This is the first chapter in Caitlin Moira Dehnson and her journey to California and the people she meets.
Caitlin awoke with the sun's first light; it filled her bedroom in the pueblo style house. Knowing immediately that Joe was already up, as the smells of coffee and breakfast wafted to her. The old man had gone to bed angry at her announcement to leave for California. The bed was soft and warm, the hand-woven blanket against her skin Colorado nights were cold some times. It would be two weeks until the next lunar cycle, plenty of time to get California and figure out her next move.
"MMMmm..." Cait stretched and after only a moment of staring at the golden sky she quickly got dressed in some well fitting but slightly ragged jeans and putting on a soft red tank top. She made the bed, and brushed her hair before braiding it. Pulling on socks and then dumping her boots upside down just in case when nothing came out she slipped the old comfortable cowgirl boots on and headed out. After brushing her teeth and washing her face she walked into the kitchen. "Joe?" she called softly stepping through the door.
The old Native American, his grey hair pulled back from his face sat at the kitchen table with the coffee pot. He had offered her a place to stay when she broke away from the pack. Making sure she could safely roam when the moon was full on his land. "I'm here little wolf, how did you sleep?" he said, she could tell he himself had not slept. All around the kitchen you could see the old appliances intermingled with his people's culture. Joe was one of the eldest members of the Chemehuevi tribe.
"Good... I... I dreamt of the moon by the sea again. Are... Is everything okay Joe?" Cait asks getting a coffee cup and sitting down. She may not have known Joe for very long but she knew something was up. It was clear he hadn't slept, she was grateful for him for taking her in like he had but she always felt bad that there was nothing she could really do in return for him. Leaving the pack had been hard as it was, she was glad he was there to support her and give her a safe place to 'wolf'.
"The dream is a vision, but I believe now is not the time to follow it. You are just now learning what it is to be without the pack. And you know Marcus may not just let go that easily." He had told her once that his people had dealt with those who suffered from lycanthropy. And he began to mentor her preaching control and learning how to live with this.
"Marcus chose the bitch. I will not be denied a life simply because he wants one girl. We aren't real wolves; I should be allowed to find my own happiness! Joe... if the dream is a vision and I'm having it almost every night isn't that telling me something? I've learned that you can call it when it is not the full moon... I've learned to live with my other self. I'm not... I was only... bitten a few years ago I know that but Joe... what can I do?" Caitlin asks softly pouring herself a cup and making sure it wasn't hot she sips it. She loved Joe's coffee, he ground the beans every morning and brewed it fresh, and it was amazing. But she was tense and getting antsy staying in one place for so long. She was afraid Marcus would come for her.
He became tight lipped again, something she learned meant even though he wanted to, could not argue. "Even he understands the Chemehuevi have hunted and killed loupe garou before. In truth when I first found you, I was almost going to free you from it." He got up and fetched some bacon and eggs he had warming in the oven. "Here eat or else you'll be less likely to plan your trip."
"Joe... you've never told me before... when you found me... why didn't you end it all? Why did you bring me home and keep me safe?" Cait asks softly worriedly, she had always wanted to know the answer and she needed the answer before she left. His people hunted those like her, Marcus had told her that a long time ago, back in the beginning that there were hunters of their kind. Those that knew and believe they existed. She picked up the fork and ate slowly, waiting for the answer. Joe had done a lot for her, practically reteaching her how to live as a Lupe and human. The fact he told her to eat or she wouldn't be able to plan meant he was letting her go, he wasn't going to argue even though he didn't believe she was ready.
"You are young and it is not fair to treat you as if you are evil." he explained. Going over he took down his old henry rifle and the rag he kept it clean with. It was a .30/30 lever action and he had more than enough silver to shoot every member of the pack three times each. He explained to her long ago, silver was her worst enemy other than that it would take a massive amount of damage to end her life. And even though he spared her, the first couple of full moons had been tense.
"Joe... you did believe me when I told you... that I've never hurt a human before right?" Cait asks softly, she always got tense when he got the gun down. After all his careful lessons on safety and protection and what would harm her. Not to mention when she went wolf the first few months, he had pointed it at her more than once. The reason she had left home when she had gotten bitten was she had attacked some dogs and horses, eaten a goat or some other animals and chased down a few hunters before Marcus had found her deep in the woods and really far away from her home. She hadn't killed the humans but they had shot her... she did technically hurt then, but they had lived and she hadn't bitten them at all. She didn't know why they had shown up as dead in the paper some days later. They could have gotten away with what she had done to them, and lived a long life.
"I do, I've not cleaned it in some time. And it is due, much like I'm sure your cage may be." The cage had been in the old barn for months and as he explained that when she was in heat. Being locked up would be far better than the damage she could do. As with many animals the desire to mate was very strong, in a creature like her, overpowering.
"...I was hoping to leave right after... but... I should have plenty of time." Cait says finishing her plate of food quickly. She took it to the sink and cleaned it before putting it on the drying rack. She didn't remember a time when she wasn't locked up. Even Marcus used that method, of a cage for all the females in his pack who he had not chosen. There were four, and so in an old barn there had been cages to hold them. The one thing Cait had wanted to leave more than anything else was that Marcus would torture them by walking in and taunting them, satisfied with the bitch in his arms and doing things in front of the four of them. She had to leave, the other girls had all stayed to try and gain favor over the others to be with him each month, but Cait had never wanted him. "I'll go and oil it then." Caitlin says softly turning to go get the oil and rags.
"I meant any droppings, the silver will still burn you rag or not." he called. He poured another cup and unloaded the henry, if the weapon was not in good order than it wouldn't work when he needed it. His 1911 colt was in the holster on the back of the door. One of the only things he chose to keep from his time in the army. It too had silver bullets and some normal ones for other problems.
"Yeah yeah gloves and rags for cleaning I know!" Cait grinned; even though lately things were a little tense it was still good to know Joe was worried about her. She healed quickly enough though that wearing the thick gloves and using the rag usually meant she didn't have any burns or anything worse then what sunburn normally was for people. Going to the barn she got the oil and shovel and pulled a bandana around her face. It was embarrassing to clean your own poop out of a cage and wash it out then oil it for the next time. But she did. Once she was done she put everything away and looked at her hands. A little redder then usual but she had been making sure the cage was in top condition, it would be the last time she used it before she left.
He saw her coming from the barn, "And you’re sure you can help Robin?" Joe wanted to finish the phone call before she could hear. On the table was a going away gift from him.
"Of course, she is welcome here and with so much time before the next cycle. We'll get her set and I'm sure she'll call you soon." Robin assured him before hanging up.
"Ow...maybe I shouldn't have paid so much attention to the corners." Cait mumbled softly looking at her hands as she wiggled her fingers and clenched her hands. She reached the side door and opened it only wincing a little at the tenderness of her hands. She knew she was such a pansy but really it was okay by her if she was. "Hey Joe it's all clean and oiled up so what..." She stopped talking as she walked back into the kitchen area, the side door led almost directly to the kitchen after all.
Sitting on the table was a couple boxes; Joe was in the back room gathering something. He came back out and noticed her look, "Well one cannot send the young out into the world without preparation." Moving to the sink he washed his breakfast plate and set it with hers. It would be far too easy to set her out into the world unprepared, he had already enough sorrow from doing that. He turned his grey eyes to hers, "I have faith in you little wolf, and may you find what the spirits are guiding you to in California."
"Joe... I can't believe you did this!" Cait said her eyes tearing up; she smiled though and walked over giving him a hug. She would miss him a lot. He had guided her and trained her for so long and through so much, it was like leaving her family again. Only this time she actually got to say goodbye. She had sent them letters occasionally, but she hadn't had anyone until Joe and now... she was leaving Joe too. "Thank you so much Joe... Someday I'll repay you... I promise." Cait says softly, she hadn't finished packing everything else up yet, but she had he heat coming up soon and she needed to find a place to stay in California on top of that.
"Here, this is a friend of mine her name is Robin Weeks. She knows about lycans, and has promised to help you. She lives in San Marino near the national forest." he said as he pressed the address into her hand. Unable to hold it back a tear fell from his eye. "You be careful little wolf, there are things much worse than werewolves in Los Angeles."
"Oh Joe... I'll keep in touch okay? Besides I might need more guiding from you in the future. The spirits don't talk to me." Cait promised before hugging Joe again. Pulling back she wiped her cheeks. "I love you Joe, as much as my own father... I promise I will always check up on you." She says before smiling sadly again, she needed to pack and she needed to leave. The old beat up brown truck had a long way to go. She needed to find a place to stay and make sure her things were safe before the full moon came and she needed to see Robin. It would be her first stop. Nodding her head she took the boxes and set them outside before heading into her room to finish packing, she only had the clothes and toiletries and such things left. Soon enough she had everything in the back of the truck with a tarp overtop and underneath with ropes holding everything down tight.
"Do not open this until you are getting settled in your new place. And the same goes with this, and be careful with it alright?" He gave her some last minute instructions. "Remember the most important thing; there will be a lot of new smells the thing to remember is control at all times." He did hope this would not be the last time he saw her, but there was nothing else to do but have faith.
"Control... I got it. Besides I always carry the herbal pouch you made me to calm me down. I won't open them I promise Joe. You be careful okay?" She asked before hugging him again one last time. She was worried Marcus would come after him disregarding the status and tribal peace. She prayed his spirits would keep him safe for her. She got into the truck and with a final wave to Joe turned the key and started her up. Old but dependable it had taken a lot of time to get her up and running Joe had told her. She intended on taking good care of the truck, and of herself.
As she drove away in the truck he offered up a prayer to the spirits. "Watch her path and stand ready to protect her, and keep her away from those who like the pack would bring her harm." Joe knew nothing was ever simple and it may lead to a time when she might wish he had shot her. But, he was old now without desire to hunt those evil creatures, the things of nightmares that stole away his son. Those nightmare monsters which the spirits could not keep from claiming his wife and daughter both.

It was several days later, almost a week actually that Cait finally reached the park and looking at the address on the paper Joe had given her nodded. This was the right place. She would stay here to find her apartment or whatever was available, she needed a job too and she knew how to waitress and was old enough to bar tend. She had always wanted to own a little Cafe/bar. If she could find the space she could start saving up and cleaning up and maybe open one. Driving to the address on the paper she stopped and turned off the truck looking around at the place that this Robin lived.
It was an older two story house in San Marino and it looked less like a house where someone lived that knew about lycans. It looked like Martha Stewart lived there, but she could smell Joe's chili and cornbread from the open window. That familiar smell made her stomach rumble and her heart a little lonely. Looking at the address again to make sure, this was the place. It was now or never to meet Joe's friend and see if she would help her.
