Eden

Pretty eyes of blue,
Hair of a brownish hue,
So small and pink,
Didn't know what to think,
Gaze so curious and bright,
It could light up the night,
Fingers grasping,
Always asking,
Seeking to spend each day,
Learning in a whole new way,
A gorgeous gift,
My little Eden.

Will

You say, my son
It cannot be done
This statement is untrue
For you see, my son
It can be done
Just can't be done by you
You're lazy, my child
And your temper is wild
You have no path to follow
You see, my child
You have no desires
It is why your life seems hollow
You're wretched, young one
You give up before you've begun
You repeat your same mistake
You're hopeless, young one
You blame fate for the outcome
When it's only your life to make
So you say, my son
It still can't be done
So I'll repeat myself for you
You see, my son
That's how it is done
And why it can't be done by you

Master Puss & His Harp

Umbeset by meowing--olala!
Whiskers curl and crimp, ho!
Master Puss an'his harp, o'ah!
Where claws met chord--tada!

When 'is hiss howled new
and tail tickled air, he-ho!
a pusscats paw played on
Ha! feline wile soundin'igh!

O' master a'tish'n'thid--bravo!
Thy freckled back was bent
an' spangled gaze taut! oha!
'eard a-by nests, al'round--ah!

Mouses prancing nigh--o'my!
a'scurryin' whence the harperey
Petite eyes and footses comely,
hearsome to the gleestuff--no?

Thou clever moggy, a'game!
quit thy plucking an'chased,
Preened thy pads and yawnt
slumbered easily as thou supt!

Your Proof

Is this right? Here's your proof
The tendrils of inspired truth
That light up my darkened sky
As bright as your beautiful eyes
As open as your knowing smile
Your fingers so neatly filed
They press together, pull apart
My accordion mind, your kind heart

Life makes mysterious music
Just when we think we might lose it
It's found in unexpected corners
Scene change: to dancers from mourners
The answers hidden in the trees
Their seeking brought me to my knees
When I thought my path was forged alone
You'd had a plan I'd never known

My eyes are opening again
I see so much I didn't then
A child's sense of joy delivered
By an unexpected gifter

Is this right? Here's your proof
I've never been as fond of truth
The clouds have left my troubled sky
As clear as your understanding eyes
Shining like your inspiring smile
Inviting me to stay a while
Pressed together, not pulled apart
A settled mind, a peaceful heart
