"Nice place you got here." Theo says walking through the doorway. "Most places I've been lately were junk heaps with some cloaking devices."
"But they are the best places to be, aren't they?" Nova asked, walking in from behind him.
"I personally like the outdoors better but sometimes the situation does call for such." He said smiling turning to Nova. "I am Theo. May I ask your name?" He asked kindly.
"Call me Nova," she replied. "So, are you here to train?"
"That depends on what's trained around here" He said while looking around.
Noting his odd remark, she asked, "So, what weapon have you got there?"
"An ax I found on a dead guy and two swords I found logged in a plagues corpse." He said pointing to each of them hanging from the leather loops on his belt. "I'm not what you would call very high-tech"
"So I see. Are you atleast trained to use guns?"
"If it's the closest thing to me and I need something to fight I'll pick it up." He said confidently. He's basically trained himself on how to shoot since the war started.
"How anout getting you your own weapon? The Rebellion won't let you use those weapons," she commented, looking disapprovingly at them.
"These weapons have got abou two to three hundred kills each on them an I just got them yesterday. Besides, I find more people getting killed on ranged weapons because the enemies use mainly ranged attacks." He said half smiling.
"I never said you needed a ranged weapon, just something that is more reliable and less tiring to use. In one-on-one matches that might be true, but in an all-out-war, you will be first dead."
"The wars been going on for I don't know how long already and I've already survived about six or seven invasions with close ranged stuff like these heck some in even worse shape." He said thinking back. "But what do you have in mind other than the closest thing to me that can injure the closest enemy to me?"
"Do you prefer melee or ranged weapons?"
"I'm better with melee, my reaction time is better than my aim." He said without a second thought about it.
Thinking for a moment, she said, "Follow me." She walked to a section of the dome, and put her palm on it, and a door slid open, revealing a secret room.
"Spiffy." He said walking in behind Nova and looking around the room.
Inside was a collection of weapons and other items she had owned in the time as the commander of the Dark Knights. She no longer used them now... But... Showcased on the wall was a full set of Dark Knight armor, enchanted along with the broadblade set with blue jewels hanging beside it. "What do you think?"
Would he notice the magic? she wondered.
"My necklace seems to like it." He said as the crystal in his necklace started to spin in between the to gold rings. "It seems its got a bit of magic to it." He said after making sure no one was behind them. "You do know what I'm talking about right? Most people don't but I'd wager you do."
"I am assuming you know the tale from who ever gve the necklace to you. Yes, I have seen the magic, and witnessed its destruction. Seen what the humans brought down apon the world. I should not have let the elves leave that night. I could have killed ShadowStalker there and then! But I had to wait an watch as she led them to "a new world". And now look what has become of them now?" She replied, talking more t herself than to Theo.
"I kinda thought you where older than you look. You have the presence of someone far older about you." He said still looking at the sword taking into account its every detail.
Taking the sword off its resting place on the wall, she held it blade upwards. Without warning she lashed out with the weapon, practicing attacks and parries in the air with and unseen foe. Just as quickly as she had begun, she stopped, and tossed the sword to Theo.
Theo grabbed the sword at the handle despite that fact that it came at him blade first. He moved it around for a bit and said. "Nice, light, strong and sharp." He was smiling now. "Didn't you say something about you won't be supplying me with a weapon?"
"The Rebellion is currently low on supplies, but who said I wasn't?" Nova smiled in return. "I haven't used a sword for several centuries, but I am sure I haven't lost too much. Besides, I would like to see how the weapon suits you."
"and how are you going to see how it suits me. Throw me outside and wait for the plague to attack?" He said sarcastically as he reached into his rucksack pulled out a leather loop and put the loop on his belt and lastly put the sword through the loop adjusting te loop so that it would fit without the sword falling out.
Without a word in reply, Nova grabbed a weapon, a good-sized two-handed sword, and swung it at him, slow enough to allow him time to draw his own new weapon.
Theo pulled out the sword and stopped the attack effortlessly. "I know you can do better than that." He said bluntly.
"But I am testing you, not trying to knock off your head." Nova drew her sword back, and came in again with another, slightly faster cut coming diangonally from the left down.
Theo blocked the attack lazily saying, "Well I sure the plague would try to. Besides, I'm a good swordsman, I'm sure I can handle fast attacks." Then his necklace glowed faintly for a second although it was concealed inside his shirt but this signified his past fighter spirit coming back to him again.
"You better be right." Pivoting back a step, Nova rotated with blinding speed in a full circle, using the momentum of her blade to further the power in the attack. However, she slowed down considerably as the blow reached Theo. Slowed, yet faster and harder than the last attack.
Theo had already moved however and moved to the side of Nova and put his sword to her neck. "Flashy moves have their place," he said with a smile. Then he took his blade away from her neck and stepped back saying, "Ladies first."
One could have sworn they might have caught a faint trace of a smile on Nova's face. She thught briefly to herself, something that she had never before considered.
Must be growing old... Flashy tricks used to amuse others... At least until their head lay on the floor next to their body. Pulling back, she stood leaning on her blade. "How about Mister Speed shows me some of his tricks?"
"I may not know my last name but I'm sure it's not speed." He said as he stood with his blade ready. Then with amazing speed he swung at Nova although when she went to stop it he would turn his wrist to change the blades path then fluidly swinf the sword downward to touch Novas chest were her heart would be. It would just touch, net even enough to make even the smallest cut.
Nova swung her sword in a large arc, a move to both parry, and should the opponent be unable to hold the sheer force of the attack, continue onwards to serve as an attack.
When Nova blade hit his helet the sword drop a bit in angle but he kept a firm grip. This allowed Nova to have momentum but the forward push would go up the blades angle and thus her attack became Theo's way to break her defense then when her sword left contact with his where she would be most open he pushed his blade down and forward for a quick and precise stab that would stop inches before her juggular. Then remembering where Nova's weapond now was he, without stopping the stab, simply kept the stab going with one hand, still the same speed and control, stepped to the side of Nova and put his hand behind her so she wouldn't be able to back away from it.
A second before the blade would have dealt a fatal blow, Nova found a way out of the mess. Taking advantage of the fact that her blade rested on top of Theo's, she pushed down on his with her full weight, using it as leverage. She tucked in her knees, and leaning against the arm caging her in from the back, flipped over it backwards, the sword lifting to infront of her the moment she was in the air. As she landed, she let go of the weapon, allowing it to land with its tip cutting into the ground behind her.
When Nova used his arm to flip back he press forward and kept his blade going but stopped the upward and and instead kept it straight so it would still reach in inch infront of her juggular. He did need to take a quick and unnoticable step forward to reach and make more momentum. He didn't even stop when Nova let go of her weapon because she would stop the attack if she kept it. He had restraint enough to not hit her though.
Without a moment's hesitation, Nova used the last of her backward momentum to make a backwards dive roll to grab her weapon. Theo's blade missed her face by inches. Regaining both he weapon and her stance, she faced her opponent.
"Quick I see." Theo said with a smile. He had apperantly kept his whole stance through his string of attacks and had put his sword back into a defensive position while Nova was rolling back.
"Not bad yourself," Nova commented in turn. "So are swords your weapon of choice?"
"Yup, I like this size too." He said measuring it with his own bod. "It's what I'm used to."
"Then thats good. Now is the time to throw you with a horde of Plague and see how you do." Nova said with a smile.