Swallowing Cait walked up the porch and knocked on the door. She disliked doorbells because of the loud buzz they gave off when the sound played it hurt her ears. The food was making her hungry though and she hoped Robin wouldn't mind if she called Joe to let him know she got to Robin's safely. If that was a word you could use. She was hoping she could find a place to stay and work in the upcoming week. Then start after the full moon. This month her heat cycle was dead on and she only hoped Robin had a cage that could hold her.
A woman about fifty with silver hair and brown eyes opened the door. She wasn't much taller than Cait and she still seemed very fit for her age. "Can I help you young lady?" she asked having already taken in Cait's every detail. This woman couldn't be a hunter, could she? They were mainly men who had scars and drinking problems. She looked like a grandmother who knitted and baked cookies.
Cait could see the strength in this woman. Smell the herbs on her hands. The tone of voice she used was similar to Joe's too. "I've made it at last Robin! Sorry it took me so long. I ran out of oil and fuel, it took me a little to get the truck back into running shape. I'm Caitlin." Cait smiles, they equally had the sharp eyes, she had noticed right away the woman check her out quickly. But she felt no intent to harm her from this Robin woman.
"Well come on in, I expected you a little sooner than this but, at least you made it." She ushered Cait inside, the house was cooler inside and everything smelled so clean. A small den was lined with books of all kinds, but she could not hear any TV or much else. "Come along I have some food on and just pulled the cornbread out a few minutes ago. I also have some southern style iced tea, Joe said you liked that correct?"
"Did... you make all this for me?" Cait asked walking in and looking around. The food was covering almost all the other scents but that was probably because she was hungry. She didn't hear much in the way of twentieth century living really. "As I said... my car ran out of gas and oil. I had to walk some ways to get some and then walk back to put it in the old truck. I didn't want to be caught pushing it alone." she says softly following the older woman to the kitchen, everything was nice and clean and the smell of Joe's food was driving her nuts.
"Well, I was in the mood for chili and cornbread. It so happened to coincide with your arrival, so sit down and let’s get to it." She got some soup bowls, flatware, and tall glasses for the tea. Everything tasted as good as it all smelled and it calmed the grumbling. Robin wasn't asking very many questions in fact she wasn't talking very much at all.
"Thank you for everything Robin. The food and all. I was wondering if... I could call Joe and let him know I got here okay?" Cait asked softly, tomorrow she would be going out and searching for the apartment and jobs. She only had about a week or so left to get everything in order before the full moon came. Other than that this woman was giving her the creeps and she wanted to ask Joe about it.
"Oh, that won't be a problem." she stood and set her bowl in the sink and motioned Cait to follow her. Leading the way into a study, were there were row upon row of books. Lining the ways were pictures of Robin and other people. Even a picture of a younger Joe and Robin in front of his cabin with his henry and she had a long rifle. "You can use that phone, and don't worry about how long you talk, it does not matter."
Cait followed her, she'd never been very interested in books and this place was so quiet. It wasn't at all what she was used to, but she picked up the phone and dialed Joe's number quickly. It had taken her almost two extra days to get here at Robins at all. She wanted to let him know nothing bad had happened and that everything was alright. She wanted to ask a few questions about this Robin woman too but that would be rude and she certainly didn't want to piss her off if she knew of werewolves like Joe said she did.
Robin turned and left the study, shutting the pocket doors behind her. The phone rang half a dozen times at Joes before he answered it. Caitlin felt that now that she had some privacy she could ask Joe her questions. Beside her she saw a book, Modern Theories of Lycanthropy and Other Mythic Creatures: by Robin Weeks. When Joe picked up the phone, she heard him set something down, "Hello?"
"Hey Joe... It's Cait." Caitlin said looking at the book a little better, pulling it off of the shelf and opening it up to read the cover. This was definitely one odd place. Definitely one odd lady living here too. "I'm sorry it took me so long to call, I didn't want to call until I had reached Robin's. I... ran out of gas once and found a small leak in the oil pump... I got it taken care of though." Cait informed.
"Good, I knew that old truck might break down more than drive. Have you opened your gifts yet? Robin is very different, she is a hunter/scholar, and no doubt you'll find several of her books deal with lycans and other creatures. But, you'll find her a steadfast friend and person to confide in." She could hear the fondness in his voice, for her and Robin.
"I got it running again no problem. You told me not to open them until I got my own place so... I just got here and she made a meal. I thought it would be best to call you and let you know I was here for now. She's odd... I feel kind of... on edge around her." Cait says softly closing the book and focusing on the sound of Joe's voice. Even just listening to the sound of his voice soothed her and her innermost being. She missed him a lot actually, and she was a little afraid of moving into the city of Los Angeles.
"I would have no doubt that you could fix it." he praised her skills. "Open the second package before you decide where to get a place to live. The first and third can wait until you get there. Robin was a writer who had a brush with the occult and me; she is a wealth of knowledge about lycans and other creatures. I know that you will find out what your vision means, I just hope the journey is a good one."
"Thanks Joe... I'll keep in touch I promise. You stay safe alright? If I find a place I'll give all the information to Robin so just call her. I need to go..." Cait paused and almost thought to tell him she missed him, those days she traveled were lonely and she had felt almost abandoned but in the end she decided not to, shaking her head a little. "I'll call again soon, Bye Joe." She said softly into the phone. She wasn't used to being alone, but to follow her dream (literally) she would continue on to do this.
He echoed her warning of being safe and goodbye and then they hung up. The silence of Robin's house seemed to be engulf her. Minutes later her host returned, "How is he doing since you left? Before we decide to head to our rooms for the night, we should discuss the upcoming lunar cycle." Sitting in the leather chair facing Cait's and waiting to begin the discussion.
"It'll be one of my worst, I'm ovulating this full moon. Joe's... not one to talk much about how he is doing with me. He's more concerned if I hurt anyone or if I've wolfed out. During heat it's always pretty bad, but I'll be in a completely new environment, which really won't help very much either." Cait says not taking a seat; she had been driving for days right now she proffered to stand when she could just to stretch her legs. That too she might go for a run around the place to familiarize herself with it. Probably go out the window would be easiest rather than let her host worry about her leaving the house unlocked.
Robin watched her for a second then smiled, "I am aware that the crossing of the lunar cycle and ovulation causes a unique problem. I have a secure place if you prefer being under lock and key during this time. And of course this house is near the forest, so consider it a safe haven. Also, until you get your feet under you feel free to use the extra room upstairs. I also have a book here outlining some of the local sightseeing around the city of angels, and will answer any questions you have."
Cait smiled softly, it was a sad almost tired kind of smile. "Thank you... I don't wish to cause you any undo trouble. It's best if... during my heat I'm locked away. There's only a week or so left, I'll appreciate any help you can give me during that time. I will look for a place to stay and some jobs right away. I won't be a hindrance I can at least offer that much." Cait says softly nodding her head to Robin. Cait hadn't really known what she would do once arriving here. She was glad miss Robin had things figured out a little more than she did. First step though was a job either way you looked at it.
Robin pointed to the newspaper on her desk, "For what the want ads can offer over there dear. We can go see the safe room whenever you like, the same with the extra bedroom. There is no rush on finding a place, somewhere to be happy and safe. If you get a nasty neighbor or landlord, when you change the wolf will be aggressive. Somewhere either away from annoying people or with a decent landlord will make living with your condition easier."
"Thank you... I hadn't thought of that actually. I suppose it can wait a day at least until I bring in my things and see them into the spare room. Joe sent me some things as well and told me to open one. I suppose I should do that quickly. I hope you don't mind but I'll be coming into the house and back outside again a few times today. If you could show me the spare room?" Caitlin asked softly, it was rather odd to be depending on someone she had never met before for lodging and for all of her arcane needs as well.
Robin stood and walked her into a hallway leading to the back of the house. The room had its own bathroom and shower and faced the garden out back. The bed was a queen and looked very clean & simple. When the breeze blew toward the house Cait could smell lavender and gardenia. "I hope this will be ok? The french doors head out onto the patio."
"This... will be perfect. Thank you very much. I'll just go back and get my things and bring them in." Caitlin said softly, looking around. It reminded her a little of her own family's house. She let out a soft sigh before turning to go back to the truck. She needed a place to make her own home. She stopped a moment and then grinned before letting out a giggle. She had almost used the term den instead of home.
It took her a little bit to move everything into the room. As she set down the boxes, Robin smiled she was dusting and making sure the room was clean. "Shall I help put some of your clothes into drawers, Caitlin?" she asked politely. Joe's gifts were sitting on her bed, wrapped in brown paper and somewhat calling to her. Only one box remained and she would be all moved in.
"Yes please... I mean if you don't mind." Caitlin said softly she sat on the floor and pulled Joe's box down with her. It sat in her lap for a few minutes as she just stared at it and resisted the temptation of opening it. The wolf in her however was also curious and so she quickly and carefully untied the string around it and opened the paper without ripping any of it. She always had been meticulous not to cause an accident ever since she had been bitten and Marcus had found her. She still didn't remember the night all these years later.
As she lifted the lid of the box he instructed her to first open, she wondered what Joe had sent for her. Inside the box were several bundles of money and a note. Caitlin, this money is to make following your vision a little easier. Even though I didn't show it I wish nothing but the best for you. Enclosed is $15,000. I hope you put it to good use, Joe.
Caitlin blinked hard a few times before smiling sadly. How Joe even had that much money was beyond her. She who had no time to hold a job before she was bitten and unable to stay in one place long enough to obtain a job with Marcus's pack. She would save the money as long as possible and work on getting a job first. The only skill she knew was making drinks and serving them. As the newest female in the pack anytime they stopped somewhere or took over another pack's bar she had been the one to mix and serve the drinks as taught. She would look for a job like that, and probably a waitressing job, those were easy right? Taking the money she put it in her hand and clenched it tightly. She would save the note. Joe was like her father, or a second one anyways, the one who taught her how to live her second life.
Robin had emptied two of the boxes and after cutting the tape, folded them down flat and put them under the bed. She had known Joe would send money to help her start her life; he cared a great deal about her. Giving the young lycan sometime to think, she began on another box. "When you want let me know and I will show you the safe place." She then left the room to let Caitlin adjust to her new surroundings.
Caitlin nodded and slowly got to her feet. The money in her hand she thought of the best place to hide it. Finally she took the money and put it behind the dresser, pulling it away from the wall and then putting the money in the middle behind the mirror she pushed it against the wall. It would hold it up and not show that it was moved or there at all. Once she was finished with that, she went back to find Robin, she needed to check the safe room. Needed to know it would be able to take the anger at being kept and unable to try to find a mate.
Robin was looking through her mail when Caitlin came looking for her. "Well, let us be on our way then. Shall we take your truck or my car?" Robin went to the place where she had the keys to the safe place, and brought them back to her. "I will warn you it is in an unconventional place, but no one would think to look there." She then headed to the door with Caitlin in tow.
