The “Kido Is Ayolos Is Zeus” Theory.

  by [smeet666]

The pros

But… Ayolos died!
Remember there was no witness when Ayolos escaped from the assaults of Shura. No one saw him die. And on top of that, “his corpse was never found”, we are told. So I deduce that Ayolos can be alive somehow.

But… Kido died!
We don’t really know how Kido disappeared, too. Did he die? I’m not sure. I think he didn’t want to meet Shun again. With his new great cosmo-energy, Shun was the once who could have jeopardized Zeus' plan.

Mitusmata Kido doesn’t really look like Ayolos...
Kido managed to dissimulate the Sagittarius and Athena clothes by changing its appearances. If he’s a God, it’s as easy as pie for him to change his own appearance.

Mitsumata Kido had a personal history. How could everyone ignore that he was a God?
Actually, a far as I’m concerned, I know nothing about his past. He has no known relatives (except Saori) and the history we’ve heard about starts when he “finds”” Ayolos and the baby. No witness, again…

So what?
Wounded to death, the God within Ayolos woke up. In the same way we can see Poseidon wake up when Julian Solo is seriously endangered by Seiya’s attacks. So Zeus had to activate intelligent means of defence in order not to be recognized as a God, and to construct his plan step by step. He flew to Japan, used his influence to become rich and famous, and gave birth to his descendants. We know what follows.

Plus...

 He’s the father of 100 young men with extraordinary powers. Is that realistic for a mere human? Was the genetic science so advanced in 1989?
 He’s able to send the Sagittarius cloth to help Seiya fight his opponents. Which other dead Saint can do the same? None. We never saw any clothes move by itself. Except the Odin’s cloth in the animated series... What if I say that Odin is a God?
 Kido is able to talk to his daughter Saori thanks to an AI-driven advice... Who can believe that? Just remember the action takes place in 1989. I’m a computer scientist, so I know that even nowadays no existent AI can be so sophisticated. And yet, they have coherent discussions. Of course, if Kido is a God, no other justification is needed.

Questions and answers

If this theory is true, why Zeus didn’t react earlier to Hades’ plans? What does he want at the end?
I don’t know. “God moves in mysterious ways”. Who knows? Maybe he plans on finding the ultimate warriors to fight by his side an unknown powerful opponent? and he first need to sacrifice “some” mere humans.
Maybe he plans to get back the possession of the earth, and he wants to weaken Athena’s saints first, using Poseidon and Hades.
It may look confuse, but what about Hades’ plan?

I already read theories on Ayolos being Zeus, or Kido being Zeus, but why both?
See above. The encounter between these two people seems unconvincing to me. If Kido is the God, what was he doing exactly at this time at the Sanctuary and why does the encounter seem like a coincidence? If Ayolos is the God, why did he entrust a stranger to the baby’s care, and vanished? He could have done it himself.

We can see sequences in the manga and the anime where Mitsumata Kido encounters Ayolos. Kurumada cannot back out now!
Well, we can’t say that we see this sequence literally. They are just representations of what people tell us. There is no omniscient narrator in Saint Seiya that describes this encounter as a fact.

Why don't we see Ayolos come back to life, or at least his spirit (as Shura's spirit supporting Shiryu)?
When Seiya first fights against Aiolia, the Sagittarius cloth appears from nowhere and protects him. In this sequence, we can see the face of Ayolos in the background. He's supporting Seiya, and it is the reason why Aiolia starts doubting at the Great Pope's real ambitions. I think he never appears again... but that only means everything is going as he planed, so he doesn't have to intervene, does he?

If Ayolos is a god, why the Great Pope gives a cloth to him? He should have felt his true power?
When Ayolos was a Saint, his true power was not revealed yet. Zeus was still sleeping. Remember when Athena first meets Julian Solo, she jus has an impression of déjà vu, nothing more. She’s unable to see the god within the young man, while she can sense the cosmo-energie of her own saints kilometres away.

The cons

In the manga, Kido is a father before he meets with Ayolos.
To be honest, I didn’t remember that. I’ll have to check, first. But the truth is it jeopardizes the theory. If someone can help me find an explanation, he’s welcome.

Since Ayolos was a Saint, he might have find himself in difficult situations before. Why Zeus didn’t awake then?
I dunno :( . Please help me find an answer! An easy one is to say he never found himself in a difficult situation.

2005-06-24 [Yoruno]: Interesting, I must confess... one of the main lost points in Ayoros life is why he never comes back to life (bronze saints do it all the time) and his spirit is never seen (gold saints are always there one way or the other)...

2005-06-24 [smeet666]: Mmmm. Well. Let's say that he's sleeping somewhere, waiting for something new that might concern him.

2005-06-24 [Yoruno]: Have you seen Saint Seiya Overture? There's a glimpse of Zeus in the very end...

2005-06-24 [smeet666]: (I added a question & answers section). Yes, I saw it. It's quite mysterious.I'm afraid that unfortunatlyKurumada isn't the one who wrote the synopsis of this ... thing. (By the way, is it Zeus or Apollon, I don't really remember?)

2005-06-24 [Yoruno]: It's Zeus as far as I know... he's the one that erases Seiya and Saori's memories. But as far as I know, Kurumada in fact had almost nothing to do with this last movie (very bad for me, at last).

2005-06-24 [smeet666]: I agree: it's annoying, confuse, and there's nearly no music at all : pleeeeeeeease, realease the Seiji Yokoyama's musics!

2005-06-29 [Yoruno]: Since Ayolos was a Saint, he might have find himself in difficult situations before. Why Zeus didn’t awake then? I think that every saint has been in a difficult situation, but using again Julian Solo, he only awoke fully when Seiya hitted him with the golden arrow. I think he needed a really hard situation to awake. A simple ennemy trespasing the sanctuary shouldn't have been enough.
