you to my new boss." he said standing up with a slight wobble. Mike of course had to hand over his forty-five, so CSI could verify the spent rounds. Good thing he had the SIG as back up tucked under his body armor in back.
"Woah! Hey if you have a concussion you really shouldn't be moving around to much!" Caitlin says grabbing James arm and steadying him as he got up and out of the EMT back. A drug on the girl... some kind of paralizing toxin maybe? She'd ask Anthony later. As for the whole boss thing she couldn't give a damn if the man was a king James had a concussion and was in no condition to be walking around and jumping around. OR yelled at and pushed and other things she had seen cops do to one another. If need be she would speak to this boss.
Randle was dressed in a grey suit with matching tie and white dress shirt. He had dark hair and hazel eyes, his features were set in a permanent scowl. Surveying the scene, he quickly motioned to Mike to fill him in. His tone was angry and Caitlin could hear most of it was aimed at James. Beside her James was watching right back knowing his hope that no fight might be in vain.
Caitlin almost growled but didn't. What the hell was this guys problem none of this was James's fault it was all hers. She didn't get to the demon in time to stop him. She still held James to make sure the man didn't do something rash like... walk away fast or try to punch the arrogent bastard coming their way. Man even his voice was annoying to Cait. Just like MArcus. SMug and suppieror... as if no one else was important enough to bother with.
"Somehow I knew it would be you at the center of all this chaos Banner." Randle ignored Caitlin completely, focusing on the junior detective; whom he blamed for all this. Mike walked up beside him and looked concerned at how things were shaping up. The Lieutenant had been on James's ass since he was transfer from Oakland. Both of them had Randle near the top of the list of people that called welfare.
Caitlin kept a firm grip on James when she felt him tense up. "Excuse me sir but who the hell do you think you are?!" Caitlin asks not taking kindly at all to being ignored. and if she could cause this guy some distraction from his anger being directed toward JAmes then she would do what she could. Besides James had a mild concussion. He should be off duty for a week at least, paid leave. That much she knew. She hated this type of man.
James found his balance and retorted, "It may not have been by your book sir. But, now we have a witness and valuable information about our perp." Randle made a motion prompting James to continue. "He is, or was either wearing body armor or high on drugs. And knows how to use paralytics, maybe some sort of doctor."
"Not a doctor." Caitlin says instantly once James suggested it. "But deffinetly some kind of drug." She said having gotten a good look over the girl and a good whiff of the demon on her. She was knocked out by... something. Something the demon had done but it wasn;t a bite or a shot. That much Caitlin could attest to. "Ask your paramedics they won't find any needle marks on her." Caitlin said glaring at all the men. Letting go of James quickly and taking a step back. If he was going to ignore her like all the rest were then she was telling them that and leaving. She turned on her heal and began to head for the back door.
"And exactly who is she? the reason you switched off your wire Banner? You were supposed to be watching for a killer not romancing some bimbo waitress, hoping she'd be a mommy for your brat!" Anything else he wanted to say was muffled by James punching him with enough force to send him backwards into the trash. "Mother Fucker, don't you dare talk about them like that!" he shouted loosing his balance right after. Officers started from every direction hoping to keep this from escalating.
Caitlin stopped dead in her tracks and turned around. Moving closer to the action. Putting herself in the middle of the two men who were parted. "Bimbo Waitress?! I'm the one who found the fucking killer!! I'm the one who was watching and sent him after the man! I'm the one who gave you all the details you now have you asshole and another thing! Talk about Molly like that again and you'll regret it!" Caitlin said getting up in Randle's face before punching him in the gut hard. "At least I'm not a self rightious bigotted hard ass who has something to prove of himself to only his fucking whore of a mother!!" Caitlin says her eyes Wolf Amber as her anger flared clearly. She was nearly shouting at the end of it all. What a dick. She longed to kick his ass hard and show him who the alpha was.
Mike grabbed her and put himself between Caitlin and Randle, who was sucking hard trying to get wind. "Miss you need to calm and get James out of here, before he is able to form the words to arrest you for assualting a police man." He motioned to Lee Yun to help them get James and Caitlin away before they both wound up in cells for the night. James had gotten back on his feet and was a little surprised that Caitlin was so quick to go after Randle. He took her arm and leaned close, "Come on, I think he learned not to mess with you, let me buy you something to eat to say thanks, and the fact you may need to drive for me, ok?"
