Viking's Reading List 2011

Being a list of books that [Viking] is planning to read, is reading, and/or has read in the year 2011 CE.

I rather enjoyed keeping track of my reading goal and progress in 2010, so I'm going to do it again for 2011. Last year my goal was 52 books - one per week. I only made it to 39. I still have the same goal this year and hopefully I'll make it. Or at the very least, get closer to 52. My other goal is to write reviews for all of the books. And to write good reviews, because I know some (most? all?) of them I wrote last year were quite poor.

Currently Reading

The Night Eternal by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan

Bourbon for Breakfast: Living Outside the Statist Quo by Jeffrey Tucker

2011-01-17 [All_Most PUNK]: You finally started with the Black Company books?

2011-01-17 [Viking]: Yeah, started late last year. They're really good, so thanks for recommending them! I've got 3 or 4 more waiting for me after Shadow Games.

2011-01-18 [All_Most PUNK]: I have one more, but I lack a whole series in the middle. I mean, I finished The White Rose and the next one I have is Bleak Seasons.

2011-01-23 [Viking]: I was going to read the Girl Genius book, but after Shadow Games I had to continue with the Black Company stuff.

2011-01-23 [Viking]: Ah, I think Bleak Seasons comes after Dreams of Steel.

I have three volumes:
Chronicles of the Black Company (The Black Company, Shadows Linger, The White Rose)
The Books of the South (Shadow Games, Dreams of Steel, The Silver Spike)
The Return of the Black Company (Bleak Seasons, She Is the Darkness)

I'm just about to order The Many Deaths of the Black Company that has Water Sleeps and Soldiers Live.

2011-01-23 [All_Most PUNK]: I will probably see if I can find them online.

2011-01-23 [Viking]: Just looked. There are a couple torrents on TPB:
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/4336878/Glen_Cook_Collection
http://thepiratebay.org/torrent/5940370/Glen_Cook_PDFs

They look like they've got some seeds, but TPB can sometimes be wildly inaccurate on those numbers.

2011-04-02 [All_Most PUNK]: I do think I had downloaded them before, though.

2011-10-30 [Imperator]: My dear [Viking], I'd like to give you a hug since you know the Mises Institute... *hug*

2011-10-31 [Viking]: I'm a big fan of anarch-capitalism.

2011-11-01 [Imperator]: I recently purchased Rothbard's books on the subject. For a New Liberty!