"It would be best if we took your car... mine needs a little work done still and I think I know enough I might be able to fix it. But I'm sure your's is more reliable right now." Caitlin said softly, she always tried to appear harmless and gentle. She was... usually, until of course she was angry or... the full moon. Then she was almost someone else still. While being with Joe gave her great insight to being a person with a split spirit, being a whole being was still something she didn't know how to be yet.
She smiled and led the way to her sedan parked in the garage. "Not a problem, and if you need to borrow it just ask." They got inside and drove for a little while, finally arriving at a little cemetery overlooking the city. "I know what you might be thinking, but just wait until you see inside." Robin then led the way to a mausoleum, bearing the name Weeks and took out a key.
Caitlin looked around, the smell of earth and death clung heavily to this place, so did sadness. She always knew when it was getting close because all her senses became heightened to the point she could literally smell the hormones of sadness in places. Some of them were stronger than others. Once the outer gates were open she could smell the dust and the oil coming from inside. It wouldn't be pleasant but as long as it was strong enough it was all that really mattered.
Once past most of the family tombs she opened another gate and went down a set of stairs. Once at the bottom she led her down a hallway to what looked like a hatchway door. Once she opened it and turned on the lights it was an old bomb shelter. "I took some time to make this somewhere lycans who don't wish to roam could stay & not hurt themselves or others. You are however the first female in heat here, but not to fear, the door to the safe room is very strong, you'll be safe in there."
"It is not my safety that concerns me Robin. Nothing will harm me unless they have silver once I change. I don't know if Joe has told you about me... but he says I have a strong spirit, an intent and honest one. Marcus was afraid I would sway the control of the pack... I am an Alpha. It is others I fear for while in my heat." Cait says softly, she hated speaking of herself as if she were a beast but the truth was that that's exactly what she was, nothing could change that. She looked around and saw it was sufficient for her strength and will to get out. She relaxed a little knowing she would be contained well enough to protect others.
"We will come here hours before the moon rise and set everything up. And if you might have noticed if you would escape the national forest would draw you before the city would. However, I trust that everything will be fine and I will return in the morning with clothes for you." To Caitlin it sounded like this wasn't the first lycan to spend time down here. The bigger question was what she would do until the first night of her transformation.
"Thank you. But I will take my clothes with me. I will handle everything. If you lock the doors I'll be fine otherwise." Caitlin says crisply, something about this woman was sort of putting her on edge and bothering her. If she had fur it'd be standing up about right now around Robin. "How far is the city from here?" Cait asks trying to distract herself from the unnerved feeling she had around this woman, who had done nothing but been helpful and kind to her. So far.
Robin sat on a metal chair and looked at her, "Several miles, you may not make it before sunrise. I know that my familiarity with your condition might unnerve you some. I was a young student studying anthropology at USC and after a brush with a werewolf and Joseph. After that I began to study the true occult and hunter's tactics, hence the picture with him and I. Those who know the true occult treat me as a scholar; the rest of society treats my books as fanciful fiction."
"That is not the reason I am uncomfortable. You just aren't... right. I am however somewhat interested in reading these books you've had published, if that's alright with you. And At least it isn't about sparkly pale teenagers." Caitlin smiles at Robin, trying to make the woman feel a little less like she was being threatened or watched as closely as she was. It probably wouldn't work but Cait wanted to like Robin and have her as a friend, if it was possible.
Robin laughed which made Caitlin feel a little better, "What about everything you've seen makes you feel anything is right? And you are welcome to ask questions and read any of my books. Joe and I have been friends for a long time, and because of that I am more than willing to help you. I hope that in time you will look on me with such fondness Caitlin." She smiled before as an afterthought said," What do you feel like for dinner tonight?"
"Meat, definitely meat. There is still a sense of good in you and Joe, compared to what I felt from Marcus anyways. Joe said you'd help me like he would help me. I think for now just reading your books will be fine though. I've seen all I need to can we leave? The scent of sadness and death always raises my hackles." Cait says softly not really aware how odd that sentence might sound coming from someone who looked like an eighteen year old girl might actually sound.
"I know a very nice place, with great steaks and steak fries. Shall we go then and discuss everything else you want to know?" She stood up and locked the doors on the way back out of the crypt. It was odd that Caitlin could still smell everything so far underground with cleaning that Robin had done. Werewolves were strange and always fascinating race of creatures.
"Yes." Caitlin says softly, it wasn't the shelter area or even the old crypts where she really smelled it but it traveled down to her. As if someone continued to mourn near the entrance. Either way she'd get her fill of it next week during the full moon, right now it still creeped her out that she could smell it all and well hear better too. Just once she wanted to be somewhat normal.

The restaurant Robin picked was actually on the beach. The warm pacific air carried a salty smell to them. The restaurant had a slight tikki bar atmosphere and they were shown to a table on the imitation boardwalk. "Order anything you want, my treat Caitlin." Robin instructed. As the waiter approached he had a bottle of beer on his tray, "For you miss, from the gentleman at the bar."
Cait relaxed a little, the sea helped clear out a lot of other scents. Turning to look to see which gentleman at the bar he was referring to she took the beer. It wasn't yet dark out and while she did enjoy alcohol too much of it would be dangerous so close to the time of change. Having spent a little time taking in her surrounding she found she quite liked this place. Of course she was wearing some sleek jeans and a tube top today; she had a fashion belt on and her cowboy boots still. She was rather hungry and knew what she'd prefer, but she still needed a menu not being familiar with the food choices, she hadn't been out in well... a really long time.
The waiter looked at Robin, "Something for you ma'am, and here are two menus." The man at the bar was several inches less than six feet, blonde and clean shaven. Dressed in cargo shorts and a sleeveless tee-shirt, however she noted his scent had a feminine undertone. Robin ordered an iced tea and potato skins to start. Everything on the menu looked good and the steaks came with salad or potato and the burgers sounded just as good.
"Beef dumplings, Cajun burger, loaded mashed potatoes, a side of vegetables and an extra side of fruit and the chocolate fudge brownie with vanilla ice cream." Cait said softly once she looked over the menu, "Water to drink." she added after a short pause. She took a sip of the beer and took a deep breath wondering if the feminine undertone was exactly him or something else. She raised it in a salute of thanks to him though for buying it for her.
Robin looked at her and smiled, "Strip steak medium, steak fries, corn on the cob and cherry cheesecake." And after he left with the order she looked at the bar. "Are you going to go speak with him, Caitlin or are you going to wait until he comes over here?" she asked curious. Further up the beach they could hear the surf and Caitlin could hear police sirens. The man at the bar kept watching her and smiled showing her his teeth.
"Can't blame a girl for ordering first can you?" Caitlin asked softly setting the beer down and getting to her feet. Caitlin was not a coward and if bought a drink she either deemed the buyer not worthy or at least well enough to thank. It was never more than that. Never had been at least. Probably never would be again though, walking over she left the beer at the table a clear sign she wasn't intent to join him at the bar. Sliding onto the stool next to his though so they could speak informally.
"Hi, I'm Richard. And may I say you are breathtaking." he smiled and offered his hand. She noticed the paler circle of skin where a wedding ring probably sat. Now closer she could smell the body lotion of a woman, riding along on his skin. "How long have you been in L.A.?" he was trying to make small talk. Fighting for her attention was the smells of the food in the kitchen.
"Hello Richard... thank you. I haven't actually. Thank you for the beer but I am currently visiting a friend and would prefer to be left alone. So if you don't mind... I do appreciate it and maybe if we run into each other again in town sometime I'll accept the drinks and talks." Cait says shaking his hand tightly. She smiled somewhat pleasantly, but on the whole acted uninterested, what a moron really. Smelling like his wife or some other woman, and having the tan line even on his finger. The food smells were distracting her and were almost making her salivate.
He frowned and mumbled an apology before letting her hand go. She then noticed after a few minutes that the appetizers arrived at the table. The police sirens got closer and she noticed the situation coming up the beach toward them. A man was running after another one carrying a bundle in his hands. It was rather impressive the man in the following position was catching up quickly.
The instant urge to chase made Cait grab onto the bar tightly. Taking a deep breath and only catching whiff of the man next to her she moved and was standing at the door within seconds. she needed to let them handle this... but the chasing and the ocean and the food was making it all rather difficult to not follow through what instincts were screaming at her to do. She held the doorway with one hand as if trying to hold herself to the spot and not let go and give in to chase them down.
The man with the bundle turned raising a pistol toward the other man. Who promptly bowled him over and both the gun and bundle flew into the air. Already many of the patrons at the restaurant were standing and watching the men struggle on the ground. She heard some comments of cops and drug dealer float through the crowd. Seconds later the men came back up, the man with the bundle was now hand cuffed and the cop showing a bloody lip sat him on the ground while gathering his gun and the bundle.
Caitlin gripped the wood tighter and with great reluctance she turns away and heads back to the table. If she stayed to long and watched any longer she might not be able to turn back. The breeze from the ocean was pushing the scent of blood straight through the door and into her face. She needed to get a hold of herself and get a grip. There was food on her table and once she ate some of that inside of her stomach then she should be okay and the urge to chase and hunt should die down a little. Not that she really wanted to hunt just chasing.
As she sat down and began eating she could hear the group commenting about what happened. And the cop’s voice coming over some of the others, he was reading the man his rights. A police car was coming down the access road to pick up both men. "Well, that was a little exciting don't you agree?" Robin asked. She was waiting for Caitlin before starting to eat, "Anything happen with the young man at the bar?"
"Married, had wife..." Caitlin said softly before picking up the dumplings and popping them into her mouth and chewing them before swallowing quickly. She needed to distract herself from all this. The noise, the people and the smell of blood still in her nostrils, she needed to tamp down the wolf in her that wanted the blood, or even to release the man so he would run again. She was working hard on staying calm and neutral.
The police car pulled up and they put the handcuffed man in the back. The bartender sent a waitress to give the man a towel, which he took and thanked her for. They got into the car and went back the way they had come from. Robin noticed her discomfort and looked a little concerned. "Is everything ok, you seem a little distracted." she asked.
"I'm fine... just need to eat and get it off my mind." Cait says finishing her dumplings quickly and drinking the beer. Then sipping her water she tried to relax and wait for the rest of her food to arrive to get the need out of her. They were gone now, but she still wanted to run. Maybe... Maybe she would have some time after they ate to run a little ad let off the steam on the beach on the doors.
"Do you have a pair of running shoes or do you plan on going barefoot?" Robin asked with a grin. She offered Caitlin a potato skin and took a sip of her tea. "Too bad about the guy at the bar, he seemed rather nice. Not meaning to be too forward, but what is your type?" Maybe if they shared some things about one another it would lessen Caitlin’s creepy feelings. She made a funny face thinking about men and relationships.
