The Dangers of Being a Receptionist

1. As soon as you get into the bathroom at long last... the phone rings.

2. Sooner or later, someone will call and ask a question that you either don't understand or don't know the answer to.

3. 1 out of 5 times your phone call will be a wrong number, which you discover after rattling off a message.

4. 2 out of 5 times, you will leave a message with a child.

5. You will have to deal with people who are irate, demanding, and/or just plain stupid.

6. That cute guy/girl who comes in for something will make you forget what you were doing.

7. At least one person who comes in will be sick, and not too soon thereafter you will catch a cold or some other unpleasant illness.

8. Occasionally someone comes in at the wrong time and you have a sinking feeling that it’s your fault.

9. No one will ask you a question until you have just taken a drink.

10. You realize that you are afraid of the sound of a ringing phone.