"I can't! It's illegal! Through the house of Fog come on! Gina will give us a ride!" Cait said pulling JAmes through the back entrance quickly though careful not to move so fast so it wouldn't harm him. "GINA!" She yelled quickly once inside. The place was rather subdued with cops inside and interviewing people. " We need a ride we're hungry!" She said with urgency to stop Gina from flirting with the cop and help them. It really was an emergency. What was going to happen... she had just assulted the leader of authorities here in the city! "Oh god!" She said softly as the realization hit her. She had just reacted on instinct earlier.
He handed Yun the keys to the car he used and an order to get it Mike before they met Gina. Hank had already told them the club was closing for the night and they could all go home. Gina went to the back to grab their stuff and headed out to the car. "You still don't have your license?" he asked with a small smile as they walked to Gina's VW. He was still impressed that she could throw a mean gut punch and made a mental note not to have her ever hit him.
"Not enough time with two jobs. Got my GED though." Cait said as they hurried into Gina's car. Cait got in the back with James to keep him awake and focused. "Might wanna hurry Gina we kinda had a brawl with the big boss." Caitlin said with a smile at her friend. She automatically put her seatbelt on though and looked at James to see if he needed help with his or not. She'd never actually helped anyone. She was just glad he didn't smell like meat. Though that did remind her getting food after work was still something they would need to do. "Wanna go by the diner Gina? they keep it open later on the weekends." Caitlin offered.
"Brawl, gunfire and panic. sounds like a normal work night, hi by the way I'm Gina." she said throwing the car into reverse and backing out. She pointed the car for the diner and put her foot on the gas, it wouldn't take too long to get there. James glanced at her and smiled, he was getting tired but was feeling pretty good she was so close. "So, I'm gonna have to go seven hours to get out of the concerned zone, you planning on hanging out with me that long?" He yawned at the end and took her hand into his and squeezed lightly.
"Yes. First food and then to my place. You can crash too Gina... I don't think there will be work tomorrow at the club. At least I hope the cops won't let Hank use this oppertunity to bring in customers. She squeezed his hand. "Don't fall asleep... I want Molly to have her Daddy until she's married and has her own babies." Caitlin says to keep James focused. The diner would feed her to help her deal with this and well as embaressing as the outfit was at least the food was good and it would waste an hour at least of the seven hours they had to go.
Gina smiled at the rear view only Caitlin noted she was trying to figure out why she wanted her to stay. They turned into the diner lot and they got out and went inside. "I need to go use the bathroom, I'll be right back." James said and went towards the men's room. Gina watched him go and looked at Caitlin, "You dated him and why aren't you still seeing him? I mean it can't be no attraction, I saw how he looks at you and you seem rather interested."
"I can't... Look you know about those things I don't tell you... well he would want to know and eventually find out and then... then my life would be ruined. Besides he has a two year old and being friends is better for them. For me. For everyone. Come on to a table." Caitlin said getting the menu's seeing as the waitress was busy and sitting down at a table with it's back protected by the kitchen and able to see the whole resturant. She was rarely a customer, it was strange to sit here even though she picked out this spot long ago. She already knew what she wanted... the monster burger as they had nicknamed it, with water and maybe fried pickles tonight.
"So, you two have....." she let it trail off, more than once Caitlin had cuaght her reading a romance novel. "I mean why would it be ruined if he learned about you, maybe it would enrich it?" She opened the menu and started looking over things. James came out of the bathroom and came thought a minute were to sit and decided on Caitlin. "So, what do they make good here?" he asked smiling at her.
"Everything. This is my other part time job I waitress at. Here comes Jenny now..." Caitlin said smiling at the young waitress, wondering who she had gotten to watch her young child for the night. but it didn't really matter. They all needed food and comfort and that was what Caitlin was going to give them all. If she could Gina might be fine... she didn't see anything at all... so she might be fine to go home. But Caitlin had offered to be polite.