"Barefoot I mean I..." Cait stopped a moment looking up at Robin. "How did you know? I wanted to run I mean?" Caitlin asked stopping after having eaten half of the potato skin she had been given. How Robin had figured out what was wrong she didn't know but it would be a good idea to run every day to get out some of the extra energy she was feeling. But how Robin had figured it out she didn't know. But her type of man? She didn't want one actually.
"I have been at this for a long time, I know the look." she smiled as the entrees came. She was going to continue that she figured the running people jump started the primal animal side. And no doubt the police man with the bloody lip had affected her as well. Caitlin apparently must have thought that she only spoke to hunters after they made a kill to get information. "Would you ladies like anything else, more water or tea perhaps?" the waiter asked.
"More water please... thank you..." Caitlin said softly looking at her plate for a little while until the waiter was gone again. "Joe told me you knew a lot and that you both hunted together... I didn't think you'd... know." Cait said softly, and she wanted to know how she did but more than that she wanted to run, but there was food right in front of her and the need to eat was more overwhelming considering she really hadn't eaten much lately.
"I have a great length talked to other lycans, if they could control themselves hunters generally leave them alone. I know that close to the cycle your senses are more acute, you may struggle against the primal side. And to make matters somewhat worse, your sex drive may go into high gear considering your cycle and the lunar one." Robin took another sip and a bite of her steak and chewed thoroughly before continuing. "It may at some point be advantageous to practice, with moderation casual sex as an outlet for pent up energy."
"For a long time... Marcus didn't let us. He would chose one and use her until he got bored. When I ran away I was with Joe on the farm. It's not that I haven't. I just... don't like using men... I don't... I don't want to do it once and then not... It's... I can't just and... If there's a man then I need... it's very serious." Caitlin stuttered over everything, it was very serious business finding a man to be with, she couldn't just be with one and then leave him and not know anything about him... other then you know that. Finding a mate was very serious and it needed a lot of thoughts and of course if she could find a steady boyfriend then.
"I know some males will use a "harem" to control the pack, rewarding loyalty with companionship. And I do agree, it should not be simple or easy, you should know that trust exists due to your condition. I would like to find out if a relationship is possible between a lycan and human, it may give hope to other females." They continued talking until dinner was over and Robin paid the bill. "Now, would you like me to pull over there while you get some sand between your toes?" She hoped her smile put Caitlin at ease; Robin would be like Joe and protect & guide her.
Caitlin nodded. "I need to run... it helps clear it out of my head." She didn't look happy; she was keeping her face very neutral, learning some of the things Robin had spoken of. Seeing how it had applied to her life and how used she had been, it only made it worse... what Marcus had done. How he had controlled her... Marking her as his bitch. He had done all of that. She needed to run get out her aggression, it would help lesson it for the full moon and during her heat. It would only get better from now on.
She eased the car over into a parking lot, "Go on run to your heart’s content. I'll be here when you are done." Having given Caitlin so much to think about she probably needed to think. This pack leader Marcus sounded like a nightmare, just the sort of lycan hunters went after. Robin sighed, there were so few hunters left and most were older. Perhaps if they could help Caitlin live a normal life, then others would take heart.
Cait stepped out of the car and stretched quickly, she always limbered up. Once she was done stretching she squatted down a little and placed herself before she took off. Putting all the anger, frustration, loneliness, and pent up energy into the act of running on the beach. She had taken off her shoes and she rolled up her pant legs, she was wearing a tank so there was nothing to be done there but she just ran. She knew she was running fast, incredibly fast, tapping into the other side of her that was feeding her these urges and power. She wanted to use it up if she could.

Later that week Caitlin awoke to the sounds of music from Robin's study. Apparently she kept almost the same hours as Joe; she could also smell coffee from the kitchen. The first night of the lunar cycle was tonight, and sitting looking through her phone book Robin was a little concerned. Vampires were unreliable and most demons she knew would be no match for Caitlin. She would just have to hope the hatches were strong enough to keep her inside the bunker.
Caitlin got up and stretched she felt... full of energy already, it was the full moon. Now she knew though, she was going to go get some coffee and breakfast, something light and go out for a run. It had been her routine since the day they went out to the beach. She had been working pretty hard on releasing as much of the energy as possible during the daylight hours. She didn't want to rage out of control. After all Robin didn't have a lot of silver covering the bunker and Joe had, not only had the silver cage but also had silver to cover the doors when she was going wolf. But the bunker was reinforced steel with a lot of cement holding it all together... there wasn't much silver there and hopefully running was going to have an effect and not make her try to get out as badly as she normally did.
It was a sunny day on May twenty-sixth, first night of the lunar cycle. Robin had gone over that she would secure the bunker and return in the morning each night bringing some food and new clothes in case she needed them. She also had gone and purchased a cell phone and made sure Caitlin knew all the numbers to call in case she did escape the bunker. After she had left the house, Robin picked up the phone wanting to talk to Joe. Wanting him to reassure her that the bunker would hold and that Caitlin wasn't prone to kill or hunt human prey.
Caitlin came downstairs and after making some scrambled eggs she ate and left. Shorts and tank, sneakers and put her hair in a pony tail. Cell phone in her pocket, she wasn't looking forward to staying the night in the bunker with the stuffy hair and the left over scent of sorrow. She wondered if Robin would make her stay in that stupid bunker or actually let her out for the day like Joe would. She hoped she would be let out; it would be hell if she was stuck in there for a long time.
Running was apparently a popular thing in California; she passed a great deal of people as she made her way out. More than a few men whistled, and still others tried to catch her eye. Rounding a bend she saw a man in running attire with a large wheeled stroller, with a child about 2 years old inside. Up ahead was a park and a water fountain, she had seen it on the way home from the beach her first night in California. It also seemed that a great deal of runners were heading that way as well.
Caitlin ignored them all and with the speed she was running it was more like a sprint, but she slowed a little, there was a lot of people and she didn't want to bump into the stroller, besides everyone should care for the little ones. Babies were the most precious things in the world... and some of the men she passed smelled like drugs... others smelled like women, a few even smelled like other men, which was weird. Though the man with the stroller... smelled like oil and gunpowder, once she was only a few feet behind him to get a whiff anyways. The little girl smelled like... yogurt or ice cream, something dairy and cold anyways.
Unlike most of the men, this one did not seem to look or care about her attire. The little girl was making cooing and laughing noises, dress in a shorts outfit and looked very cozy in the stroller. When they made it to the park he angled away, most likely to get water from the fountain and probably take a break. There were a good number of people waiting in line to cool off. Further at the end of the park was a group of kids skateboarding and laughing.
"Sir... There's another water fountain... back this way. It's smaller and probably less crowded." Cait calls out softly before he went too far. She didn't know why she did it, for some reason she just felt like it would help... besides it was shaded and there was a small stream where the fountain she went to was. It was a little away from the crowd and from the large herd of children; it was a nice secluded kind of place with water and a semblance of solitude.
He stopped, turned back and smiled at her, "Thanks, I appreciate it." Turning to head in the direction she pointed out. Once there he got a quick drink and moved the stroller to the shady area. Unstrapping the little girl and letting her touch the ground. She looked at Caitlin with deep blue eyes and smiled.
Caitlin smiled softly in return and she waved back too. For some reason today she wasn't even out of breath yet. She had been running all morning, from the time she left the house all the way to this park on the edge of town. It had taken her maybe an hour or two to run ten miles or more. She was panting, she was even sweating but she wasn't tired yet. If anything she had more energy. "Be careful... carrying a weapon is a lot of responsibility." Cait said looking up at the man, after saying her piece she turned and began t run off, she needed to run more, she needed to run until she was tired from running so that tonight she was still tired and even that otherworldly energy would be dampened enough that she would be safe... from hurting people... and little girls.
The comment surprised him and he stared as the young lady vanished out of sight. He had showered thoroughly even before he got some sleep, he always did. "Does daddy smell like a policeman?" he asked the little girl. She in turn laughed and crinkled her nose at him. Even as far away as she was Caitlin could hear him plainly.
Caitlin almost laughed but instead giggled a little bit, and kept running, she had at least eight hours so there was plenty of time to run and try to wear herself out. She was nervous having only Robin around, for all she knew the woman knew how to study and kill but not handle or take down non-lethally. It was enough to make anyone nervous really. Almost already she had forgotten what she had done only a few minutes ago really. The smell of gunpowder always scared her a little... after all she was big game and there were hunters out there that went for the big game.
The park was a great place to do many types of physical activities. Besides the running track and skate areas, there were stations for different exercises, a basketball court and numerous shade trees. Plenty of things for Caitlin to use to wear herself out. An hour after arriving she heard a woman yell out in panic, and a man run away from her with a purse in his hand. The woman made a staggered step and fell to the ground, a small crowd was gathering around her.
Caitlin turned and the moment she saw the running man bag in hand she was after him. There was no thought process and there was no good intentions. There was a man running who had done something wrong. She was after him like a shot, her breathing evened out and her muscles snapped to attention, her vision narrowed until she saw the prey and the chase. It only took until they were on the very edge of the park before she leapt and tackled him from behind. She still wasn't breathing heavy while on top of him. She put an elbow on his neck and her knees on the back of his thighs, just above his knees. She had him pinned and was panting hard but not sweating anymore.
From a nearby car came the man with the baby and a policeman, both had drawn weapons. They were both a little shocked when they saw her, and the uniformed officer tossed the other man his cuffs. "Alright miss get up off him, and don't you move LAPD you're under arrest. Brown call for an ambulance and when I get him cuffed head that way." The other officer nodded as the man knelt beside her to place her prey under arrest.
Caitlin looks up and scowled heavily pressing further on hip for a moment, until the guns were closer and then she blinked and calmed down a little. Caitlin looked down and was sort of confused for a moment though, she rolled off of him, standing up from the dirt and dusting herself off. She couldn't have gotten off any other way, any pressure on his neck and there might have been nerve damage to his legs she could have broken them trying to get up that way. Shaking out her hair a little she looked over at the two men, an officer and the man she had helped with his little girl. "Where’s your daughter?" Caitlin asks softly, worried the girl had been left alone in the park.
As he finished cuffing the man, the other officer hurried to the woman. "Brown's partner is with her at my car, what in the world were you thinking." He brought her gaze down to a knife the attacker dropped when she tackled him. It was slick with blood, "I applaud your decision to get involved, but you could have gotten hurt." The man spit out some blood and a tooth and started to curse about Caitlin and the police.
