Pegasus
by Steve Doyle
Winged horse with a bridle of gold
Favorite of Zeus
Keeper of the Thunderbolt.
Splendid stallion that Bellerophon rode
Against the Chimaera
In a timeless tale, a legend of old.
Alas, the unfortunate rider was thrown.
He angered the gods
Trying to fly to the Olympians' home.
The magnificent horse was placed in the skies
A Constellation
Among the stars he flies.
Still in the halls of Olympus
On a magic night
Can be heard the hooves of Pegasus.
