Telon Island

Beware as you tread the land, here lies the island of the Gods, home of the Caged Roc god.

Porter suddenly appeared in front of a huge castle. "It's nice to see the island is as gloomy as ever."

"It is the land of the gods, in this particular state i'm not surprised" Abarhi said casually, undaunted by the gloom.

"Pish posh. It's like this even when the gods are doing what they are suppost to be doing, the lazy bums that they are." Porter said as she crept towards the entrence to the castle. "Theres a pasage underneath the channel that were are going to have to swim through."

"Lead the way" he looked around.

Porter went around to the side and dove into the cannel. She swam under neath till she reached the other side, bringing her into the ccastle. When she walked out of the water she was completely dry. "I do love having water abilities."

Abarhi stepped out of the shadows "And i shadow abilities" he smiled.

"Come on oh arrogant one." Porter crept down a long hall way, but stopped when she heard voices.

"He'll Kill us if we leave our post." a man said, which replied by a woman. "Please the thing is locked up good and tight. Plus, even if they did get this far they'd have to go past the annoying fool."

"I'M NOT A FOOL!" A voice roared and echoed through the hallway.

Abarhi raised an eyebrow, phasing in an out of the shadows my my, some one is in a foul mood he said to Porter in referance to the voice.

"What ever, lets just get going." Porter heard them say and listen as they left. "Can you sheild two peoples' presence?" Porter asked Abarhi. "I'd like to get buy with out having to deal with whoever is in there."

Abarhi nodded "Hopefully whoever it is isn't a powerful telekenetic...they'll be able to see through it no matter how hard i try" he said.

"Well lets give it a shot." Porter started to creep forward in the shadows. She all ready know what was going to be in the room, but no reason to frighten the poor man off. She needed his help if she wanted to get through this with her goal intact.

Abarhi set the shroud about them as he lept deaftly from wall to wall, clinging to the shadows and remaining completely invisible.

Taking a beathe Porter took step by step in the room, trying to look inconspicuous. She didn't want the caged being to notice her. "What are you doing Porter?" An amused male voice said. She stood and turned to look at the man in a huge golden cage. "Did you honestly think that little bit of shadow magic was going to get past me." He snorted. "I created the damn magic." The man was tall, taller than anyone she'd ever seen before. He had long white, blonde hair with a lean, muscular body. However, the leery thing about the man was his eyes, they were pitch black with no white.

Abarhi looked at the caged man "Is this who i think it is?" he said, amazement playing across his features.

"It might be." Porter said. "Now Daniel you're not going to cause a scene now are you."

"And why shouldn't I? I've been locked in this stupid cage for months. I could use a bit of entertainment. It gets boring here." Porter sighed. "Well maybe if you hadn't ticked him off you wouldn't be in the position. You always were a pompous jerk." She retorted. "HOW DARE YOU!" He roared, making Porter wince. " You will treat me with respect."

"Well if he isn't then very close to it....might i add if you are who i think you are, i've met your son and i'm begining to see some similarities"

"Daniel your in acage, unable to excape I can treat you any way I like. Plus your supost to treat your elders with respect I'm way older than you." Prter said. "Now if you donlt mind please tell me were my Conch is. Now!"

"Why should I? You tricked me into this cage." His eyes narrowed at her. "I want out."

"I'm afraid I can;t help you there. I'd rather not have you kill thousands of people for your own selfish reasons. Now were is my Conch?" She said the last part with demand. "Abarhi would you please hand me one of your weapons."

He drew a jet black blade, handing it to Porter. His curiousity was piqued now.

"Now Daniel you know I have the power and ability to kill you so tell me were my cinch is." Porter threatened, twirling the weapon in her hands.

"It's in the stupid cage with me." He spat, as he showed it to her.

"Of course it would be." Porter sighed. "Well Abarhi looks as if this was a waste trip for now. Sadly we can;t go in there and get it since that would let him out."

The blade leapt from Porter's hands and into Abarhi's as if it had a mind of its' own "Well now, releasing you just yet then doesn't fit into the grander scheme of things....." he said softly "Well, i guess off to find another pillar...i here the lich and shade lords have a way though i doubt anyone would find that at all palatable"

Both the caged man and Porter broke out into laughter. "Abarhi, it's much simpler then that to replace a pillar. Only two three requirements are needed. Ones that now require, even if the god did get free, to find a new pillar. However, Us old one can not interfere. It's Roan's job now."

Abarhi smiled "I figured as much, but you must have known all this would happen anyways Porter, so now to the real reason why you have brought me here"

"I had hoped we could get the conch, but I also need your help in getting some of his blood. Of course that's with out setting him free." Porter said calmly, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.

