Norse God Baldr, who is a son of Odin and the Goddess Frigg, who gave us the word Friday (Friggs Day).
The story of Baldr is similar to that of Achilles. After a dream in which she foresees his death, Baldr's mother Frigg obtains promises from all objects on the earth to never harm her child, all but the mistletoe, which Frigg sees as inconsequential. In this way Baldr appears indestructible. In fact the gods start to spend their spare time hurling objects at Baldr for entertainment as he is impervious to harm. However, Loki (the mischief god) hearing that mistletoe did not swear an oath makes a spear (or arrow) from it and tricks Baldr's brother into throwing the spear at his brother, thus killing him. This action is said to bring about the chain of events that lead to the end of the world.

2009-11-17 [wicked fae mage]: I looked into it further and it was Ziu, also known as Tyr. He had an interaction with Fenris when he placed his hand on the wolf's mouth as a gesture of kindness and lost his hand.

I think the site mixed up the story of Fenris being restrained by the chains since Ziu was asked to take care of the wolf, put in charge on him in that sense
