We will always be wrong, but if you assume this to be a natural state (even though not intentionally looked for) and combine it with your deep belief that we don't just happen to live by accident of nature (something very very very essential for our motivation to continue our lives in first place!), you'll actually gain strength, dynamics and motivation out of it. Instead of feeling ashamed, weakend and lost about the reasons of everyday life and the "thread" of change and alteration.

On decision making processes:

Those of you who are familiar with Game Theory might have heard about the concept of Nash Equilibriums. It's a theory that basically shows that the most rationally made decisions often considered as being "the best" do not necessarily lead to an optimal output and most certainly not to the optimal use of our resources!
We're humans damnit. We are capable of doing two steps in advance if that turns out to be more efficient! Relying on a constant (linear/arithmetic) development is for pussies and doesn't bring us anywhere when it comes to the handling of exponentially growing information/issues. Excuse my French.
Maybe some of you are familiar with the historic development of the game of Chess. There was a time when the queen was only allowed to make one step into a single direction. By then she was pretty much the weakest figure on the whole board.
Yet the final change to her recent day liberties (that is moving at an unrestricted rate) would ultimately turn her into the strongest figure instead. And even though I dislike metaphoric applications of chess examples onto real world issues (mainly because reality happens to be slightly more complex and less restricting) it still marks my point: Yes, people should try to make one step at a time so that they don't miss about something essential and possibly even track down information that would not have been gained otherwise. But under NO circumstance should we take this advice, turn it upside down and make it to some kind of fixed pseudo rule that prohibits the use of what our mutual intellects are actually made of.
Breaking out of this restrictive mindset where people are afraid to express their fears, hopes and dreams - where people are willing to say "yes, I might be wrong - but at least I tried something that you arrogant bastards considered as being impossible for all of us to happen!", that might as well be a single shot for us to survive. If it comes to the proclaimed clash of cultures. For then it is them who will become the modern queen... on the board of life.
It is only the proof that should be down to Earth - but your ideas need to fly. (And no, I was not high while writing these statements! But thanks for the allegoric thought! See, you do have a witted mind - now all you gotta do is use it for the better! :p)

To be continued...

One word about specialization.

I expect you all to know about our fellow historic polimaths: DaVinci, Goethe, et al. respectively.
Now. If I'm not mistaken then the last individual officially considered as being a Homo universalis was Alexander von Humboldt. So the last guy from whom it is assumed that he knew all of mankinds knowledge from all different scientific fields (back in those days) basically died 150 years ago. And I guess the set of knowledge didn't really decline over the time.
So what shall we do? Does that mean it would be a complete bogus/humbug attempt to pursue in becoming a "universal genius"? Are we supposed to dig our heads into the sand, hoping time and matter will simply pass us by as we reside in our miserable, self-pitying state?
Let me tell you something... all those geniuses had in common was that they didn't had to live in a time where it was considered as being "très très chic" to know about what Paris Hilton wore at a party two days ago. (Paris, if you read this - I still love you honey, so please don't take this personal).
The amount of misconceptions that we're being opposed to has almost reciprocal dimensions to the amount of things that we happen to know for sure. Dude - no wonder we're lost.
It's like the concept of society was being erected by a three year old! Way to go! I'll meet you guys when the tanker has wrecked.
No seriosly. As much as I like Goethe - he'd be as much puzzled as we are. And that's not only thanks to the extent what people have made out of his name. Cause if there is one single lesson that should have been learned from this guy, I bet my not existing chest hair, it'd be never to stop looking - taking all means necessary. And most importantly, using everything we've got.

I have been approached by engineers who claim that it is not within their/our responsibility to think about global issues. Actually, they said it would even be harmful to do because we're having so freaking many people already who do nothing but thinking instead of being productive. And I kind of see their point.
But omfg, what a squaring of the circle! The whole REASON why we happen to be thinking is because of the constant historical lack of foresight in first place. The mess is already there, and I'm unwilling to ignore it any further. If the world kills us before we spot a way out - then I guess it was about time.