"And what that might be for?" he said cautiously. He'd heard of rituals involving someones blood and why it would be needed. None of them where terribly appealing.

"I just need to test it against something." porter said vaguely.
she saw no reason to let him know what she was up to.

"and why should I let you take my blood?" Daniel said.

Abarhi laughed synically "You think i'm stupid? I know what uses a gods' blood could have Porter and i'm not terribly inclined to aid in it's happening unless i know what its' for....and before you lock my body up and try to force me, remember i can easily disembody my spirit and fight much better when doing so" he rested his hand now on the hilt of his blade. Distrust played in his eyes, and the waryness of a trained assasin was also plain as well.

"Your a prideful and stupid man, Abarhi. It'll cause your downfall someday, and take all you care for." Porter's patients were running quit thin. "I just need to compare his blood. You need no know more then that."

He smiled, one of the black swords leapt to her hand "They are a part of me in a way which is why i'm able to control them so" he said casually

"Great." She created a vile out of water. "I just need a few drops of blood, and that should do it."

"What makes you think I'm going to allow this." Daniel roared.

"Daniel Roc," Porter started with a stern tone. "You are mortal like the rest of us. The only reason you are able to live as long as you have is because of the powers of being the pillar. You can die so stop acting all high and mighty."

Abarhi gave a start "Porter we need to leave now there's an assasin coming. He doesn't know we are here yet so whatever you are doing finish it quickly" a sudden urgency played into his voice as he turned to Daniel "your captors are returning"

"Just cut him and get me the blood then we can leave." Porter said. "Plus I doubt Malik will hurt me." Porter said with a smile.

"He's not a servant of the gods like he pretends to be, he is a Solitair, though one of his own design meaning i wouldn't put it past him" Abarhi sent the sword through the cage bars and towards an arm.

Malek drew near to the island and he stopped "We have visitors" he said with a dark grin. A sudden flash of light around him revealed his full battle attire. A sleek helm that covered his entire head and face. His armor and weapons looked like they where made of jet black glass the way they gleemed in the fading clouded light "perhaps it was time i took up this form again" a chilling voice eminated, though it seemed like it leapt from a thousand different places.

Porter rolled her eyes. "Malik, stop with the dramatics. All I need is a bit or your father's blood then I'll go. However, he's being a bit difficult." She narrowed her eyes at the man in the cage. Suddenly an idea formed in Porter's head. "Actually would you like to help?"

Malek appeard in the room "I am no son of this fallen pillar, so no i will not help" his armor seemed do become a thousand different colors and yet none at once, even as his voice seemed to speak in a thousand riddles that had no answer.

Abarhi placed his hand on his Katana.

Snorting, Porter waved at Abarhi, "Don't antagonize him." She walked over to the cage. "You know I have met a nice girl who looks vaguely alike to Marissa. So if you don;t mind i need your blood so you will do this or I will tell your son your secret." She saw him pale drastically.

"Your lying." Daniel said. "No I'm not." Porter retorted, then he slowly stuck his wrist out. "She is dead, so I'll give you my blood just to prove you wrong."

"Abarhi if you would please."

He placed a dagger in her hand

Porter took the dagger and slices Daniel's wrist. "You can't hide everything Daniel, the truth always comes out. If Corus doesn't tell him about her Marik will find out anouther way." She sighed as she felt him tense. Slowly she took the vile and let his blood fill it. "If this girl is her daughter you do know what this could mean."

"She's not." Daniel said courtly. "I killed them both"

"You speaking of Talos? His bastard son?" Malik smiled "Oh i already know about him, as of yet i have no interest in dealing with him...some other time perhaps"

"No he's not." Porter said. she stepped back when she had all the blood she needed. "Have you ever wondered why Corus would lock him in here?" She sighed. "Part of me hope she is Marissa's daughter."

"Porter keep your trap shut." Daniel growled.

"Why? So you can hide her existence?" Porter looked at him in anger. "She was my friend, and you killed her because she didn't respect your wishes, and denied your relation to her. You damned yourself." With one last glare Porter took one last jab. "Some day your going to have to explain why you killed your daughter, and you'll hate yourself." With that Porter disappeared from the room in a whirlwind of water.

Abarhi turned to go, to much going on that didn't concern him.

Sage walked into the area, looking around.

Malik looked from Abarhi to sage, his eyes where a striking black color. He waited for Abarhi to make his move.

Abarhi noticed for the first time Malek, stopping as the shadowseer appeared to take on more than one form at once and yet none at all.

Sage stepped back, thinking that maybe he should just go back.

Malik appeared in front of Ketsuri, both his blades drawn. His entire body seemed to take a thousand different shapes and appear in multiple places at once.

Abarhi closed his eyes, calmly drawing his blades and matching each with his.

"Must we fight?" Sage said to them.

