For the naphthaline river Of Passion accurst: -- I have drank of a water That quenches all thirst: --
*cough* John 4:13-14 *cough*
Though I've not a clue if this is what Poe had in mind, it is what entered mine. It is probably so far off that I should be embarrassed, but fortunately I remain oblivious to this day.
I note that I was planning to put something decent here, but, surprise, that never happened! I might as well update it a bit though.
Short about my present:
I am working as a security guard after finishing a bachelor in theology and mission here in Oslo. After I finally started learning an instrument, I subsequently realized that what I'm actually learning is how to practice. Also, not having the discipline to practice sucks. I'm trying not to whine about it though. People would say that I am failing horribly, but they lie! *cough*
The instrument I wanted to learn the most, was the harp, (ze concert-harp preferably), but it is ridicilously expensive. I'm still dying to, but the more I get to know the piano, the less sure I am that I would have picked differently if I could.
Buying a tablet caused me to start practice drawing, as was the intent (or desperate hope, take your pick) but not enough (shock!). Still, it was surprising how much I improved when I started reading books and got a professional artist to give me advice (really lucked out there). He was willing to quickly draw over my drawing, and by copying his improvements I made more progress in less time than I would have dared to hope. Still, in the end, I was foiled by my complete lack of ability to keep practicing. It would be the understatement of the century to say that I'm not good at effort. >.< I am stubborn (or desperate) however, so years of failure to pick up the stylus again will not dissuade me! One day...
Quotes to present me:
(I like quotes, especially quotes I identify with. Go figure! I've yet to find quotes that top these three on that account.)
“I believe in Christianity as I believe that the sun has risen: not only because I see it, but because by it I see everything else.”
CS. Lewis
"Women are the loveliest and brightest of God's creation, but thank you Lord, that you made me a man."
"They say that you are put on earth to accomplish a certain amount of things. Right now I'm so far behind.... I'll never die...."
Lyrics that hit too close to home:

Title: Think Too Much (A)
They say that the left side of the brain
Controls the right
They say that the right side
Has to work hard all night
Maybe I think too much for my own good
Some people say so
Other people say no no
The fact is
You don't think as much as you could
hmmm
I had a childhood that was mercifully brief
I grew up in a state of disbelief
I started to think too much
When I was twelve going on thirteen
Me and the girls from St. Augustine
Up in the mezzanine
Thinking about God
Maybe I think too much
Maybe I think too much
Maybe I think too much
Maybe I think too much
Have you ever experienced a period of grace
When your brain just takes a seat behind your face
And the world begins The Elephant Dance
Everything's funny
Everyone's sunny
You take out your money
And walk down the road
That leads me to the girl I love
The girl I'm always thinking of
But maybe I think too much
And I ought to just hold her
Stop trying to mold her
Maybe blindfold her
And take her away
Maybe I think too much
Maybe I think too much
Maybe I think too much
Maybe I think too much
