Participating in class counts in with the grades for the different subjects here O.o
But we have behaviour grades too; if you don't do your homework, they will put down both the subject grade AND the behaviour grade DX If you don't follow school rules (as in, being late, staying inside during lunch/pauses, forgetting things, being especially rude to teachers) they put down the behaviour grades... and if the grade gets too low, they contact the parents. Low grades also makes it a lot harder to get a job, because people will think you're a slob DX lolz