"Unfinished buisness" they both said at the same time.

Malik turned to Abarhi "When i cut you to peices i will enjoy butchering what's left of Turan and those at Deidad island"

Abarhi smiled "If you're still alive that is" their swords rang out over an over. Abarhi's eyes remained closed.

Sage pulled out a flute, placing it to his lips. "Stop this..." he said, preparing to play.

Malik was growing confused at how Abarhi was able to fight so well with his eyes closed. He drew three small daggers, each tipped in a poison and threw them at Abarhi.

Abarhi, his eyes still closed heard the daggers being thrown. He parried two, one clanged to the side off of his armor, the last one cut through the skin on the side of his face all the way up to his ear before clattering off him.

"That's enough Malik." Maddy said as she entered the room. "Abarhi would you please leave. You came to help Poeter, which means you were more dragged in blind. Plus, he shouldn't be here when Corus get's back."

Abarhi felt a dullness come into his senses as the eye next to cut glazed over. Sensing something amiss he vanished and left the island.

Malik smiled darkly "He won't be a bother for quite awhile now....don't worry he won't die...just get very very sick"

Maddy shook her head. "Malik why do you hate Turan ans Abarhi so much? I know that Corus is doing what he is doing because the bastard god killed his wife and child." She was surprised when the god didn't protest like usual.

"His family and mine used to be ruling clans in this kingdom, during the time frame in what the few elves who remember it call the rise of men, we split. We chose to fight the humans, Turan's family fought ours, saying it was the course of things to come....they where a family of seers. Long story short they led a short but brutal campaign that saw Turan living on Deidad island, my family whiped out, his dissapearing and the current state of events unfolding" Malik said mater of factly "Turan had little or no part in it....oh no...he was to happy with his family. I ended that though" he said even toned "Oddly...i regret it now.." genuine remorse came into his voice "But i swore an oath to my father when he died that i would carry on the war whenever i could. The humans are to superstitious to be allowed to rule Tyradias' kingdoms"

"I'm sorry for your lost." Maddy said. "I can;t say I know how you feel because I don't, but if you ever need to talk I'm here. No one can replace your family, but do you think it is wise for the destruction of those Turan cares for now?"

Malik, looking sorrowful removed an unearthly beautiful stone "By an art now long dead my family has managed to preserve their souls in these stones...this one belongs to the one i swore an oath to in order to avenge them...they died in a battle...every last one of them"

"Would those who you fought with, and cared about you want to move on and live life? Don;t they want their souls to move on?" Maddy asked.

Sage felt out of place, not knowing alot of what they were talking about. He moved over to the side, putting away his flute. He looked up at the man in the cage.

He went rigid and his eyes turned void black "No we do not rest until they have paid for the war they visited upon a peaceful island, and stealing it from its' rightful heirs" his voice sounded like that of many, before he returned to normal "The price i pay....in essance they sustain my life force, in repayment i carry out their one final wish"

Maddy sighed, "I hope you get your island back, but I hope most of all you can live a happy life. And Sage, The God wont speak to you or anyone. I'm surprise Porter got a peep out of him."

Malike looked thoughtful for a minute don't even think about it! a chorus of voices raged in his head. He laughed and what if i do? you'd be unbound and laid to rest...leaving me to roam freely... he turned to maddy "I'm not, she's old enough to where she'd have some sort of conection, not to mention the elder sirens tend to congregate near by"

Sage looked at Maddy. "I..I wasn't trying to...and that is the God?"

"Yes it is." Corus said walking into the room. "He btd though so i'd becarefull how close you get."

"I wasn't planning on doing that..." said Sage as he looked towards Corus. "So what's going to happen?"

"Well right now we're at a cross roads." Maddy said.

"A crossroads..." Sage repeated. "All are at crossroads at some point....but how is being here going to save us from this hunt on werecreatures...?"

"Depose the human king, there is more than enough strengh to do so" Malik said bluntly "Besides if we don't act now, what will happen when more than one king gets that nasty bug in his bonet? I'd hate to be around when that happened"

Sage looked at Malik. "If you did that....what of the royal family?"

Malik looked, for the first time, sympathetically at Sage "They are not responsible for the sins of their father and husband. Besides being put out of the palace, nothing. Even then though the new ruling body would most likely alow them to stay...i just want to end this genocide before it encompasses everything non-human. Forgive my calousness, but when it was only the vampires i chalked it up to someone feeding on the wrong human....now it's different"

Sage nodded. "But deposing of the king won't help what's already happened....what of the illness that has affectived many in that kingdom...and all of the other troubles in all the kingdoms...?"

