You cannot own the Mountains...
You cannot own the mountains, no matter how you try.
Your Grandsire before you grew old and had to die.
This is the way of life my friend, as was and so will be
You cannot take it with you, and nothing comes for free.
Men live their lives so fleeting fast, we Dwarves are here to stay
Solid granite, standing proud, suffers no decay.
Puny men, their little marks just scratched into the ground,
Wind and weather wear them off, no longer to be found.
The richest man in all the world, dies penniless, is gone.
The poorest dwarf has more to lose, when all is said and done.
And towering above us all, the mountains simply stand.
Our monuments will still remain, when we've seen the end of man.
You cannot own the mountains, no matter how you try.
Your Grandfather before you grew old and had to die.
This is the way of life my friend, as was and so will be
You cannot take it with you, and nothing comes for free.
We live our fleeting lives so fast, so quickly fade away
Solid granite, standing proud, is tough enough to stay.
And though we leave our little marks dug deep into the ground,
Wind and weather wear them off, no longer to be found.
The richest man in all the world, dies penniless, is gone.
The poorest man has less to lose, when all is said and done.
And towering up above us all, the mountains simply stand.
Certainly they will remain, when we've seen the end of man.
