2007-03-26 [Artsieladie]: Hi! Great! Good story. I especially like the stories such as this one, that make me look at myself more closely & remind me to be thankful for that which I have. :P

I wasn't sure, at first, whether to do this or not, but I know I get many e-mails that I always think would be great to share, besides just mailing them to those in my address book. Many have "send this to 5, 10, etc", but I hate chain letters, as well as all those addresses that it's been to previously. So, I just copy the main portion, omitting all that extra, unnecessary stuff, & paste it in a new e-mail & then send it. I'm thinking that I'll probably split this up by subject content. Like the informative e-mails, the funny ones, & so on. Otherwise, this page will become way too long. :)

2007-04-27 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Oh my gosh, I just read "How Could You?" and now I can't stop crying. My husband and I want a dog so badly, but our landlord doesn't allow pets...though he didn't know about our bunny when we had her! *sneaky* This story just makes me want a dog even more, no matter where he comes from or what "kind" he is. I would love a mutt just as much as a pure breed. Thank God for dogs. He knew how faithful they would be to us when He made canines.

2007-04-28 [Artsieladie]: Yeah, I get an occasional fun one to share. :D One of the biggest problems is this scenario. Not only do many landlords oppose renting allowing pets, but so often people that find a place to rent that allows pets, come to the day when they have to move for one reason or another, & then they can't find another place to live that does allow pets. Finding a place to rent that allows pets is very difficult. Landlords want to minimize their liabilities as well as possible damages, often due to ignorant people's irresponsibility in the past. Sometimes, I have known cases, though few, where, if the tenants are able &/or willing to put more down, the landlord will concede, but with additional provisions &/or stipulations. When it comes to purebreds or mutts, I prefer mixed breeds or mutts, actually. I can't remember my life w/o a pet, usually a few or many. Not only of my own, which were rescues, but many others while I looked for a new good home for them. Many, many times, it has been very hard to give them up to their new home, but I knew I could not keep them all.

I probably should have named the page "pets/animals", but I have a feeling this wiki will grow to be quite large, so as it grows, I'll add additional pages & with names more specific. I loved the video, in spite of having to wait over 2 hours for it to load. I usually don't click on any YouTubes, b/c of the lengthiness of time it takes to load & I can't do anything else online while it's doing so, but this one was surely worth the wait! Simply MAGNIFICENT! If anyone has ever doubted the beauty, the magnificence, the intelligence... (I could go on & on) ...of the horse, this should extinguish any such notion. Truly amazing! :D

2007-06-06 [Artsieladie]: Yup! The good ol' dial-up! Ugh! I love Dressage & hunter/jumping. I like the English style of riding, period. Has anyone ever seen the Great Lipizzans? They exhibit the highest level of Dressage. Awesome! :D

2007-06-06 [Dark Side of the Moon]: Lippazans are awesome! Did you know that the moves they are taught were actually used in battles? For example, the classic move where the horse rears up then leaps and kicks with his rear hooves - this maneuver was used for two reasons: 1. To unhorse an opponent charging from either side, and 2. To unhorse an opponent behind your horse. If charging from the side, the leaping horse's body acts as shield and knocks the rider off as he's galloping toward you. The kicking obviously will either knock off a rider that is behind you or seriously injure his horse. Either way, a brilliant maneuver.

2007-06-06 [Artsieladie]: There are several maneuvers of the haute école, the highest level of Dressage, really, & the oldest. There are: the Courbette, the Levade, the Capriole, the Piaffe between the pillars, & the Passage. They perform the flying change of leads, too, which is demonstrated in the video. The riders train on well schooled stallions with no reins or stirrups. As finished riders, they use no stirrups. I'm so glad that these horses & the Spanish Riding School in Vienna were saved. :D

2007-06-07 [Artsieladie]: They were in Albany. They were spectacular! I could care less about seeing most shows &/or exhibitions, but this was one of the exceptions. Everyone always asks me if I want to go see an entertainer, some show, or the like & I always say no, but horses are a different story! :)