Jenny smiled, "Hi Caitlin and friends, what can I get you guy's to drink?" She was very genuine and had an infectious smile and loved her little boy implicately. Gina ordered diet pepsi and James wanted iced tea with lemon, "Water for you right sweetie? I'll give you all a minute to look over the menu while I get the drinks ok." James put his hand to his forehead, obvious he had a headache starting.
"Take it easy... don't try to read it all too fast. Here's the hamburger section." Caitlin said pointing it out to James so he wouldn't have to do to much reading. The headache wouldn't go away for days though and he could take some medicine if they hadn't already given him some. Maybe they would spend more then an hour here. Jenny was sweet and didn't have a hint of anything bad on her. Other then she rode the bus. Everything about her seemed kind and hopeful almost.
"So, James, do you have a picture of your little girl?" Gina asked sweetly while watching Caitlin nuture him. He smiled and took out his wallet and removed the picture of him and Molly in a picture booth Caitlin remembered from the pier. Gina smiled after ordering a grilled cheese and cup of soup, "She is precious!" James thanked her and ordered the bacon cheeseburger and fried pickles. "Are they any good?" he asked Caitlin, putting his wallet away.
"Another monster burger for me please Jenny, and yes Mark makes the best. He chooses the coldest ones in the back of the fridge unit and deep fries them. When they get to the table they are still cold in the center and hot on the outside. Molly and James is who I told you about Gina. Remember the story when I was jogging in the park." Caitlin said not knowing why Gina was giving him the blonde treatment. She also knew they'd slept together. sometimes Caitlin wondered about Gina.
"Yeah, but there is a difference between your description and seeing them. So, when wil she be three James?" Gina sometimes sucked at small talk, but she could see why Caitlin was attracted to him. "November twentith, I'm trying to figure out something in the way of a birthday party, but the list is a little thin. If you two would like to come, I know she'd be thrilled." he felt sheepish, or it was the knock on the head. Jenny took the orders and hurried back to the kitchen.
"I'll have to check my calander but... I would like to come yes..." Caitlin said softly, knowing Molly liked her a lot already and trusted her. It was instict on both of their parts. Molly knew Caitlin would protect her and Caitlin knew she would let no harm come to Molly. She hoped the birthday wasn't on a full moon. But if it was she would buy something apppropriete and come as soon as she could.
"Great." he said with a warm smile and they chatted more until the food came. James had to be prodded a couple times as he nodded a little, he opened his wallet and handed Jenny a credit card to pick up the check. "Wow, that's very nice of you to do James, thank you." she said pulling a couple dollars and leaving the tip for Jenny, who did a great job for them. Mark waved from the back, but had no chance to come out and say hello as James signed the slip and put his card away.
Caitlin waved back to MArk in the back and she had finished her burger quickly and ate two of the pickles letting james have the rest. "they will give you a discount for my being here don't worry." Caitlin told James patting his shoulder gently. The poor man looked tired and almost half dead on his feat. Caitlin would keep him awake though. She felt it was her job for not stopping the demon before he got to the back door.
Gina drove them back to Caitlin's apartment, "Here you guy's go, How are you gonna get home in the morning James? I'd offer, but I have a prior commitment and won't be available." She smiled at Caitlin and winked hoping she could muddle through with the handsome cop tonight. James waved her off, "I can get a cab if I have to or call Mike. I just appreciate the ride Gina."
Caitlin gave her the bird while helping James out of the car. "Be careful on your way home Gina!" She cautioned. Always worrying about the friend she had made. More and more people and places were begining to take her scent. More and more she was marking out a territory in the lower city. "Come on I'm on the second floor. Only a couple more hours then you can rest. You might want to call Molly though and let her know you're okay and staying at someone's house." Caitlin said to JAmes it was something to do so that he could keep busy for a little while. She knew conversations with children between parents always took a little while no matter how old the child.
"More than likely my two year old is asleep, I will text Mike and let him know in case he needs me. Nice place been here long?" he asked being glad she was giving him a little help to navigate the steps. Once she opened the door he smiled, she decorated rather sparsely. "So, your gonna keep me up another four hours, any good at rummy?" he teased trying to keep things light. He took out his phone and quickly sent the message to Mike who aknowledged and told him there was some stuff they needed to talk about.
