It's not crooked, I swear. It's just really really hard to take pictures of your own hip. >_<

Description:
if you want, you can see some more pictures of me (though most are pretty old, 9-6 mos or so) here - sapphiresphinx - pictures.

56.2340345% of teens actually enjoy the completely retarded forwards/reposts that involve a made-up statistic about how many teens drink or party or smoke pot or will stand up for god and how you should pass it on if you're one of the minority. The rest honestly don't give a rat's ass. Hey, maybe the reason they won't stand up for god is because they aren't Christian. So screw off.

Most recent political compass(http://www.politicalcompass.org/) score(11/7/05):

Economic Left/Right: -4.13
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -4.82

Over by Gandhi, Nelson Mandella, and the Dalai Lama. Closest to anarchy. Surprised?

Yeah me neither.

likes: crocheting(no crocheting on the interests lists? wtf is that?), knitting, sewing, music, reading(sci-fi and fantasy mostly), art, Wonderfalls(before they cancelled it), Serenity, Firefly, Dead Like Me, talking, shopping, ancient Egypt, Calvin and Hobbes(best comic ever!), video games(esp. Chrono Cross)

dislikes: bigots, people who try to force their beliefs/whatever on others (although I guess that goes hand in hand with bigots), the president, my hometown, patronizing twits, netspeak("lyke" is not a word, dammit)...etc...

oh. and being called "hun" or "doll" or "sweetheart" or "babe"(especially babe), by people who do not know me well. Yes, I am tiny and arguably cute, get over it. This does not mean you can call me all sorts of weird pet names when you don't even know me.

my pride:

Kemetic Pagans

What a friend said, for these, about me:

1. Comment and I will reply with something I really like about you.
2. I will then tell what song[s] remind me of you.
3. Next, I will tell you who you remind me of, celebrity/animated or otherwise.
4. Last, I will try to name a single word that best describes you.

Michelle:

1. You're a strong enough person to hold onto your beliefs when most of the people around you are swimming in the opposite direction. I tease you because our belief systems tend to be polor opposites, but I do admire that about you.

2. Propagandhi, "This Might Be Satire"--I haven't listened to it but the title/band looks like you--and that "Headstrong" song

3. Gandhi. "Someday you're going to get fed up with all of the morons at school picking on you, come back to school the next day and... stage a nonviolent protest."

4. Left.

[Music/Art]

music and art are big things for me. I'm not hugely talented at either, but I still love to listen to/look at both. (and draw/play) And mostly, my preferred art-form now is with wearable art - clothing, purses, etc. You can see some at http://mishee.etsy.com (and I'm working on a deviantart site for it). I'm like a one person sweatshop, except the stuff I make is better. :)

I'll listen to most anything(so long as it's GOOD and not poppy talentless crap) but I prefer punk and ska. favorite bands are below.

bands I like, in no order:

The God Awfuls
Tsunami Bomb (waaaaaahhhhhh I can't believe they broke up!!!)
The Clash
Against All Authority
The Vandals
Dead Kennedys
Bad Religion
NOFX
Streetlight Manifesto
Bandits of the Acoustic Revolution
Catch 22
Mustard Plug
Op Ivy
Flogging Molly
Choking Victim
Mighty Mighty Bosstones
Atom and His Package
The Briefs
Mad Caddies
Useless I.D.
Cinna the Poet (local band, check out their site: www.cinnathepoet.com freaking awesome reggae/punk type stuff)
Bouncing Souls
Fall Out Boy (guilty pleasure now...I liked them *way* before they were so popular, as cliche as it is to say that :P )

...'sall I can think of for now. Although I'd have to say The Clash, NOFX, and Streetlight are probably my top three faves, in that order.

I HATE Hawthorne Heights. Not only do they suck beyond belief IMO, but I met them at last year's(that's 2005) Warped Tour. And they were assholes. I wasn't a fan of them before that but the way they acted killed any drop of respect or like I might've eventually fostered for them.

[Fav. Quotes]

Cowardice asks the question, 'Is it safe?'
Expediency asks the question, 'Is it politic?'
Vanity asks the question, 'Is it popular?'
But conscience asks the question, 'Is it right?'

And there comes a point when one must take a position that is
neither safe,
nor polite,
nor popular,
but one must take it because one's conscience tells one that it is right.

Martin Luther King, Jr. (1929 - 1968)

Butt Prints in the Sand

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of the Goddess they were,
But mine were not along the shore.

