feel free to talk about what comes to mind. I have a specific topic that I'll post up here shortly, but otherwise chat an have fun. Please be respectful and mindful that many people share different veiws and while debate is fine, attacking is not. Discuss ideas not how wrong someone is for holding them please

Question 1: A Mosque at ground Zero; Where does love an acceptance become indignation and anger. How can we as believers find that middle ground?

Question 2: A pastor in Florida has a plan to burn Korans on 9-11. Do you think this is something Christians should participate in? Should something tried to be done about this?

2010-08-19 [*Phoenix*]: Hello. ^^

2010-08-19 [Talos Cyrion]: greetings :)

2010-08-19 [*Phoenix*]: (Question 1) I understand why people are so upset about the Mosque near Ground Zero, but I don't think it's that big of a deal, to me anyways. The building itself will also be used for other things, and we should be respectful if someone wants to voice their religion. Just because one Muslim is bad, doesn't make them all bad. I think that that's a big overview that America has fallen into: All Muslims = terrorists. It's not true though. Just like all Christians aren't gay haters.
I heard something about moving the building a block down; you can still see where the Two Towers were standing, but it's not right next to it. I think that would be the best middle ground possible. But at the same time we must remember to be peacemakers. We shouldn't be angry that they wanted to build a building. Frankly, it's just a building. There's nothing to get overly angry about. If it happens, it happens. So long as we fought in a peaceable way (for the building to be moved), all is good; if we get upset and lash out in anger; all is not good.

2010-08-19 [Talos Cyrion]: Agreed. A dear friend of mine [Anette] brought it up on facebook that we do need to be careful, because Muslims have as a result of radical followers of their faith, been harassed, and discriminated against. If they agree to move it a block down then good, that shows they are willing to bend, and if that decision is made i hope Americans can accept that as a reasonable compromise.

What i don't agree with though is that President Obama is openly supporting the original site next to ground zero.

2010-08-20 [*Phoenix*]: Exactly. I feel the same way about that. I do think there is a harsh discrimination against them (esp. from Americans) and it makes me want to not be part of it. It would be great, but I haven't heard anything about it here lately. I tend to tune out the news sometimes. >_< Esp if I'm drawing.

Hmm. I don't know enough about that to comment....

2010-08-21 [Talos Cyrion]: Ya he came out an publicly denounced opposition to their building it next to ground zero and openly welcomed and supported it.

2010-08-21 [*Phoenix*]: Hmmm.....I have a feeling his popularity is going to keep going down the toilet...

2010-08-21 [Talos Cyrion]: I didn't think it was possible but yeah apparently he has an approval rating equal to the lowest of president Jonston during the Vietnam war (at least i think it was Jonston..lol)

2010-08-21 [*Phoenix*]: Ya, I heard it's well below half..

2010-09-11 [*Phoenix*]: This whole war and Mosque problem is REALLY being escalated by a stinkin pastor in Florida......I'm really starting to not like him. Already there are people in the Middle East saying "Death to Christians!" It makes me so sad...

2010-09-11 [Talos Cyrion]: I don't agree with the pastor in Florida. I understand there are people who want more done, and who want to do something but this is not the way. It will only fuel the tensions and further divide an already badly divided America. Problem is that no one here in the states is willing to give ground on either side, and the Muslims are well within their own right to want to build places of worship.....my fear is that with this burning of the Koran it will cause a backlash that will lead to worse.

2010-09-12 [*Phoenix*]: My thoughts exactly. It's a grave situation. Makes me want to frown deeply like an anime character...

2010-09-12 [Talos Cyrion]: lol dito

2010-09-12 [*Phoenix*]: :( *frowning like an anime character*