"No... But Robin gave me yahtzee and Gina gave me sex monopoly... though I read it and still don't get it. But she laughed a lot when I opened it. I have regular monopoly too though and Uno. HEr sit on the couch." Cait said it was an old couch obviously already broken is. She got in at a good will and it smelled like her because she rubbed it down firmly with her own scent. She had no other seats an old coffee table she was held by one end by a plastic box. She had a little round table near the kitchen and two chair neither one matched and the appliances came with the apartment. HEr bedroom door was closed but the bathroom was small with only a shower and toilet and sink and not much room. She had nothing on the walls and only a small television and no computer. HEr phone was hanging on the wall and that seemed to be the whole of Caitlins place.
"Sex monopoly? Never heard of it, or would you rather just talk?" he asked taking a seat beside her. He quickly undid his body armor and cleared out his back up putting them on the floor. Once he was in just the BDU pants and tee shirt he wore under the armor he was more comfortable. Caitlin's place was sparse and could really use a couple newer pieces of furniture. Quietly he ticked through the storage unit's contents and what he could have her take off his hands.
"Talking is good. I don't know how the sex monopoly works anyways so I think it would be a mess. What would you like to talk about though? I mean... there isn't much..." Caitlin said trailing off. in fact there was... like why she suddenly stopped taking his calls... and why she was working two very fdifferent jobs and working so often. They were both full time. Why she was in such a small apartment that was so shabby and run down. There was a lot of things he could ask her.
"It wasn't just the job that had you not taking my calls was it?" he asked. They had sex even before a first date and while he tried to keep that second date from going there, they wound up having sex on the bluff. The apartment didn't concern him as much, she was young and starting out. He lived on base until Sandra and him rented the house and got married. James was trying to focus on getting that answer but he felt that uge to close his eyes and sleep.
"Because my path to the future is blocked with obstacles and demons. No... I stopped taking your calls because I was afraid something might happen. Whether good or bad... mostly bad... because things in my life are always bad. Right now is the best time I've ever had. Living here working where I do knowing the people I know. IT's never been better but... This killer. IT's my fault I should have stopped him at the door." Caitlin sighs putting her hand in his and giving it a firm squeeze to make him focus on her.
"Your not a cop, Caitlin, and after last night this guy knows he might get shot at." He kept his eyes open and on her, "And sometimes the best way to get over an obstacle is someone giving you a boost or helping hand. You're a good person and I have never been happier on a date then with you." She was too down on herself for her past, and worried it would follow her about. "You have nothing to do with the killer, don't blame yourself for the evil others do."
"No but I knew he would be there... I had a feeling." She sighed and stood up. "Come on to the kitchen to get something to drink!" She said smiling brightly. She didn't want to talk about her life. Her evils. How much she was trying to make up for in her new life here. She didn't realize she was still in the costume from the party but she was comfertable and didn't seem to mind. She had tea and coffee and water. Cream for the coffee and that was it. She didn't even have milk because she never ate cereal. "I'll make you some coffee." She smiled down at him from her standing position.
He got up and followed her, finding it hard to believe she blamed herself for the killer's actions. "I apparently adjusted the gunbelt and holsters pretty well." He leaned against the counter and wtached her make the coffee, "So, with two jobs how come some of your furniture could use some fixing up?" It was a nice apartment, Molly would be a holy terror here wanting to look around. "I'll take mine with two sugars and no creamer, thanks." he smiled moving close to her.
"Robin and Gina said I had to have furniture and a television and things. Robin said just having a bed and clothes in the dresser doesn't make a home. So I found them in some dumpsters and the good will and got cheap stuff. I have to save up because I'm getting close. Then I just have to find the land... and save up while it's being fixed up for the appliances." Caitlin said happily as she ground the beans by hand before putting them in a filter and pouring hot water in and compressing it turning it on. Robin bought it as a house warming present. It was the most expensive item in the room.
"Dumpsters? I have a few things in storage and could really part with them so I'm not spending so much in rent for the units. A couch, love seat and nice coffee table, its yours if you want." he whispered placing his hand on her wrist so he could feel her pulse against his finger. He knew she wanted her own restuarant or bar and thought it was a worthy hope. The coffee smelled really good and would help keep them up at least an hour or two. In the back of his mind he wanted to kiss her again like they did at the club.
