Before going straight to Koenma, the team first got Rika bandaged up at Kurama’s house. She was still unconscious as they took her to Koenma’s castle. “Ya think you hit her a little harder then you think, Kurama?” Kuwabara peeked over from the side. Kurama giggled a little as he looked over the side, “Probably…” As they reached the two giant double doors to the castle, they slowly swung open and Botan greeted them, “Hello everyone. Oh! I see Rika hasn’t woken yet.” “Yeah, the girl sleeps like a log.” Yusuke said. Botan scowled at him before saying, “Let’s bring her to Koenma’s office, shall we?” she smiled as she turned and began to trot into the castle. “Gee, she seems…cheerful….” Yusuke said with a sweat drop and they followed her in.
Once they reached Koenma’s office he frowned, “So she’s still asleep…” then he hoped out of his chair and walked over to Kurama. “No matter, we’ll just need to wake her up.” he tapped his little pointer on her head and a little sparkle of light came from out of it and into Rika’s head. Then she stirred and blinked and rubbed her head. Kurama set her down and she looked around, “Where?-” “Your in my castle, so I wouldn’t try anything funny.” Koenma said as he sat down. She steeped up to his desk then looked over her shoulder to Kurama, “Why didn’t you just kill me?” she asked as though annoyed, which made Kurama’s eyes go wide in surprise for a moment. Rika turned her glare back to Koenma, “So...are you going to imprison me again?” she said through the grit of her teeth. “No…your punishment is different, but not as severe as your thinking.” that made Rika’s eyes go wide with surprise and her mouth nearly dropped open. “Instead you will be tied to the living world. Not permitted to enter the Spirit or Demon world without permission straight from me, or in case of any emergencies. Don’t try to fake a situation to were you need to go to the demon world, I’d know anyway. Furthermore, you must work with Team Urameshi in any tournaments, missions, or other related situations.” Koenma explained. Rika glared, “You mean, I have to be on their little so-called-team?” Rika looked back at them. “That’s correct. Any complaints are not acceptable, and if you refuse you can always work for me and be tied to this little castle and nothing more.” Koenma said. Rika’s teeth were showing at this point, “Fine…I’ll be on their ‘team’.” she looked over her shoulder to them, “Listen, don’t bug, touch, talk, or go near me and we’ll get along just fine.” after that followed ‘yeah, sure’ ’very well’ ’fine with me’ ‘whatever….’ Rika smirked and their conversation was over.

And to Rika’s dismay and reluctance, she has become a new member to the Urameshi team. A member they won’t soon forget.

Later that evening, Rika was walking through the city streets dressed in a sleeveless black dress with a red jewel encrested on the chest and matching long black gloves with turquoise encrested jewels on the back of her hands. She also wore black high-healed shoes underneath the dress. She had let her hair down out of the pony tail.
Rika suddenly stopped, sensing someone behind her, “What do you want? I told you to keep away from me. Just because we have to work together doesn’t mean we have to like each other.” “I understand you do not wish to have contact with me or anyone else on the team…I just thought I would offer you a place to stay. You could live with me at my-” “No! I hate you enough as it is, brother. You think I’d want to live around you? Besides, I prefer the out doors.” Rika said. Kurama smiled, “I thought so…” then he walked up to her as she turned around. He put his hand out. Rika cocked an eyebrow as she stared at his for a moment. Then she took his hand, and they shook hands. Then Rika let go, turned slightly, and disappeared. Kurama looked into the sky with a smile, “I hope to see you soon, sister…”

The End

Hitaikakushi- The white triangle-shaped headband Rika is wearing on her head in this pic. A traditional headpeice worn by ghosts, the hitaikakushi is used to adorn the dead during Buddhist funerals, and was originally intended to protect the deceased from evil spirits. Rika's expression of sticking her tongue out is a parody of typical 'sinister ghost' expressions, including sticking out of the tongue (female ghosts often have some threads of black hair hanging down in their mouth, a triditional sign of insanity)Which Rika doesn't have in this pic since she's not insane.
Hitodama- The small ghostly flames, like will-o'-wisps, sometimes seen around Rika. Called hitodama (human spirits) or hi no tama (fireballs), these flames are believed to be small flamesh.
(you might have read this in volume 1 of the YYH manga in the back)