"I didn't see the knife... just heard a call for help. Thought I could help." Caitlin says shrugging her shoulders. She already had her breath back, but her blood was pumping and right now this man... was attractive actually. She tried not to look at men around this time, but... he wasn't letting her not do it. She looked him over and took a deep breath, she didn't smell a woman, she smelt the little girl, and... a hint of... nothing, the man had turned the moment was gone and so was the scent. She blinked a few times; she didn't like getting dazed so easily.
James put the perp in the patrol car and came back with a clip board. Molly was safe with Yun, having been around the patrolman from the softball team. "Ok miss I need some information, name and address?" he asked. She was attractive; he hadn't taken a really good look when she had talked to them earlier. Some lucky guy would have been suicidal had he lost a girlfriend like her.
"Oh... I... ahahaha I actually don't know the address... I'm staying with a friend of mine... her name is Robin; she lives by the nation forest not far out of town. My name is Caitlin..." Cait said softly trying to look at the clipboard; it almost wasn't worth saving someone all this trouble with addresses and names. "Hero's in comic books don't leave all this information." She says softly looking over at the car with his daughter in it. She was a sweet little girl, a little pudgy, blond and hazel eyed. Caitlin sighed softly; the way she was... she might never have children. She might never have a normal relationship or any kind of relationship at all.
He looked at her and smiled just a little, "Caitlin, so is there a last name to go with the first? And if I could then get a last name for Robin, that way I can just look it up." James was a little curious about where she came from. "How about a phone number in case the DA needs you to make another statement. You'll need to take a minute to fill this statement form out." he explained as he handed her the clipboard.
"Sure, I'll write it on the form... I... you know... I can't remember her last name right now... she um... She's a writer though, she writes fiction, about demons and werewolves and vampires too I think. Oh! Robin Weeks! That’s her name! I've only been staying with her a few days." Cait said softly taking the clipboard and writing down everything she knew, it wasn't a lot but it had her number, and Robin’s name. She was hesitating over her last name; there was at least one legal document out there, a missing persons search from when she was fourteen. There might have been some other things, theft, hit and run maybe, Marcus was strict and demanded a lot of things from the members of his pack. She almost didn't want to put her last name down.
"Alright, I think with her name I can get the other information to fill in. Again miss, you were very brave, but he might have seriously harmed you if he had not dropped the knife." He held her gaze as he cautioned her; it was the line cops had to give anyone who put themselves in harm’s way. "Is there any questions you have about this statement, otherwise I can give you my card." He pulled the card out from behind the forms; his gun was tucked into the back of his shorts.
"Do you always carry your gun around when you take your daughter out? It's going to teach her that the world isn't safe and one should take precautions... unless her father is there to save her. I'm not afraid of a man with a knife. Because a man with a knife doesn't always mean a man who knows how to use one. I have no questions, what I did was dangerous and right and saved that woman’s purse and identity, it also got a minor street thug a record which means some time in the future if he doesn't change... he will be put where the world needs to get rid of him." Caitlin says taking the card and putting it in the pocket of her short shorts. She saw the warning for what it was supposed to be. She smiled brightly at him. "If you want to talk about more philosophy of safety and using oneself as a weapon or defensive tool let me know. There's got to be a few nights your babysitter can take for you that leave you free to mingle with the non-cop folk." Cait grins again handing him back his pen.
"Well, my gun was in the car in its lock box, and at one point I also carried my MP5 and SWAT gear around too." Her comment about mingling with non-cop types was surprising. "Well, sometimes the babysitter isn't very co-operative. It's sometimes hard to get a sitter while I'm on duty, but that would be nice, Caitlin." He was well out of practice trying to pick up a woman, and this one was beautiful and smart.
Caitlin smiled brightly. "You look like a cop you know that? Besides I'm sure your mother loves spending time with her granddaughter, and would love for you to find a woman again... Don't worry... I'll save you again and be the hero for you." Caitlin said teasingly before turning and jogging off, nothing like a mystery to keep a man interested... at least that's what the magazines all said about it. Really her vagina was just screaming at her to go back and offer to find a place for them. she had enough presence of mind to know she should head back to Robin's and prepare for the night, no more chance encounters with good looking better smelling men for her.
She saw the other patrolman bring the little girl, Molly to her father. "So, you get all the information from her?" Yun asked as James took her from him. "Actually Pete, I think we may have made a flirt into a date?" he said. "Crap, I gotta get us home and cleaned up so Brenda can watch her while I head in, what about the woman?" "She'll be ok, knife didn't hit anything major just some stitches and painkillers."
Caitlin took off at a run, the woman was fine, and so was her identity and her money. Cait did a good job and she knew that, but it had been about the chase and beating the prey. She might have gotten a lot more hostile had she known about the bloody knife the man had on him. She needed to get out of town before she became violent, for blood or even for sex. Hitting on the cop with a kid, who wasn't in uniform wasn't the best idea and it meant more of the instincts were popping up.
When she arrived back at Robins the inner front door was open. And after entering the house she could smell chicken, potatoes, and biscuits. She could also smell something like alcohol and a scent she didn't recognize. The study was quiet, probably meaning Robin was in another room. "Caitlin is that you? I was hoping you would be back soon."
"Robin..." Caitlin called letting her know it was her but she was very wary. This close to changing she wanted to get everything together and eat then go. But she smelled alcohol, something she hadn't smelled before, and now something she didn't even recognize. It was worrying, especially this close to the end... so close to the time of changing, so close to when only baser instincts take over and she has no control.
Robin appeared at the doorway to the kitchen, "I made fried chicken and well I guess you can smell the rest. I also have a few things to discuss with you before we head up to the safe room. If you get a shower and I laid out a set of old sweats I had laying around. That way if they get destroyed there is no loss. We can talk about everything else over dinner."
"I smell alcohol Robin... and something else... Something I'm not positive I know. I have my own clothes Robin, this isn't my first change. It's not my hundredth either. It's your first for me. I've got enough worries right now. The police might call... I sort of saved someone and caught the attacker." Caitlin said softly watching Robin warily, she still couldn't tell after a week if the woman was scheming up something or not. She was trusting her with the bunker and changing but... it was possible she had changed and wasn't so trustworthy.
"It's rubbing Alcohol, and a tranquilizer that I planned on offering you. I'm trying to do everything the way I thought Joe would, and I apologize if I am messing it up. I never wasn't much good as a hunter, did better as a scholar." Robin was a little disappointed that Caitlin's tone belayed that she really didn't trust her. "I'll put them away, if you will just come and eat before we head to the safe room."
"Oh thank god! I thought you were like Joe and going to use some kind of compound to shake on me or wave some old mummified shrunken head at me!" Caitlin said sagging a little with relief; it was something normal that was nice. Cait walked into the dining/kitchen and began setting the table. She felt back she couldn't help her with the dishes. It couldn't be helped though. "Um... There was a mugger in the park I run in... I stopped him, apparently he stabbed the woman he stole the purse from, the cops came and took him and I gave them your name and my number. I didn't remember any of the other information." Caitlin says as she finished setting the table.
"We will handle that after the cycle, it is L.A. and the police are sometimes slow. Just as long as you weren't harmed, is really all that matters. I will come back up and get you in the morning, and we will go over the safe room to check on its solidity. Anything else happen while you were out on your run." She brought the food and the iced tea to the table and had a seat.
"I flirted with the cop and... sort of tried to pick him up, as in a dating... he had a two year old daughter. There was no mommy." Caitlin said softly as she sat down and filled her plate of food. She said a prayer over her plate and began eating. She would eat maybe twice as much as usual and then they would leave, she already had the bag packed and had just about everything ready. She just needed to get dressed for the bunker and then they could go basically.
"Since when did police take children out on the job? And you found him interesting?" she asked. Having seen other werewolves, she had cooked enough to fill Caitlin. "I figured if you had wanted it I would offer the tranquilizer, a vet friend gave it to me earlier this year. I also believe before too long I will have to make arrangements for a new safe room." Robin passed the platter of fried chicken to Caitlin first.
"He was off... apparently. You know that stuff does expire, and stop being affective. It wears off after about four to six months I believe. It would have to be really strong to affect me very much anyways you know? I'll be fine though, I usually am, and I tried to wear myself out today." Caitlin said as she continued to eat, she ate and ate, and ate some more because she was hungry and her wolf counterpart would be less aggressive if she wasn't hungry at all.
"Well, if you believe that you'll be ok, then I trust your judgment. So, if this policeman calls again, then what?" Robin was rather interested in what had changed in just a couple of days. Caitlin was special, Joe had said so and he was a good judge of character. "The bundle over on the counter has more food for the wolf tonight, to ease things along."
"Well I'll be gone all weekend... but... I'm not sure. He smelled... virile... good. He was... the only female I could smell was his little girl and he... was strong he handled the man I caught rather easily... and chased down the man on the beach. I... I'm just not sure actually." Caitlin said as she continued to eat, after a little bit she refilled her plate and continued to eat. "I suppose... I can go on a date with him, there’s no harm in a single date." Caitlin said softly thinking it over between bites.
Robin had a little on her plate and smiled broadly. "Well, I guess we will see if you're still attracted to him when not starting a heat cycle. But, making a friend or two is good, and I was also thinking about your future and fitting in here." She considered her words with a long sip of tea, "Caitlin I know from Joe that you didn't graduate high school, I think we will need to arrange for you to get a GED." She hoped she didn't offend the young woman, but an education was very important.
"Why? Do I need one to get a job waitressing? Or even to buy and own a place? I thought I just needed to get the license and money and stuff. What use is all the testing to me?" Caitlin asks suspiciously, she finished her second plate and contemplated more but thought better of it and left it at two heaping plates she had already eaten. She wondered if the attraction really was only because of her heat cycle being right now? Maybe she was just attracted to him was all... though he had a little girl and that wasn't really a good thing especially since she was in a new place and her control wasn't the best right now.
Robin nudged the plate of chicken to her, "I made enough to make sure you were full. And even waitresses and business owners are looked at better when they have a diploma. And we will have to wait until you are at least twenty-one for a liquor license." She was trying to be helpful; Caitlin seemed to desire a simple life. And given what would happen in just a couple of hours was anything but simple.
"Why do I need to look better when I'm not Robin? I'm not even on equal footing to anyone else. So why should it bother me that they think I'm simple because I don't have a diploma?" Caitlin asked eating the chicken, she didn't want to be too full because then it would boost her energy, Robin didn't seem to care though...Robin was strange, as if she knew what she was and what would happen but she had never seen what happened and came to terms with the fact that Caitlin was at ease and peace about it all.
Robin sighed and took another sip of tea, "What I meant is you might need a small business loan. And to apply they will look at various details of your life. Joe and I had discussed a way to help you with background checks; I've done it before with others I've helped." Caitlin acted like she wasn't anything special, but she was and it was what would make her seem normal that mattered. "I know it's horrible to say but, to hide under people's noses you have to blend in, and that is what a GED is, that you grew up and instead of school you had to study on your own.
