1. The Ash

And the wind rustles the leaves
we look through,
the sun dappling our flesh.
In this realm, this land,
this wood we call home -
love we found hundreds of years before.
Our initials carved
deep in the bark
all that time ago
remain.
Time has darkened the marks
in the tree
in our hearts
but still
remain.