"If we unseat him, then we can begin to rebuild what has been cast down. As to the disease, i don't know. If i had time to study it, and by time i mean at least a year, then perhaps i could find a remedy....not a permenant solution but something to slow it down or perhaps if i get lucky to stop it altogether. I know poisons are my specialty, but who said curing them isn't?"

"Then I have a quest for you Malik, if you're willing to take." Corus said. "But first I suggest we leave this room. WE don;t need to be over heard." Corus started down the hall way, bringing them to his study he keeps on the island.

"Corus what is it that ou have planned?" Maddy asked.

"If you are moving to unseat the were-hunts my dear friend you had better move fast" Malik said casualy.

"No, Richard has a grasp on his kind. What I want you to do if infiltrate the king's confidant. Get close to him and figure out what it is making him change his ruling principles. I want to know what is going on." Corus said.

"Considering i'd rather not off anyone or lock them away in a dark hole while trying to do so....how do i do that? He's bound to have a staff of advisors already....hmmm...i could get rid of his current advisor and masquerade as him...finally put these abilities to uses for other than my own" Malik said with a half smile.

Maddy had to sniffle a laugh. "That might be a problem since Corus is the advisor."

"No because he's my ticket in the front door" Malik said shaking his head

Sage just sat there listening to them, he just didn't want to die and he wanted to help his friend.

Corus sighed, "I'll let you pretend to be me. I have business here to deal with. The god and I have somethings to take care of."

"Very well" Malik nodded, heading off to the Griffon kingdom

"What do you want us to do?" Sage asked.

"I'll need something specific from you sage. How would you feel like being a spy?" Corus said. "And Malik I'd need you to leave right away."

"A spy?" Sage asked looking at him. "Why? Who would I be spying on?"

Malik cocked his head to one side at the mention of Sage being a spy "Very well....and just where am i to meet up with this king?"

"The king can be found in the palace. He never leaves any more. And as for you Sage, I'd like you to put yourself in Turan and Roan's paths. I want you to keep an eye out on them for me. Of course I'll need someone one to keep Abarhi occupied before he gets the chance to tell them about Roc's locations."

"Ha! have fun with that, Turan is so paranoid and suspicious i doubt he'd let you be in Roan's presence without breathing down your back...and Abarhi is out cold for a few days...i poisoned him"

"Sage will have an easier inn that you would. Also, Abarhi is out for now, but that's only for a few days. Sooner or later he will awake and then spill all that he knows. I'd like to prevent that for as long as possable." Corus said.

"What did you have in mind?"

Sage nodded. "Okay...but I don't know what Turan or Roan look like..."

Malik laughed "They are the only Elf male and Human female who you'll see consistently together...Turan is tall, she isn't....his skin is a near alabaster white, and he always looks in deep thought. Oh and if you want to find Roan, she's also the only Human you're likely to ever see trying to order around an Elf mage"

Maddy had to hid a smile behind her hand. "It is a nice to see that man be bossed around. The funny part is that he actually listens to her."

"He's got nothing better to do, though this king might very well give him that something...i doubt it though"

"Either way, Sage you'll do fine. Use either the girl or the vampire as your in. Malik, before you head to the king's side do something about Abarhi. AS for you Maddy We'll talk later." Corus said.

Sage nodded. "I'll try..."

"Turan will sooner see me dead then suffer me to enter that island home of his...i don't know how he does it but there's not getting close without him being accutely aware of your every move...not to mention the wood elves constantly report back to him"

"Ahhh, but that is the ingenious of it." Corus said. "This coming week is the Blue harvest moon, a moon that blocks out all powers, but the fey. This is why the queen of the fey holds an annual Harvest Moon Ball every two hundred years. The elves will be unable to report to Turan in time. Even if they did, he wouldn;t have the power to get back in time."

Malik looked hard at him "It will be done" he left in the direction of Deidad island

Sage looked at Maddy then at Corus. "I should be going then too...."

"I beleave the vampire is somewere with Gurthur." Corus said.

"A vampire?" Sage said. "So...are you saying the vampire or this Gurthar can get me into Turan's or Roan's paths....as a 'friend'.....?"

"yes." Cours said. "Nadya is a part of the little group they have formed, one which has great influence."

"O...kay..." Sage said unsure. "I'll just have to track her down then..."

"I think Gurthur said he was going to be in vine forest. I'd try there first." Maddy said with a kind smile for the fellow. "I have faith that you'll do fine. What did you want of me Corus?"

"To be my date for the ball." Corus said with a smile. He was one of the few who weren't going to lose his powers because his grandmother had been a fey.

Sage nodded. "I'll see what i can do..."\

"Good luck Sage." Maddy said then turned to Corus. "Now, you mentioned something about a date."

"If you hold on to me my dear. " when Maddy grabbed his arm he transported them in a flush of water to the ball.
