Alright, I've been asked this question a few times, so I thought I'd answer it for everyone at once: Girlkarma-- what
does it mean?
No, I'm not a Buddhist, though their philosophies are quite interesting. I made up this name a LOOONG time ago, on the brink of pubescence, when I'd first heard of the idea of karma. You know, what you do to others will always end up coming back to you, good or ill, to paraphrase terribly? While I pondered this, I thought to myself, "Well, you know, I'm not perfect. I can be mean; catty; vindictive when pushed. I'm bound to have bad karma." Then, I had a thought that made me giggle a bit: "No, it won't be bad karma. It'll just be
girl karma." It stuck, I suppose. Anyway, onto a very slimmed down explanation of myself:
A starving actress gettin' her feet wet; learning and honing my craft, attempting to make a living doing what I love, and
someday starting a family.
Here are some theatre shots:
Ah, Wilderness at OST. Scolding my best friend for scolding me about my alcoholic, destructive lover...ah, the 1900s...
Theme shot from Extremities. My most rewarding and difficult show. I promise the knife is dull...but I did tie him up and do that to his face with insect repellent. An amazingly raw piece. A must-read.
The most warped version of Taming of the Shrew I've ever seen, let alone been apart of. It's hip-hop...we're just about to do our kick in the mirror. :)
It's not a necessity, but if I can't understand what the hell you are saying when you message me, then we can't rightly carry on a conversation, now can we? :)
It's true--Google is my end-all, be-all of information...
I love RPGs (video games, D20's, and LARPs), fantasy genre books, and anything that will plop me into a far-gone era for a couple of hours (short of acid or 'shrooms or something :).
"You may say I'm a dreamer,
But I'm not the only one.
I hope that some day you will join us,
And the whole world will live as one."
-John Lennon

I got lucky, learning that bit. :)
My passions are acting, writing fiction novels and plays (I finally finished a few 10 minute pieces! I'm hopefully submitting to WordBridge at the end of the month), dancing, singing, among a many, varied other things, like making ridiculous faces to make others laugh or to inadvertently scare myself (funny story, actually...)
I'm usually willing to talk with anyone--if you actually have something to say. I love involved conversation on just about anything: politics, philosophy, movies, books (I love a good classic), why the Greeks are better than the Romans (discussed at your own risk :), and (obviously) the fantasy and sci-fi genres as a whole.
"I love life! Life loves me...sometimes!" -Me. :)
So, I'm a chick gamer. You know you like it. :)
My Philosophy of Life: Take Notes :)
"I'm an idealist. I don't know where I'm going, but I'm on my way." -Carl Sandberg
"Among those whom I like or admire, I can find no common denominator, but among those whom I love, I can: all of them make me laugh." -W.H. Auden
"Observation is the key to understanding. Participation is the key to fufillment." -Charles Friedman
"God is a comedian playing to an audience that is afraid to laugh." -Voltaire
"The clothes make the man--naked people have little or no influence in society." -Mark Twain. :)
