Chapter 2
The Amulet
As Dr Goodwin walks me down the hall, I noticed he was reaching into his pocket.
"Farseena this was given to me when you came here. Your mother gave it to me. She told me to give it to you when you awoke." He handed me the object. I looked at the object. It was a necklace with an Emerald pendent. I then jumped out of his arms and thought about being a human. I then felt the cat being ripped out of me, and there I was a human. I then sat on the floor and stared at the pendent. "Is there a problem Farseena?"
"No Dr Goodwin just trying to remember, remember what happened..." I sat there and stared at it some more and then I stood up and shouted
"I remember who I am! My name is Farseena, and my mother's name is Andrea! I remember Dr. Goodwin! I remember! Dr Goodwin just stared at me then he said,
"That is good Farseena As time goes on you will remember more. Dr Goodwin to your office please Dr Goodwin to your office please I hear over the loud speaker. I slide back down and sit on the floor with my back on the wall.
"Excuse me Farseena" I look up at Dr Goodwin and nod. I watch him as he fades away down the long hall. I then look back down and at the pendent. I study it hard. It was a shade of green. Then I got it! It was an emerald! My birthstone! "I was born on May 19, 1987! I remember who I am! "Dr. Goodwin!" I shout down the hall no answer. Where did he go? I asked my self. I start back down the hall just looking around. I then came to my room. I set the amulet on the stand next to my bed and then climbed into bed. I started to drift off to sleep. The next thing that I knew, I heard my name... I open my eyes and look to over my shoulder, it was Dr Goodwin.
"Farseena I heard you wanted to see me."
"Yes Dr. Goodwin, I remember. I remembered more after you left. The emerald, that is my birthstone... and I was born on May 19, 1987. So that would make me 18."
"That is good Farseena You are ready."
"Ready for what Dr Goodwin?"
"You are ready for the world again" I just looked at Dr Goodwin and then nodded. I felt that Dr. Goodwin was doing the best thing. If he knew that I was ready for the world again then I should be.
"I don't think I am ready for the world again Dr. Goodwin. I think I need more time at least until I remember more."
"Very well then, now go back to sleep, Farseena. You have a big day tomorrow. Tomorrow is the day your sister is going to come and see how you are doing." Dr Goodwin smiled at me as I crawled into my bed. I rolled over and I tried to sleep my mind kept wondering, if people would treat me diffenently.
