Description:

Greetings, I am Aconitum.

At at the current moment, I am a first year student at a Canadian university. I initially intended to study in the area of social sciences, but, due to a series of introspections, I'm now seriously considering a degree in the fine arts. My time in the formal education system has had two major effects upon my life: my sleep schedule has been run through a meat grinder multiple times and my addiction to caffeine has increased by a startling degree. I suppose I should be thankful that we're no longer openly including cocaine and strychnine in our health tonics (though I actually haven't checked the labels of many energy drinks lately, so I could be mistaken.)

I'm a being completely absorbed in fantasy, and I seem to spend most of my time in university attempting to forget that I'm in university. There are a variety of ways to accomplish this, it turns out. Personally, I think that getting hyped up on expresso and running around in circles until I collapse onto a random passerby is the most amusing. However, I tend to spend most of my free time (and time better spent working) drawing, writing, reading, daydreaming, roleplaying, drinking tea and coffee until I fall over twitching, playing video games, and watching anime.

My style of artwork is primarily anime/manga, though I have been known to deviate for the sake of experimentation. My favorite artists include Yoshitaka Amano, Kaori Yuki, Ashley Wood, and Hieronymus Bosch. Most of my latest drawings have been concept sketches for a prospective webcomic and doodles of the characters that I roleplay.

I've done text based roleplays in the past, but I haven't participated in one for quite some time. All of my recent roleplaying has actually taken place over a tabletop setting, as I was recently introduced to Dungeons and Dragons (3.5) by [Azrius], a good friend of mine (and also my DM.) It's been one of my strongest muses ever since then, considering that the party of our main campaign is a group of unqualified and eccentric individuals who only barely manage to avoid death and spend most of their "epic quest" either squabbling or playing tricks upon each other. When a party consisting of an ill-fortuned actor, a nymphomaniac paladin, a time-traveler with chronological dyslexia, two of copper dragon blood who live purely for their own amusement, and an obese cat-elf (who speaks what can be best described as "broken common") accompanied by an interpreting druid manage to save Delm, I'll be certain to make a triumphant post in my diary.

Hobbies of Mine
(Things I will be sure to converse with you about.)

A major hobby of mine is playing video games. I play a wide variety, but I actively collect survival horror and horror themed games. My collection ranges from point and click chase games for the playstation to the latest Resident Evil and Silent Hill titles. I play horror games of all kinds, good and bad. And when I say "bad", I mean "bad ranging from the hilarity of 'D' to the God-awful battle system of Rule of Rose." I will collect and play each horror game in existence, no matter how much it hurts.

I'm no expert on music, but that doesn't stop me from enjoying it. I listen to a wide variety of music, but I'm an especially avid fan of visual-type music. They have both visual (obviously) and auditory appeal, which pleases me to no end. My current favorite artists include Versailles, Kaya, GPKism, and Seileen. On the note of visual-kei music, I should probably also note my penchant for both gothic and Japanese street fashion. Normal styles of dress tend to bore me, while unique and/or frilly things excite me.

I have a horrible obsession with English tea and all that's related to English tea. If you share this quirk, you know what I speak of... I need not explain further.

I also seem to have great interest in anything exceptionally morbid and anything exceptionally cute and innocent. I'm not certain why, but that's the way my mind developed, so there's not much changing it.

If you find me interesting, feel free to talk to me, I'm always happy to make new acquaintances.