"No I... I couldn't take them... I don't want to spend much money and I wouldn't feel right just taking them from you. I can live with what I have... it may not be much but it's all I need. Besides I can start soon on my cafe bar. I've even started looking at some of the buildings around here. In my spare time that is." Caitlin says with a small chuckle because her spare time was when she was running to work usually. But she bought a book on relastate and what was around nearby.
"You can take them, because I need to move the remaining stuff into a smaller unit. That would mean less money and it would be god all around." he touched her face and smiled. It was a simple thing to offer it all to her, and hopefully she would think it a good thing. Anything to get her thinking positive, cause he wasn't lying she was a good person. "I'm about to do something and if it offends you, I'm blaming the head trauma." he said before leaning over to kiss her again.
Caitlin moaned softly, his lips his touch his smell it was intoxicating. She was afraid she would taint him. Rub off some of the bad luck in life she had gotten. Accepting suck things from him... if he really needed to get rid of them she would accept. One of her hands trembling reached up and held his shirt over his heart. Her eyes closed she was a willing participant of the kiss. This is what she was afraid of. She liked him... She LIKED him. That wasn't good... with demons running around and Anthony and her times of the month.
He unbuckled her gunbelt and let it fall to the ground and brought his other hand under her shirt to the small of her back. James couldn't help himself, Caitlin and him just seemed to connect and get closer together. Don't go to fast, he told himself over and over. Maybe that is something that scared her off, don't act like this is the only reason you like her. Continuing the kiss he drew her closer, focused on staying awake to talk more to her.
HEr body was firmer, and more toned from all her running. The belt hung from her thighs in the holsters there and she moved until their stomached touched. Which meant her breasts her against his chest and her hips in those tiny shorts were against his uniform pants. While the Coffee machine was putting out a strong good smell and a bubbling noise. Caitlin was drowning in what was James.
Sliding his hands lower he unbuckled the holsters and once they clattered to the ground he lifted her up ont the counter and kept holding her close to him. He made the kiss deeper, massaging her tongue with his and her thighs in his hands. No sex tonight, he was going to be strong, they could kiss and touch and whisper things to each other. His heartbeat picked up and try as he might to fight it he became aroused with her against him. James really liked Caitlin and even more so since Molly really liked her too, he couldn't ask for a more perfect woman.
Caitlin moaned again putting her other hand on his shoulder and pulling him close. IT had been a lot time since she had last had sex with a live human. Someone with a heartbeat. It felt good... blood... rushing... pumping... throbbing. Another moan and she joined the play with her own tongue. his scent, the pumping blood, the pressure against her groin. If it kept him awake she would fuck him for three more hours if need be.
He stroked her thigh and his other moved up touching her stomach and inching along her ribs. The smell from the coffee barely registered as they continued to enjoy the kiss. Breaking the kiss he moved to her neck and kissed against her jugular feeling her heartbeat against his lips. Jokingly, a couple of the guy's made sure to slip some condoms in the shin pocket of his BDU's. Now he was glad they were there, but he was still wanted to hold off on the sex, if he could.
It was only moments within this that the timer on the coffee machine went off a loud beeping letting them know the pot was full of hot rish coffee was finished. "Coffee JAmes." she panted, grinding her hips against his arousel. She couldn't help it. IT was all so instinctual with JAmes. Always had been and it seemed it always would be. They had a few hours to go before it was safe for him to sleep and she was feeling a hesitancy from him. As if he wasn't sure he wanted this... her. That was fine there was always coffee.
"Caitlin, was the fact we had sex twice even before we really knew each other, did that cause any hang ups. Cause I really want you, badly, I just don't want it to only be physical between us." He pressed his lips over her heart and prayed that she wasn't going to reject him or what he said. His hands moved to her hips and tried to pull her closer against him. Then they began creping up under her tank top towards her breasts.
