2006-02-11 [NightTheOwl]: Ahh.. yes the phoenix, I just love the phoenix and none shall ever have as much skill of having one than me lol jk.
2007-12-12 [The Red Baron]: The Phoenix, hence its name, is a bird whose mythological origin came from Phoenicia, ancient Lebanon, my homeland, so to speak.
It is a symbol of the indomitable spirit of the Phoenicians (and to this very day, the Lebanese), who are among the greatest people of the ancient world.
Phoenicians were pioneers of seafaring, they DISCOVERED alphabet, they were the first to extract purple and orange from the Murex shells (which was worn by the Roman aristocracy and high clergy), and the Cedars of Phoenicia were used to build sarcophagi and funeral boats for Pharaohs. Further more, the Phoenicians built Carthage and Hannibal Burqa (not Lecter, the definitive Hannibal) is of Phoenician origin.
I am proud to say that I am of Phoenician heritage.
Oh, and people, it's Phoenix, with an "o" preceding the "e".
2007-12-12 [The Red Baron]: Can the wiki name be changed to one with the correct spelling please?
2007-12-14 [Artsieladie]: There's a teensy-tinsy problem. The contents of this page should be on the actual page, "Phoenix" (with the correct spelling) - Phoenix, but that page has some sort of rpg-ing going on, BUT NOT CURRENTLY ACTIVE. Let me see what can be done about this, b/c I agree with you, [The Red Baron], the page that features the Phoenix should most definitely be spelled correctly. ;-O
