Project Oa: The Parting

The Oa used to be the most powerful species in the universe. Quick, agile and smart, the Oa were an ultimate species and had evolved over the centuries to concentrate their muscles, to be lithe and graceful and to have their enemies underestimate them in so much that the Oa would have the advantage. Skilled with many different weapons, capable of flying with more speed then many born as air dwellers and long claws imbedded within their finger tips, they were a predator race.

Anger and hatred fueled their desire to fight, the urge to draw blood. They destroyed the Persinian on the moon Saithsarda just because they felt that they needed someone, anyone to fight, anyone to kill. Eventually they turned on each other, killing each other with blood lust clouding their eyes, till only a few were left.

Rika, the legendary huntress of the Oa was jailed while they murdered each other and her two pupils, rare Oa twins escaped with their lives to Saithsarda where they found a ship and hid as refugees to leave the galaxy of Zerities.

At age thirteen, Todd and Naomi escaped the death of their species to face the rest of the universe's hatred. Oa naturally attracted violence and in less humanoid species they gave off the aura of wolves walking among sheep so they agreed to secrecy... and reluctantly they agreed to part.

Todd had it easier. Usually Oa are born with gray eyes that glow when angered but Todd was blessed with dark, oceanic eyes which let him blend in with most species. He chose to wear a red scarf around his face and a long dark gray cloak to hide his tail and wings. Just like his eyes were different then a normal Oa, Todd was always less of a blood thirsty Oa. He rejected the way of his species, instead of killing he wanted to protect. In the end he traveled to the demon infested systems where he aided those lost in any way he could. Both he and Naomi were trained in many different arts of war and weapons, the twins both chose twin modified pikes, though Todd's are covered in carvings, Naomi's are plain and unadorned.

Naomi is very much like their teacher: Rika is a relentless warrior, cast out for her less violent procedures but an Oa in everyway. Todd and Naomi both have dark brown hair, however, Naomi was born with the typical gray eyes that the Oa were known for. Though like Todd, who had been born with something altered, so was his sister. Naomi's crests, another pure Oa feature, are of pitch black feathers instead of white or silver. Instead of helping like her brother with the demonic problems she chose to travel and live on a planet under the haze of war. Banned from joining even the armies who needed warriors, she flits in and out of either side, killing anyone in the middle of the battle field then disappearing like a ghost. While her brother chose a red scarf, she chose blue, with the same gray cloak and black goggles to hide her eyes.

Every year on the eve of their species’ demise, Rika, Todd and Naomi meet in the mists of the past, cursed to watch as their race tears themselves apart again and again.