"I thought I was blending just fine? The only problem with the loan would be... The missing persons notice from Michigan. Um... I think anyways." Caitlin says eating some more; if her mouth was full there couldn't be answers to some of the questions. She was sure there would be questions even Joe had asked about her past. She needed to grab her bag from her room upstairs before heading to the bunker and she began to go over their plans and all she would need to do and have done before they officially left for the weekend to cage her up.
"I know someone who can help with that, we'll go to that after the cycle ends. And we will leave your bag in the trunk and I'll bring it in when I come back at first light. And other than tackling a mugger you are blending just fine." Robin took her plate and washed it before putting the food away, once she was ready to go it would be only a short drive. Robin chuckled a little when she opened the front door and went to sit on the porch to wait.
Caitlin sighed softly and got up, after helping a little with the dishes she went upstairs. Pulling on a pair of old sweats cut into shorts, there was an elastic band and a tie, and a sports bra, they were cheap to buy she often bought up to five at a time, so if they ripped or the elastic stretched badly after two or three uses then it was okay. Wearing these clothes she pulled on a t-shirt over top of it and slung the bag of real clothes on her back. It would be nice to have these things, she put socks and a brush and hair tie in the bag as well, she was wearing her own shoes there and back so that wasn't a problem at all. Once she was done she headed downstairs and opened the door. "Ready." She says softly with a smile.
They drove up to the cemetery in silence, and Robin unlocked the mausoleum and walked with her down to the bunker. "I will be back shortly after nine tomorrow or earlier if you prefer. I will also bring some water and that so you can clean up a little bit." She hugged Caitlin tightly, "I hope everything goes ok." She then went back to the door and waited a second or two, before she would seal it.
"Good night Robin." Cait called before lighting the sconces on the wall. The natural light of the fire would be more welcome to her wolven self then the artificial light of a flashlight or anything else would be. She took off her t-shirt and decided to leave the shorts and sport bra on, it was chilly and once she changed she'd rip them off or wiggle out of them soon enough. Though she wondered if she could do the full transformation again like Marcus had, she thought she had been able to do it once while with Joe, she hadn't spoken about it but she knew you had to be very powerful to be able to do it. Not only that but you had to be able to control the change... she might not be able to do it. But she wanted to try.
After she sealed the door she pressed her hand against it, "Be well Caitlin." She then retreated up the hall and secured the gate at the bottom of the stairs, then the one at the top. Halting at the top she produced her cell phone and dialed a number, then after hearing the voice mail prompt simply said, "I need to speak with you this week." Hanging up she exited and secured the mausoleum and headed to her car. "Hello Joe, yes she is in the bunker and everything is going well." she told him before driving off.

Inside as the moon rose into the sky Cait fell to the floor, it was impossible to stay on her feet when she transformed. "AAH!" She cried out in almost pained pleasure, somewhere along the way while her bones shifted and her muscles realigned, while her body rippled as fur almost burst out of her skin it had begun to feel good to change. The tingle of... the change or magic... energy running across her nerves she trembled and moaned until finally she stood and opened her eyes. The amber orbs looking about the room, sniffing the air, sneezing at the dust, the sorrow, the fire. No fresh air, cement... cage... door? Air... She followed it and growled savagely, more grey. She punched the door it didn't budge she growled louder and began to pace around searching for a way out, pausing only at her things and smelling the older woman of paper and older woman. Out she had to get out, she needed to run, she had to hunt this was her time she needed to mate. Man she needed a male, something to fuck her, dominate her. She began to pound on the door and throw her body against it. Thus her night was spent, growling and howling her rage and she raged against the door to gain her freedom. Whimpering every so often as her need went unfulfilled. It was almost painful to bear, the need to mate the need for freedom. In an unfamiliar place it only made her angrier and she left blood smeared on the walls from wounds she inflicted backing herself against the door. The night ran on and it was only until the moon began to set that she ate the meat left behind by Robin and when she was finished the sun was rising and she lay on the ground. Her body shifting back, smaller less lethal and a lot less furry.
Robin arrived almost an hour after the sun was up; she got the bag out of the trunk and the paper bag and coffee from the front seat. She produced the key and began to unlock all of the gates. Finally she opened the sealed door, and peeked inside. Seeing Caitlin laying naked on the ground she took out the blanket and covered her before looking around at everything. The bunker was old and it wouldn't contain her very long, her phone call was prophetic about this.
"Mmmm" Cait moaned shivering, pulling the blanket tight around her body to heat herself up quicker. She rubbed her eyes and looked around. "Robin?!" She sat up and shivered harder pulling the blanket around her front as well. She was blushing brightly; she hadn't meant to flash the older woman. "I... uh kind of made a mess of the place... Sorry." Cait said after seeing the somewhat caving pavement and the blood smeared all over the walls and floor. She however wasn't hurt at all, she didn't feel sore anywhere other then... well there. But that was normal for this. The fresh air smelled so good though even the sunlight smelled good from down here.
"You aren't the first naked woman I've seen darling, there is some breakfast, and the coffee is black, but cream and sugar in the bag along with food. And the damage isn't sever I don't think, your bag is right here with clothes. I also have somethings to clean up the mess, especially the blood, although it might calm you tonight." She was happy that everything was alright when she opened the door, and handed her water, rag and towel to wash up with. The old bunker may not last too much longer, but it did have a good run and helped many other Lycans.
Cait nodded and cleaned herself up quickly, and then dressed. She was happy her sports bra managed to survive and it wasn't stretched out at all! The plastic clasp just popped. Which was good because it did that under stress as a way to prevent breaking it. So in short shorts and her SB once again she adds sugar and cream to the coffee and eats the food while letting it cool. "I... I'm sorry about the damage... I thought that somehow the way you made it sound that this place would hold me. I mean it did but I'm kind of shocked at how much... I did." Cait cleaned up everything as good as she could and with her socks and shoes on and bag over her shoulder she smiled brightly. "Think it would be okay for me to run after I finish my coffee?" She asks happily enough.
"Maybe not through the cemetery, but a quick stop at the park perhaps. And it held up very well for years before you. I am already working on finding a new place for your needs." The exited the mausoleum and got into the car to head to the park and them home. "Do you remember anything else from your transformation?" she asked curious.
"Yeap, I remember everything. I was so anxious to get out of that room, there was no fresh air, there was no real scent but yours and mine in the room. It drove me nuts! I rammed the wall over and over; I even tried to punch my way out. Man I was going crazy with the NEED to mate. It almost... it sort of begins to actually hurt when you don't mate. Like when you have a scab and you pinch it. It hurts like that but all the way up my gut. I'll run home, you don't have to wait for me and I promise I'll not run out of energy before I get back! Don't worry it's completely okay now that its daylight!" Caitlin smiles happily. She recalled the details though most of it was still sort of fuzzy, she was mostly a scent driven creature when she changed so sometimes she had little spots where she couldn't remember what she did but not often anymore. She was just back to being cheerful Cait once again.
Robin let her out at the park, "Have fun and try not to be too late & what do you like on pizza?" She waited to see what Caitlin liked before driving off. The park wasn't very busy, the usual joggers and anyone with free time on this thursday morning. Caitlin could see some of the people she saw before and one in particular at the chin up station. Only today no little girl in a stroller and she was pretty sure no gun.
"Pepperoni, cheese and green olives!!" Cait smiled telling Robin, the moment she was out of the car she was assaulted with the scents, of children food men and woman, sweat and water. His scent came to her immediately and she turned to look. Since she most often moved with her beast when it was daytime during the cycle it was usually when she was the most heightened, to smells and colors and well everything around her, her hearing got sharper and so did everything else. Like her Libido. She dropped to the ground and began stretching the entire time watching him to do the chin ups. She refused to do those exercises because it didn't do anything to her, when she was transformed she could like a small toyota on her own, not completely off the ground or anything but she was immensely strong. Those exercises were pretty much useless so she ran instead, it was something she and her wolven self agreed to.
He finished the last of his rep and began to stretch to run, a couple quick laps around the park, shower, maybe lunch and a quick stop at the SWAT range, and of course a phone call to Molly. He set off on a run, having not noticed Robin's car or his friend from the other day. However, he thought of her often, young, beautiful and smart. Just what the hell did she see in him? He ran towards the trail leading along the canal.
Caitlin finished her exercises and smiled, he was taking the track she always did. Or had been since she got to Robin's and started to run. Getting to her feet she put her hair in a pony tail and started to run, she was probably going to run all day, until dinner of course and then she would run to Robins. She was hoping it would tire her out if she ran all day. The state of the bunker meant she needed less energy tonight or it might not hold, even though Robin seemed convinced it would. Cait ran, her gait bringing her up to his rear pretty quickly, after all not only was she in heat, he was good looking too. So continuing her speed she acted as if she didn't know who it was and continued to run. Though she inhaled his scent heavily.
His scent differed slightly, a female smell, but not exactly like someone he was close with. The gait at which he ran was unhurried, reminding her of the military movie she watched once. They trained the men to run at a certain gait and speed so they would still be battle ready when they arrived. The ducks where swimming in the canal and the park felt rather peaceful today. As they got farther out less people were here, and the sounds of breathing and footfalls were the only thing to be heard.
The way Cait ran was energy burning, once they had gotten out in the outer edges of the park she was almost even with him, she almost growled at the smell of a woman, but from her guess the other day it was probably the baby sitter or something. She was keeping herself under control well though it was usually rather easy to do so in the daylight. She was almost herself... usually. She could smell his sweat, not that he was really sweating much yet, but it was good. She was having to concentrate of running rather then watching him run. She drew up beside him and was just slightly ahead of him in no time.
He had not realized someone was on the trail with him and was even more surprised by who it was. Almost immediately he took in almost every detail he could see. "Hi, fancy seeing you out here again." he tried to create a little small talk. It had been so long since Sandra left and honestly a single daddy turned most women away. Trying to act nonchalant as he had a momentary thought of what she looked like without the shorts and little top.
"Oh, hi again." Cait said turning to look with a smile. She slowed down enough to match his pace, if he wanted to talk to her then that was okay, as long as she didn't try to chase him down or ravish him or anything. "I'm surprised to see you again, though I see you don't have your daughter with you this time?" Cait made it a question; after all he could have brought the babysitter to watch the little girl at the park while he ran. She smelled again and was almost instantly aware he was slightly aroused.
"Molly is spending time with faux-aunt Brenda." he said with moderate distaste. What a dazzling smile and nice tone in her voice far too good a woman for him to get near. Still it didn't keep him from thinking about her. "So, everything ok with your move so far?" he asked trying to get the mental image of bodies off his mind. "Good thing I'm not running behind her." he thought to himself.
