Fossil Bones...
We can climb the highest mountain, leave trails on the largest sea.
Scan the heavens with our telescopes, but I'm afraid we still don't see
That tomorrows already dawning, a day of sun or rain.
Depending on our outlook, World Peace or Selfish Gain.
The stars will still be out there, spinning slowly as they go.
Will we be here to watch them, or will the Earth just glow.
From the poisons we have buried, undersea, and on the land.
Our leaders blatantly ignore their people's plain demand.
Perhaps upon a distant day, an Alien will call.
Bright and shiny space-suit, his ship a glowing ball.
He'll look around to greet us, I hope he'll understand.
That the fossil bones beneath him, should bear the title:
'MAN'