But then some stranger prints appeared,
and I asked Her, "What have we here?
These prints are large and round and neat,
But much too big to be from feet."

"My child," She said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."

"You would not learn, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up,
And there I dropped you on your butt.

"Because in life, there comes a time
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

(that poem is so Aset!)

Do not stand at my grave and weep
I am not there,
I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow.
I am the diamond glints on snow.
I am the sunlight
On the ripened grain.
I am the gentle Autumn's rain.
When you awaken in the morning hush,
I am the swift uplifting rush
of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry.
I am not there.
I did not die.
My Spirit is still alive...
-- Hopi prayer (want it on my tombstone)

Those who dream by day are cognizant of many things, which escape those who dream only by night.
-Edgar Allan Poe

We must always take sides. Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormenter, never the tormented.
-Elie Wiesel, Holocaust survivor

The Legitimate powers of government extend to such acts only as are injurious to others. But it does me no injury for my neighbor to say there are 20 gods or no god. It neither picks my pocket nor breaks my leg... - Thomas Jefferson - Notes on Virginia

"Put it away, son. It's not worth you getting beat again." "You didn't beat me. You ignored the rules of engagement. In a fair fight, I'd kill you." "That's not much incentive for me to fight fair, then, is it?"

Stacia, on hell: "lol right up roasty toasty I like smores, I think I'm rather looking forward to it"

"Disce quasi semper victurus; vive quasi cras moriturus" [Learn as if you were going to
live forever; live as if you were going to die tomorrow.

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength,
Loving someone deeply gives you courage. - Lao Tzu

Be who you are and say what you feel because people who mind don't matter and people who matter don't mind.
-Dr. Seuss

The fates lead him who will. Him who won't they drag. - Seneca

A government is a body of people usually notably ungoverned. - Book

Jayne: You wanna go, little man?
Wash: Only if it's someplace with candlelight.

Jayne: And if wishes were horses, we'd all be eatin' steak.

Townsman: She's a witch.
Malcolm: Yeah, but she's our witch. *cocks gun* So cut her the hell loose.

(all from firefly...I could go on to list my favorites from Serenity, but that'd take too long :P)

I'd insult you, but you're not bright enough to notice.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade, pee in it, and serve it to the people that piss you off.

Or, from another school of thought(Ron White), "If life gives you lemons, you shuld make lemonade. And try to find someone whose life gives them vodka, and have a party."

I didn't attend the funeral, but I sent a nice letter saying I approved of it. - Mark Twain

If a person offends you, do not resort to extremes, simply watch your chance and hit him with a brick. - Mark Twain

I don't have an attitude problem. You have a perception problem.

My whole problem is my lips move when I think. - Calvin, of Calvin and Hobbes (my favorite comic)

Love your enemies, because your friends may turn out to be a bunch of bastards.

I may look weird but I'd kick your ass at Jeopardy.

Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, "Where the hell is the ceiling?"

Don't think of yourself as an ugly person. Think of yourself as a beautiful monkey.

"Once you can accept the universe as matter expanding into nothing that is something,
wearing stripes with plaid comes easy." - Albert Einstein

"You can dis all the fishes you want, but that doesn't mean you get to disown a shark!" - Levi

"Remember when we had that conversation yesterday about 'what the fuck are you talking about?'?" - Minkus

Andrew: "Yeah, and then what? You think after your little witch buddy kills us she's going to stop? You saw her, she's a truck driving magic mama. We've got seconds before Darth Rosenberg grinds everyone into Jawa burgers and not one of you bunch has the mediclorines to stop her. "

Andrew: "Pfft, illusions against the Burninator? Silly silly British man."

(yes, I like Buffy the Vampire Slayer. So sue me. Besides that, Andrew is one of the fucking best characters ever.)

Want to know why I hate the man(that'd be Bush, just felt like waiting 'til after the wikis)? Just take a look at these quotes for a few examples:

"I don't think that witchcraft is a religion. I wish the military would rethink this decision."*

"God told me to strike at al Qaida and I struck them, and then he instructed me to strike at Saddam, which I did, and now I am determined to solve the problem in the Middle East. If you help me I will act, and if not, the elections will come and I will have to focus on them."

"Either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

"This crusade, this war on terrorism is going to take a while."

*Comment about Wiccans in the military (yeah, way to be educated about one of the fastest growing religions in American, dumbass)
