The population of Earth had been at a boom since the mid seventies, but now it was becoming hazardous for the human race. Shelter was scarce and food was even harder to find.
Even though numerous wars broke out, this still didn't dwindle the numbers of citizens on Earth. Before the 'one child per two couples' bill was passed, deep space travel was becoming popular. This allowed for bigger, more causality filled wars for the human race. Though this was before the colonies were created between the civilizations. Many aliens have already lived on Earth with the normal humans(if normal could be used to describe them- the level of technology had advanced so far it presented humans with a choice to become stronger, smarter or faster through mechanical engineering).
In short: Every different kind of creature escaped with the ships, aliens of all kinds and humans...mechanoid or not.
