Its sad that they arwe trying to ban dogs.. i live in Tampa Florida and i Have a pit bull and a lab/pit mix. I work at an animal clinic. And this is sad.. My pit bull is a rock head. Hes so adorable and sweet.. He loves to climb trees! hehe and my lab pit is such a sweet little girl.. ugh i dont wanna have to get rid of them

2007-04-19 [Crimson]: Technically you can get into the crap that "technically, there is no BREED called a pit bull"...a "pit bull" is a type of dog...one used to fight in pits...against dogs, bulls, bears, and other animals. (Sorry, I just helped a friend of mine help get an apartment where they tried to say she couldn't have her pit.) Seeing as "American Staffordshire Terriers" and the other "pit BREEDS" weren't listed...only "pit bull"...but no "pit bull-type dogs"...She got to keep her dog...by saying he was an Am Staff...w00t.

Thankfully here we just passed NON-BSL legislation...but they're already trying to push for a ban on pits and pit-mixes in the county. -.-;
We already have to pay $150 a year to lisence and register them. (Only "legal" way to have a pit bull...yet they don't enforce it.)

2007-04-19 [Archeress of Mirkwood]: *Grumbles* Yea, the legalities of a so-call "pit Bull" is a loop hole to get through as far as something simple like getting into an appt building, but when it comes to the law... they are more specific. Yet... they still can't specify what dogs are pit mixes, because it's hard enough for a trained professional to determine what types of dog are in a mutt, let alone tell if it's a "pit bull"