"Oh uh good... little complication though, my truck stopped working so it's getting repaired this weekend. Everything starts on monday I guess though. So why Faux-aunt?" Cait asks interestedly, wanting to know if there were other women surrounding her interest she would have to take down. Really the way he was watching her body, how his eyes slid and them he straightened them back up, it was making her more and more aware of how far out and how alone they had become in the park. " Good thing I'm not still chasing him down." she thought to herself, she was behaving well enough now but she was watching him in her peripheral vision and mmmmm.
"Brenda was Molly's mother's friend, and we despise each other. The only reason I have anything to do with her is because she is Molly's god-mother." he explained simply. "That is too bad about the truck how old is it?" trying to keep the small talk going. They passed another runner and left her far behind. "God, I bet she is tight all over, just look at her abs, sweat just trickles down to her." he was suddenly lost in thoughts of what one might find under those shorts.
"I don't actually know Joe gave it to me I'm pretty sure it is probably a classic by now or something, it's rusty but it's a good truck. Probably a chevy or something, I'm sorry about you and Brenda hating each other, which must make it kind of tough on Molly." Cait said softly, she caught a whiff as the wind rushed past from behind them; he was really getting himself worked up. It made her lick her lips and swallow, "control... Like Joe said Cait control." she thought to herself trying not to zero in on his crotch or anything either. She’d never done small talk before so she didn't know if she was even doing okay.
"She's a bit stuck up and encourages Molly to ignore me. But, my girl is better than that." he praised her. "Am I talking to much about Molly, I mean anything to get the picture of pressing together behind a tree and going after each other." he thought. "I know a guy who has a good knack with fixing old trucks. Umm if you call that number or I could call your friend's and leave the number if you like."
"That’s sweet but I think I'm okay... I mean I've fixed it a couple times when it was easy, but I'm sure the place I went to will have it done." Cait smiles softly. "Especially since I'm lying..." she thought to herself before she went back to the conversation at hand.”So for a cop I didn't imagine one would be so virile... er young I mean. Or fit, the cops out where I last lived were kind of overweight and slow." Cait laughs softly trying to lesson the tension especially with the slip up of words. She had to stop thinking of letting him ram into her from behind some bushes.
"Virile..I'm glad you aren't looking too hard and you aren't showing more than you are. I'm about ready to pop a stitch." he thought growing a little more excited. "I was SWAT up until Molly's mom died, department won't allow me to put myself in harms way. And I agree to a point, being a cop is dangerous period but it is all I have been." They made it around to where the water fountain she had pointed out was.
"Wow... it must be rough... I used to belong to a... group of sorts I suppose, we were really close. It was hard when I left. Mind if we stop? My mouths a little dry." Cait asks with a smile, it was interesting finding out so much about this man. It meant he knew how to handle himself... and had a lot of training, self defense and specialty. They were similar to a point, her with her pack and him with his job. Where he was strong and capable and fertile, he was also highly aroused and she couldn't stop noticing how much tighter his shorts had gotten and how much her own desire was being amped up. She knew she looked good, when she ran she had a six pack, she was lean and muscled but still soft, she had a nice round butt from all the running, and her breasts while they weren't big were a handful at least. She knew she looked good and the more she found out about this man the more almost dangerous it was to be near him.
"That's fine the fountain you pointed out is right up here." he said back. "Just please do not bend over too far in those!"He thought, and then was a little appalled he barely knew her and was lusting after her like this. "Well, I still see all the guys I was in with like I might go to the firing range and keep the skills sharp." He waited to get his drink after she did. "Actually, I was thinking about getting a shower and lunch first, I don't usually run around like this for hours covered in sweat."
Cait smiled before leaning over, she didn't want to entice him too badly, but her short shorts rode up a little and she leaned over the fountain opening her mouth to swallow the water. She wished she had a normal life like he did, but that was why she was here after all. To get a normal life. Once she got her drink she cupped her hands and once they were filled with water dumped it over the back of her neck, she needed to cool down and stop teasing with him so much, even though she wasn't doing it vocally her wolf was definitely driving her physically driving him crazy she was sure. Standing up to let the cold water run down her back she sighed happily, it was helping a little.
As she dumped the water over her back he leaned down to get a drink himself, the water was cold and felt good running down his throat. The only bad thing was he was gazing at her stomach. He was excited and noticed every inch of her. He hadn't felt like this in a while towards a woman. "So, how long are you going to run for?" he asked trying to change the subject and tear his eyes away from her.
"I don't really know... Robin isn't expecting me until dinner, so I was going to grab something from the hotdog cart probably. No real plans. I just like to run. I'll just wander around until I head back probably." Cait said while they were stopped she took the time to stretch out her back; it felt a little stiff from last night's activity. She bent back and to each side and then bracing her legs right down. She rested her head on her hands almost below her body. Then as she got up she began to move into touching her toes and work her way up from there. While he was drinking anyways she wanted to get any kinks out of her back.
"Well, I got to say if you do it doesn't show, you're in perfect shape." he didn't want to make it seem like he was drooling over her. But he couldn't help it, he kept seeing her in different things and every uniformed job she looked hot. "So, what do you do for a living, we have talked so much about me how about you?" When she bent and twisted he almost felt like he was going to lose his mind. And shockingly he had not seen a tan line anywhere on her literally perfect body.
Cait smiled and looked over at him, seeing his lusty eyes she smiled wider. "That made no sense!" She giggles softly before stretching her shoulders too. "I just moved here, I'm looking for an apartment to rent actually. I haven't got a job yet but I'm good at waitressing and even bartending, though I'm pretty young I guess." Cait says still smiling she walked up closer to him, reaching up with her hand she closed his mouth. "You’ll catch flies like that officer." She teases with a giggle.
"I'm sorry it’s just well you know...you’re really attractive. And after the other day I didn't think I'd see you again." He blushed a little as he admitted it. And the only thing he wanted to do was to catch was her and peel her outfit off. Before he could say anything else his phone rang, "Um, I gotta get this could be important."
"Yeah sure of course." Cait smiles brightly, she dropped onto the grass to stretch some more, she growled though very animalistically at having been thwarted. She needed to cool down though; it wasn't good to go along with him like this. She knew that but she was having a hard time actually doing it. She might have to actually fight for control against those urges. It was going to be one of the first times she had to fight so hard. She hoped he was called away and she desperately hoped it was nothing and they would fuck like animals.
"Well, my day might be finished early; Brenda is bringing Molly back after 2p.m. because she has a date. So, we can run until about noon and then I'll have to get home to shower." He smiled and offered her a hand up, the first physical contact he had with her today. His eyes never left hers and studied her face to see if she would accept his hand. "At least this time she bothered to call and tell me about brining Molly home."
Cait looked up at him her almost amber brown eyes taking in his face, he seemed hopeful and honest. Cait smiled softly and reached up, taking his hand and letting him help pull her up. She didn't need it but it was nice of him to offer it none the less. Once standing she was only maybe a foot away and she took a deep breath inhaling his scent, it was now tinged with anger. "You shouldn't let her get away without informing you of what she does with your daughter James. Remember it's an honor to watch the young, and it's a privilege to be trusted with those babies. An honor and privilege you can take away at any time." Caitlin said her voice a little deeper then before, she leaned forward a little to look into his eyes, he held her gaze the entire time and she still hadn't released his hand yet. Her body was thrilling to be touching his flesh it had been years since she had run from Marcus and likewise years since she had slept with a man.
"You are just too good to be true Caitlin." his voice was deepening with desire for her. This was just too crazy, they met yesterday, but he wanted to find somewhere out of the way and have sex until he had to get home. "Well, you don't need a babysitting job do you? The pay may not be much, but I'd find a way to make up for it." he smiled again. Brenda be damned if he had to pay her and make her cum for every time she watched Molly then he was getting a hell of a deal. "It’s just that I can't refuse her to see Molly, I know Brenda loves her, even though we don't see eye to eye."
"You need to let her know that it's because you LET her that she gets to see Molly. It's because of YOU that Brenda get's to spend time with her. You CAN refuse and if Brenda treats you like dirt Molly will think you are dirt. Stop letting Brenda dominate you." Caitlin said blinking slowly, she leaned forward even closer and took a single step; they were inches away from each other. Cait was breathing deep controlled breaths as she began fighting herself now. She still held onto his hand with hers, the topic was all but lost on Cait now as she was so close and with a sound deep in her throat almost a growl but not quite she leaned forward and up and sealed their lips together in a kiss.
James wrapped his arms around her and pulled her tightly to him. He slipped his tongue into her mouth and massaged hers. One of his hands rested on the soft curve of her butt and squeezed. There was nothing to say, they were both breathing heavily and when she leaned forward he gave up. Caitlin was the hottest, sexiest woman he had ever seen and this kiss was primal and felt so right.
Caitlin ran her tongue across his, her arms holding him around the chest around his lower back and shoulder tightly to her. Pushing her hips against his budding erection, she knew she should have stopped. When she saw him she knew it was dangerous and yet she was curious. Now there was no stopping there was no choice, they held each other so tightly there was no option to flee now. She wasn't a model, nor was she even a runner up for a model but, she had that primal beauty that every man reacted to, she had the curves and the set that men watched. She had the confidence and energy around her people got sucked in to. James felt the draw and she had chosen.
Moving out of view of everyone else in the park he pushed her against a wide tree and continued to kiss her deeply. His hand came to the back of her neck and massaged it. His other hand rested on her hip and he squeezed her, never had he felt such an animalistic hunger for someone. He didn't have protection and couldn't, shouldn't want her this badly. Part of him wanted to feel her wrap around him and fall in to this sexual frenzy.
Cait moaned into the kiss, being shoved against the tree, him holding her in place it was good, so good. His kiss, his hands, his need, his cock getting rigid and hard against her pelvis. She moved her hand down and grabbed his ass pulling his hips flush against her so she could rotate and rub up against him. She was heating up, she was going crazy, she needed him. Robin had given her condoms and Cait was glad she had put one in each back pocket of the four pairs of pants/shorts she owned. She was almost growling in pleasure now, but she wanted him to touch her more drive her more crazy.
He snaked a hand into her shorts and rubbed her bare ass and his other went to her chest. She was insatiable and he was reaching the point that he had to have her. This kind of thing didn't happen, or at least not to him, although right now who gave a good goddamn. He would chase her tongue into her mouth then let her come back into his. He parted from her mouth long enough to whisper, "I need you so badly." before slipping his tongue back into her mouth.