Many scientists (including close friends, relatives and even my own parents) hope to lift all of humanity's issues by pursueing into advanced technologies. They expect everything to be fine once we figured out a way to get this fusion reactor running or once we managed this warp field device (no kidding) to work. But I somehow cannot get rid of this picture displaying a desperate kid, thinking it will surely get out of this maze if only continuing to head forward. So yeah - we eat more and live longer than we did 300 years ago. And we acquired the means to blast us all into oblivion. Great achievements by the way. But is that all that we got? I mean, it would have been quite the f*cking waste of time if we didn't gain something out of the past centuries of constant repressions, mixed with a nicely flavored revolution every now and then only to return to a more modern form of repression. Again - très très chic.
So sure... I'm absolutely convinced that the sociologist that are in charge and responsible to figure out what's wrong in and with our communities have a clue about what's going on and the power to do what it takes to fundamentaly improve our situation/future (as they happen to be funded so extremely generously). And the politicians surely know about those conclusions and are just too shy and humble to tell us all about it. Man - I hate to be cynical, but I suppose that's just their regular valiant nature! Now, I don't wanna become overly suspicious and dig into certain circulating conspiracy theories. But our society being based on the directive to save profit and posessions plus inherit from generation to generation is kind of tempting towards an old school like attitude on how to share the golden cake.

Okay, any conclusions to be drawn out of this?

a) There might be many onto something as vague as "world improvement", but in the end it will always take people with global understanding, gratitude torwards the diverse and a general foresight to actually make a severe difference from what we have learned to know so far.

b) It is your _PERSONAL_ responsibility to educate yourself and the one surrounding you for we will as sure as hell (or maybe not, since we/I don't really believe in that ^^) need every single wo(man) to support our desires. I'm not up for a physical over-throw, but for a revolution of the minds.
As Victor Hugo once said, they might resist the invasions of thousand of armies, but they won't resist the invasion of an idea whose time has come.
So spread the word. Make people think and ponder till the shit smoulders out of their ears. Make people listen. Make this time apparent.

c) Expect to be wrong. Expect to know nothing as you should expect the others to know nothing. Be critical but not desperate. It is neither their nor your fault and has never been. Even the guy that has lost his mind and went berserk, lost it over something that could have been prevented in first place. Try to be forgiving.

d) Circumstances define the outcome of any conflict. Albeit of physical or mental nature. Trying to take the circumstances into account is the only way to overcome this paradox issue. Everything else will be nothing but rolling the dice. While rolling the dice has far better odds (1/6 with a regular hexahedron).

e) Never give up. There's always a lesson to be learned out of any experience. Some of them might be redundant but they should only remind you of what happens if you stop influencing your environment. It's all about the right motivation (and study technique respectively)

and f like finally) Expect bad things to happen. We barely know anything from this world even though we've been a living and supposedly even thinking species for millions of years. And honestly, I don't believe we ever will. But what I believe is that we're not here by plain accident of nature. (And even if we were, then it would still be due to proof, hence this procedure would take its (reasons') place.) In other words - every life is meaningful. It's only about what we do with, and learn out of it. And trust me, EVERYBODY is capable to do great things. The guy that states differently is only afraid his subject of interest could accomplish this sooner then he is being allowed to. (If his ignorance permits it at all!)

These pages are still under construction... upcoming subjects that are still due to procedure include issues of how to strive for universal education instead of a specific one only (in that matter: find out about Robert A. Heinlein (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Robert_A._Heinlein)... "Specialization is for insects."), plus decision making processes, plus recent day circumstances (from a semi-outsiders point of view) and anything else that will pop up in my mind or that is being mentioned by anyone of you responsable readers to be included.

2006-01-16 [w00kie:)]: Second page of the Universalitarian movement! :p

2006-01-17 [3 Dreizig]: Yay finally ^^

2006-01-17 [w00kie:)]: Yeahuh... took me a while, didn't it? ;) This stupid thing about crazy ideas is that they don't always appear when I want them to. And once they do it isn't always what I've been looking for. But hey, that's life. Plus... I'm kinda contended with this new 'Game Theory' related turn I have taken. I will get deeper into this context when I find a calm minute. And I'm positive that this won't take me as long as it did the last time ^^

2006-01-17 [3 Dreizig]: Haha awesome ^^

2006-01-18 [w00kie:)]: ha... productive night (more like 2 hours actually) :) Now... lets see whether future nights will be worth their promise.

2006-01-19 [3 Dreizig]: Haha indeed ^^

2007-05-11 [Cascading water lillies]: I like this Universalitarian concept very much so! *eyes shine*..

2007-07-11 [3 Dreizig]: It is a very interesting process of thought, isn't it?
