The featured story for 31st July 2011 is brought to you by [Barock] (author & nominator).
"Elsbeth rocked gently on her heels as the yellow sun set, humming her soft, soft song. Alone by foxgloves and dandelion stalks naked from the days wind."
A very nicely done prose by [Barock] who uses a wonderful balance of peace and dread. This feature is one I'm sure you'll love to read again and again.

"With one candle lit, I paced about my bedroom, trying to remember why I seemed so odd. It was as if something I had once dreamt had suddenly come back to haunt me."
[Madame Black] has, in this short piece, managed to quite well imitate the Gothic style. It's definitely worth the few minutes it'll take of your time. Prepare for a read full of mood.

The featured story for 15th June 2011 is brought to you by [Tekkon KinKreet] (author & nominator).
"He wondered, briefly, why he had always treasured the glare of the sun. Why he didn't instead embrace the coolness and simplicity of the dark. It was easily manageable, much more so than light."
This little story is an intriguing look inside the head of a character dwelling in misery. The resolution is left for the reader, and personally, I like it that way.

The featured story for 3rd June 2011 is brought to you by [Roma] (author & nominator).
"There had never been anything particularly special about Gretchen Waverly."
This little slice of Americana touched very well on atmosphere of a simple bus ride home. I loved how it seemed that each word was chosen just right so that the reader got more than enough information in just a few sweet paragraphs.