Cait moaned against him, their kiss stealing the breath from her almost as they tried to get as close as possible. He needed her? She had to have him inside of her; she had to have him now! Releasing his ass the reach into her back pocket she pulled out the condom and pulled his hand out of her shorts putting the package in his hand. Pulling out of the kiss she whispered an almost growled command. "I need you now. Fuck me please... please I need you." She whined softly before biting his earlobe. She continued to rub and rotate her hips against him making him grow with need. She continued the bites down to his neck, the scent of him, and his blood just beneath the surface the pulse beating against her lips. "Fuck me... Fuck me please please hurry!" She whispers and whined, she was fighting now, for sex and not violence. She was rubbing herself shamelessly against him over and over.
He quickly noticed a spot where no one would see them and drug her inside, shutting the door and locking it. James kissed her deeply and began to pull at her clothes while hurrying to unwrap the condom. Then he stripped off his shirt and pulled down his shorts. "Pull them down or off just hurry." he implored her. His hands rubbed and teased her breasts then he felt her crotch and noted she was excited too.
She pulled the shorts down and turned around. It was the fastest way and she needed him. She grabbed onto the counter tightly until her knuckles were white and she leaned over presenting herself to him, she had let the short fall and took one foot out of them, she spread her legs enough so she could stay stable. "Hurry! Put it in... please... hurry!!" Cait moaned panting hard as she pushed her ass out towards him. She was in such need it was hurting her almost; she needed him inside of her so badly.
He took his member and guided it to her and drew her back onto him. James moaned as he sank into her, she was so tight that it wasn't funny. Once fully inside he began to thrust over and over, speeding and slowing down varying the rhythm until it was what she wanted. Reaching around he began to rub her breast. Caitlin was something special he knew it; she was desirable and apparently wanted him too.
Cait cried out sharply, his cock pushing into her felt so good, the harder he rammed himself into her and the deeper he got was so much the better. She clung to the counter until she felt it begin to crush in her hands. There was no mirror in front of her, and thank god because right now her eyes too had changed from her brown amber to yellow. "AH! M-more! Harder! Oh god please! Fuck me! Hard!" Cait begged even as her body clamped tightly around him. It felt so good even with the condom he was wearing so good, it felt better when he was deep and hard inside of her. She was working hard to keep anything else from changing, her strength and eyes was enough she was struggling now to keep herself normal... human.
She was hot, her body felt like a pulsing furnace wrapped around him. He bent his head and kissed her neck, as he pulled on her nipple. His other hand held her hip still as he continued to thrust harder and faster as she wanted. Still he was surprised at how quickly they had gone from strangers to fucking like horny kids. James hoped she didn't think he expected this from her, he generally thought about really wanting to get to know her.
"Ah! Yes! HA! AAH!" Cait cried out as he did as she asked. It was perfect, he was perfect, and she was getting close he was so good at this... so good. She was getting so much closer, she hadn't wanted to do this at first but maybe this was okay after all. As long as she didn't change of course. It was after several minutes of his thrusting her body tightened around him even further and she threw back her head. The wood creaked under her hands as she fought to contain herself even as she broke the counter and kept it hidden. "AAAAAAAHHH!!" She cried out it was almost a howl but not quite... her body clamped tightly around James’s cock as she climaxed for the first time in almost a lot of years.
The muscles inside her were almost like a vice, but all the thrusting and touching was worth it. As she tightened around him he felt his climax erupt and he pulled her tightly on to him again. "Yes, oh fucking god.." he called out rubbing and stroking her. James kissed the back of her neck and stroked her rock hard abs, until he pulled himself free. His hands began to turn her over so he could kiss her mouth again or at least touch her face or breasts.
Cait closed her eyes tightly and panted hard; she rose up and brought his mouth to meet hers. She plunged her tongue into his mouth and kissed him deeply. She was panting still, and as the euphoria wore down a little and she quickly got herself under control again. She opened them and broke the kiss... Looking up at his face she smiled wickedly and leaned down kissing his chest until she got to a meaty part of his pecs. Then she bit him, hard enough to leave a bruise, far enough down that a shirt would cover it. But not in a locker room. Even a wife beater would show the bruise, but a t-shirt wouldn't. His uniform would cover it well, as an added fun bit she latched onto his neck between the neck and shoulder. Sucking and licking the same spot, nothing like a three day hickey to leave some memories.
"Oh, you bad girl, two can play this game." He whispered in a throaty whisper. Once she let go, he lowered to his knee and drew her close and gave her the same treatment on her bikini line, jeans would hide it, but her running shorts would show just a hinting little bit. While down there he stroked her thighs and teasingly drug his finger right beside her nether lips. Once he finished with her souvenir, and slowly rose kissing a line back up to her breasts, neck, and ending at her mouth. "When can I see you, maybe dinner and a chance to get to know each other more." he punctuated each word with a kiss on her lips.
"Call me on monday... Then let me know your days off. We'll work something out." Cait said her voice deep and throaty; she finished her sentence by licking his lips and worming her tongue into his mouth for another deep kiss. Already she was feeling the need again, as much pleasure as she had gotten her bodies goal was pregnancy not just pleasure. She was heating up for a second round but she didn't have any more condoms and even the slightest chance of his junk touching her inside might mean disaster. Cait was panting still and even though it would take a few minutes to regain her breath back she knew right now that wasn't why she was panting. She might have to run... back to Robins... or rather back to the mausoleum and call robin to come lock her in early. She needed to get control.
"Monday? Its thursday the twenty seventh, you are gonna make me wait five whole days? How about dinner Friday maybe a movie or perhaps a walk out onto the pier?" He wanted to see her again soon; even before the sex he enjoyed her company. And that was rare anymore because he dated only three times since Sandra passed. Really only one of those even made it sex and only three times at that.
"Monday's four days not five... I'm busy friday and have an interview for a job saturday... Maybe on sunday we can possibly work something out." Cait said kissing him in the pauses as she spoke, his hands still held the back of her head and her bare ass. Hers were wrapped around his shoulders and with all the kissing and his definite interest in her she was gearing up again. She felt that struggle start up again and broke from the last kiss to rest her forehead against his chest with her head down. Her eyes had gone back to wolven amber and she was panting again, if she could get the pouch of herbs out of her back pocket she might get control back, but there was no easy or graceful way to do that, especially when it would put her so close to his cock which was right in view suddenly, she reached out for it and instead of gripping it directly she rubbed the base where it connected to his body.
He gasped at the contact, "Oh fuck, Caitlin you said it yourself we had only the one rubber. And considering we haven't had a first date, bareback riding is a bit quick." She obviously like he wanted more, letting go of her cheek he slipped a finger inside her and began to thrust it back and forth. Leaning close to her ear he breathed heavily, "How about we go this route?" Bringing his thumb closer to her clit and began to rub it, wanting to get her excited enough to escalate this sexual touching.
"Aahhh, yyyeessss." Cait moans before with a feral grin she used her other hand and pulled his knee, she wanted him on the ground on his back. She had a very good idea, one even her wolven side agreed with for the moment. Compromise was the best route to go when she was on the edge like this, and besides it would allow her to kick off her shorts and have access to her pockets to get out her pouch that Joe had given her that helped clear her mind and gain better control.
Somehow he read her mind and didn't argue bringing her down with him. He had some time before Brenda brought Molly back. Waking up this morning he never would have believed this would happen. "You have something in mind don't you." he asked licking his lips. James had dominated her a few minutes ago, time to let her make the moves.
Cait wasted no time explaining anything when it would be best explained with actions. Once he was on the ground she turned and straddled his chest, on her hands and knees above him she scooted back to present herself to him, in a way she was still being submissive by offering herself and keeping herself low to the ground. Also she didn't waste the gift offered to her either, he might be flaccid still but not for long. Thanks to Marcus she knew how to bring the desire into a man once again and she used her fingers and tongue to help build up the pleasurable pressure that would make blood once again surge to his member. She didn't mind her own taste on him, but she did quickly pull off the rubber, she didn't care about tasting his semen because from kissing if he had anything she would have gotten it, so no worries there plus most human STD's were incapable of becoming a problem for her. She with leisure and wicked delight she tortured his flesh into becoming hard and filled once again, moaning softly at the taste of him her wolven side knew he was definitely a good breeder.
James groaned as she began to work on him, the guys from his old unit would tell him not to let this one escape. Reaching up he parted her lips and began to lick her. She tasted as good as she looked; his other hand reached down and pinched her nipple. He knew how to perform on a woman Sandra had enjoyed his attempts. Her mouth was driving him crazy, and he hoped he was doing the same to her.
Cait shuddered as he licked her and manipulated her breast, she leaned back a little more, she wanted more she didn't want gentle and sweet. She was already very much so wet and was only continuing to be wet and her juices would've begun to slide down her legs if it weren't for James lapping them up. While it seemed she had more skill at what she was doing... because she did... she still enjoyed his touches very much. Once his cock started to harden she gave it special attention, licking the head and teasing the soft and sensitive part just under the head as well with her tongue. One hand was gently fondling his balls and the other hand was reaching for her shorts. She needed to get that pouch, as she got closer to climax she would want to top him and she couldn't let that happen.
When she moved back her got the subtle hint and located her clit and licked it roughly. Groaning as she continued to torture him, it had been sometime since this, the last woman hated giving head. After several more licks he took her little bundle of nerves into his mouth and began to suck on it. He began to roll her nipple between his thumb and fore finger. Cait was very wet and he savored her taste.
Cait moaned deeply, almost a growling like sound. She sucked harder on his cock stopping with the small teasing and just swallowing him down. She had a little trouble being out of practice for a while but... She took almost all of him into her mouth and sucked hard. Her hand palming his balls rubbing gently as well now. Her other hand pulling the pouch out of her shorts pocket. She would let him please her more and frenzy her a bit more before she took a deep whiff of the pouch to gain her control, but then she had to go. It was to dangerous to them both for her to stay.
Increasing the pressure on her clit he inserted a finger and stroked her 'G' spot. He was panting hard as she tried to swallow his member, god she was making him want to fuck her again. If this was going to be normal then he thought it would be best to buy by the case. James let go of her breast and began to rub her amazingly toned ass. The sucking led to some nibbles on her clit desperate to make her cum again.
Cait almost shouted in surprise at the intense pleasure rushing her towards her climax, he was very skilled and she had not expected it. She pulled the pouch near her face and took a deep breath, inhaling his musky scent and the scent of his seed were dull in comparison to the sudden scent of the pouch, Joe had never told Caitlin how he made these pouches or what were in them but it instantly let her gain control and with this control she felt safe again. Not worried about what her wolven self might have pushed her to do now that the pouch had regained her senses to the more human half of herself. With this she swallowed him down until her nose was almost against his balls. Rubbing her tongue over him and pulling slowly off letting her teeth ever so gently rake across the big vein on the underside of his cock. She would make him cum with her, if she had to employ every trick she knew.
