Introductions

My name is Kate, although I sometimes go by Katie or Katherine, and I have Borderline Personality Disorder. I want to put my life online, because I know how hard it is to cope with BPD, whether you have it yourself, or are living with someone who does. Some days I am good - very productive, and with limited emotional outbursts, and some days I wish I could crawl back into bed and stay there all day. This is my story.

I am 28 years old. I have a boyfriend, a husband I haven't quite gotten around to divorcing yet (the split was and is amicable, and the marriage was a contract), an 8 year old son, and a cat named Sora. I have been through a lot in my short life, including the process of diagnoses trial and error to find out that I have BPD, Auto-Immune Hemolytic Anemia, COPD (almost unheard of at my age), and an atrial septal heart defect, a four year long custody battle, and losing my Dad to a heart attack when I was 17. I have fought battles, losing a few and winning a few, and I've even won a war or two. I am proud ex Air Force, and the proud daughter of a Navy veteran. I'm also a proud student, attending online University to study Health Care Systems Management and Administration. I might change my major, though. I work as a clerical assistant in a law firm, and sideline as a proofreader/copy writer for a materials handling trade site.

In my spare time, I enjoy gaming, although the game I prefer depends upon who I am with. Right now, my boyfriend is playing Diablo 3, so I am as well. I have a level 60{8} Barbarian, a level 39 Monk, and a brand new level 5 Wizard. I like I like the Wizard best right now. I am very involved on Facebook, and in the various communities I am signed up on. Music is a passion of mine - one of the very few things I can say is truly *mine*. Reading is also a hobby that is truly mine. I tend to change hobbies based on who I am dating or hanging out with at the time. I have gone from travel, to golf, to LARP (Boffer and RP), to Warhammer figurines, to card games, to tabletop games, to video games on the PC, to console games. I'm sure there are more, but I don't remember them all. Right now I am trying to see if Photography is something I am good at, but I recognize that I would not be nearly as interested in it if I did not have three big photographers in my life.

So yeah. This blog will chronicle my life on a near daily basis. I'm not going to try to set a posting schedule, because pressures like that turn projects like this into a chore instead of a release. However, I encourage anyone who is touched by my stories, or just interested in my life, to please feel free to follow my blog. I welcome questions of all types as well - nothing is too personal, because sometimes people ask things I have never asked myself, and we all learn as a result.
