Name – Caius "Faustus" Ezio
Race – Human
Sub-race – Ravillan
Class – Hunter
Allegiance – A mutual agreement with the Nervan Empire
Appearance – Standing at 6’1 with a lean but muscular build, Faustus has a ruffian look to him. Like his race suggests, he has tanned skin and brown eyes. But his hair is also a lighter shade of brown, emphasized by the sun-streaked lines of blonde from days spent in Caerham. His hair isn’t really long, but couldn’t be called short either; instead it barely reaches to the bottom of his neck when pushed back. Faustus prefers to keep a somewhat clean appearance, but he also looks gritty with unshaven stubble and angular face.
In terms of clothing, Faustus likes to wear clothes that move freely. Though he also has a vain streak to him, so this usually means fashionable shirts rather than armour. When placed with who he is and where he is usually found, this strikes an odd contrast with his arrogant brawler character he likes to portray himself as. Also spending time in the wild made these once expensive silk shirts become a little travel worn and dirty; picture a noble who has lived in the wild for the past month. As for boots, they are light and soft for travelling as well as sneaking. To top off his attire he sometimes wears a conical shaped hat that flops over his eyes to shield them from rain or sandstorms. This is made mostly out of a thin leathery skin that is shaded a mahogany brown.
Age – 24
Personality – As his appearance suggests, quite cocky, greedy and arrogant and generally not a nice guy. By habit he is selfish, and far too concerned about himself to worry about others. Then again, if he is not in harms way he is much more willing to give aid. With that said, Faustus is a daredevil and always searching for a new thrill and a new way to get himself killed. Unfortunately, or fortunately he has survived most of the adventures he has been on. He lives free and without any rules, only the ones enforced by his morality, and he often ignores them.
Faustus can be tough to get along with since he has trust issues, and prefers solitude rather than groups. He prides himself on being a rough and tumble sort of guy that lives to fight and brawl. This said, Faustus isn’t bad at talking or thinking his way out of a situation, even if he acts incapable. Because of this and the fact he lies about himself on a regular basis gained him a small reputation as a con man and petty thief.
In direct contradiction to his surface personality, deep down Faustus isn’t that bad and does have some morality. Due to his past and rocky upbringing he despises abuse to children and hates killing innocent people, yet is also prone to violence and quick to anger. He prefers to take an apathetic view of the world, that it is really none of his business whether people are killing each other, as long as he is not involved. With a fragile conscience and extreme self-loathing Faustus deals with problems and guilt by drinking, drugs, fighting and taking risks. Another solution he has is to isolate himself from people and society, which led him down the path of the hunter.
History – Faustus, or Caius Ezio as he was originally called, has claimed many identities throughout his life. At the start of it all though, Caius was the bastard child to some notorious thief or something. His father never did play a part in his early life. They were not rich, but not really poor either and had a fairly comfortable life up to Caius’s 10th birthday. At this point his family were starting to fall apart. His father came into his life, and even at such a young age, the young Caius could tell he was not as sincere as he appeared. He had also discovered his father was involved in a heavier crime than theft, or at least his mother made it out that bad. And as a result his father’s anger was taken out on his mother, beating her to death one day. His father took whatever valuables he could find then left. Even after he had left, Caius remained hidden for another day then finally ventured out of his house. Still in shock, he had nowhere to go but the streets, becoming a reluctant thief. He made a decent thief using quick wit and charisma to lure people into false safety before deftly picking pockets. He started to walk the same path as his father.
Growing up, he honed his skill in hunting, thievery and conning. The same skills he had found had killed his family. Hearing bits of information from other thieves, he slowly gathered that his father had fled to the Tyla Desert. He spent his teens scavenging the cities for more information on the matter, and then finally received a name. Caerham. He became fairly wealthy with his thefts, at least to the level where he could live easily. Though he left any trace of his previous life when he went off travelling to the Tyla Desert. With a bitter irony he took up his father’s name, Faustus to remind himself of his task but as an act of self-loathing towards his tendency towards theft.
At the age of 18 he set off with a merchant caravan to Caerham and adopted the cover of a merchant. This seems ideal because of his greed but also his experience in thievery. Upon reaching the city of Caerham, he came up empty handed with any search for clues to his dad’s whereabouts. Eventually the word of a Ravillan man asking questions got to the Red Guard. Some followers of Nerva approached him and offered him a location in exchange for keeping an eye on the Caesean Empire. In short, they recruited him as a spy of sorts. Though he agreed to spy for Nerva, Faustus still hasn’t made a decision whether that bargain should or should not be kept as he still searches for his revenge.

Others – Has had a strange amount of luck, Faustus often likes to put it to use in gambling; just one of his bad habits.
