It’s funny how language can obscure
An entire gender
Turned into nothing
The dichotomy always skewed
Defined in the negative
You always end up asking
Who? Man?

For My Soul Mate
If you ever wonder how I feel about you,
Look in the mirror.
In your reflection you'll see...
The person I want to spend my whole life with,
The one I love more than words can say,
The one who makes me happy,
The one I want to grow old with.
So if you ever have any doubt about who makes my life complete,
Look into the mirror and you'll see.

The Clumsy Sun
The clumsy sun spills light everywhere.
It stains the treetops,
splashes my sneakers,
puddles in the crimson window seat cushion.
I cradle some in cupped hands
and breathe deeply.

Glimpse the Unthinkable
I’ve seen time
Flowing in a reel
Slowing
Frame by Frame
Truth appears
Amongst the Vacant Lots
Amongst the Tears and Burns
Brilliant White
Gods.
Walking between the raindrops
Listening between thunderclaps
Feeling Nothing but
Platitudes and Bibles
And the water stops an inch above my skin
The shadows dance in lapse time
Momentarily Fleeting Reality
Flickering Euphoria
Stop Start
Cold moisture at my fingertips.
Long nights on my mind
Oblivion and omnipresence
Lightning in ¾ time
A streak of divinity
