This was a poem I wrote for a class I took, its meant to be read out loud, its based around Native American culture:

        Crying For A Dream
Give us a dream
Great Spirit
Give us a vision
That will save the people

Give us a vision that will bring back the buffalo herds

that will restore the great nations
of the Cheyenne
the Sioux
the Choctaw
Give us a vision
that will awaken the warriors of old

that will summon the
Thunderbird
and Vuffalo Woman
Turquoise Boy
and Anansi
Give us a dream
Great Spirit
Give us a vision
that will beat the
drum of a new age
where the dancers can dance
without the worry of the whites
and the people can ride free
without the worry of fences
and all the land is sacred