"It's a fact I have yet to understand but I have nothing against it James. My bed would be a better place for this rather then the counter next to hot coffee though. Or the couch... or the coffee table... or the table... or the floor..." Cait trailed off her eyes closing as he rubbed against her in the right way for a moment in the tight jeans she was wearing. "There's something about you that makes it impossible not to want you." She whispers sofly leaning forward to bite gently at his neck and shoulder.
His hands retreated from under her shirt and instead gathered her tight ass into them. Then he lifted her up and began carrying her towards her bedroom, stopping to press her against the wall. James kissed her deeply and groaned as they teased each other with their tongues. He got them through the door and over to the bed and dipped her low. They wound up in the darkness of her room, he managed to pul her top off when they broke the kiss again.
Caitlin nearly growled at how possessive his hands felt over ehr skin his lips tasting her neck her chest her stomach her navel. It was all perfectly dominant. She found his nipple in the dark rather easily and gently tweaked it. Running the nails of her other hand teasingly inside the waistband of his pants. She was hot and her eyes amber already. His features were strong and the way he always touched her like... she was already his...
He unbuttoned her pants and began to kiss as he slid them down, until he began kissing and licking her thighs. They were both breathing heavily and he found that spot she loved and he licked hard against her clit. The day in the park, the night on the bluff, he used them as a road map to pleasing Caitlin. James unbuttoned his pants and started them down, he wanted her to climax before he knew she would take over. It was true what he said, he wanted her desperatly.
"AH!! Ah JAmes! No! Ah! That spot! UUNH!" Caitlin trembled and jerked under his skillful hands and tongue. It was like he already knew her body just from the few couplings they had already had. It didn't take long before she climaxed arching her back and panting out an ohgodjames, she was being teased and she knew it but it was his descision and she wouldn't hinder him. It was good either way for her.
He waited until she came down and began kissing back up her body over her breasts and back to her mouth. His hands stroked her sides and traced patterns over her skin. "Mmmmm, I take it I found something you liked." he said with a smile. He nuzzled her and whispered in her ear. She was soft and the way she cried out would make any guy proud of how he treated her.
"Tease! Uhhnnn yes... I liked it." She answered a slight blush covering her face. Even being sweet there was power there under his hands. Power that could hold her down and ravish her and it made her tremble and her nipples tighten hard. She wondered if she misbehaved if he would spank her and do other naughty things or if she would gently discipline her until she could go on no longer.
"Good, I'm glad you enjoyed it." he said kissing behind her ear. He began to nod again kissing her neck again. He knew he needed to stay awake, keep pleasing Caitlin. Feel them enjoy one another again, it was wonderful. His hands slowed and his eye lids drooped.
"James!" Caitlin dug her nails into his arm sharply. "Stay awake. I want your cock inside of me and that can't happen if you fall asleep." Caitlin says gently dragging her nails down his back, cupping and gripping hard at his ass. "Please I need your cock... I want to feel you inside me... James... Take me... Please take me!" Caitlin said hands cupping Jame's face suddenly as well.
She jolted him awake and he grabbed his pants pulling out a condom and slipping it on before rolling over and placing his tip inside her and pushing forward. He groaned as she enveloped him in that perfect body, warm, wet and tight. James began to thrust into Caitlin savoring the feeling of her body around him. Leaning forward he kissed her deeply and kept thrusting pulling almost all the way out before pushing back inside her. His hands roamed all over her body as they continued to ride the waves of pleasure towards orgasms.
Caitlin moaned and cried out, each deep thrust made her clutch him tightly and dig her nails in. Panting and moaning in rythem with his thrusts. Sudden spikes making her yell out his name or yes or oh god or spirits. She came more then once but he continued on. Like he had before and her pleasure only increased the longer he took, "H-harder James uhn please!" She begged hoping he would come to an end soon. She felt an hour early was acceptable to let him sleep. she didn't smell death on him as strong anymore.
He shared the noises moaning and telling how good she felt and how much she turned him on while doing as she asked him. After the latest climax he finally could not hold back any longer and climaxed. James kissed her deeply and rolled to his side facing her and puling the covers over them. "I'm a little afraid to go to sleep, I might wake up and this would have been a dream." Kissing her deep again as his hands gently rubbed her back as that warm after sex feeling would drift them off to sleep.
