Description:
I am a student at the University of Stirling, studying English and Creative Writing. The University itself looks like a set from the Lord of the Rings - I like to pretend I'm walking around the lake of Moria when I walk past the loch on my way to lectures in the morning. Coupled with the occassional sighting of the Historical Reenactment Society (of which I am a member) rushing each other with roundshields, axes and longspears in the windy meadows just north of the Wallace Monument (for the record I like the film, but despise Gibson)and, I believe, you have the setting for some epic fantasy film. Or a poorly shot student project, whichever.
My time is spent split between the inevitable lectures on Chaucer, Milton or Shakespeare, hitting people with swords, playing video games (I am currently murdering my way through Rennaissance Italy in Assassin's Creed II), headbanging and moshing at concerts and rock nights, attending the Universitiy Pagan Society (I am the token Atheist of the community)and reading. My favourite author is Tolkien, what a suprise, but I am also fond of writers such as Trudi Canavan, Raymond E. Feist, Terry Pratchett and Garth Nix.
As far as films go, anything that has people with pointy ears or men with big sticks shooting fire and riding dragons is for me, as well as anything that has armies in hilarious plastic suits fighting robed people with pointy glowing swords and a natural affinity to a weird energy field that "binds, surround and penetrates every living thing".
And I don't care what anyone says, the newest Star Trek film was awesome!
