Christine - Scout
Good Bond
“You must be a little tired, Scout. Do you want to take a break?”
Scout let out a little laugh, glancing over his shoulder at his sister whom he was carrying on his back. “Ha! You think I’d give up? Raif told me I had to do some more training… This is perfect.” His beaming face turned back to the hiking trail and he moved quickly over the part that was crumbling under the hot sun.
He was dressed for hiking—and his dirty boots and the sweat the gleamed on his skin only seemed fitting. Christine, however, was dressed in a flowing white dress, white stockings, pretty black shoes and a large white sun-hat. She looked like she should be lounging outside somewhere sipping lemonade. It was rather a funny thing to behold.
Scout, however, being told he needed to do some more training to help him become a better Sage, had worked up a fabulous idea. He decided to bring his sickly, weak sister up to one of his favorite spots. She was unable to stay on her feet for very long and Scout knew that his older sister would probably never get the opportunity to gaze from one of the highest cliffs staring out at the glorious landscape surrounding Aurora City.
It was practically an excuse to give the sweet young woman a chance to be outdoors and to witnesses the gifts the goddesses had bestowed upon their world. It was entirely too unfair that she was always confined indoors or needed to be escorted short distances.
So, here he was, hiking up one of the most difficult trails with a woman resting on his back. Scout, however, couldn’t complain. Whenever he glanced over his shoulder he could see his sisters glowing face—she was happy to see the outdoors. The garden was about as far as she ventured to the outdoors. There were far too many new sights, smells and sounds that she had never had the luxury of being around. It was like watching a little child learn to walk for the first time. Every experience was beautiful and cherished. It… almost sad to watch.
“Scout… Did you really want to do this for your training, or for me?” Christine ventured quietly. Her arms were wrapped loosely around her brother’s neck, but even so Scout felt a little like she was suffocating him—probably because he was a little embarrassed. He wasn’t one to admit he had any weaknesses—esp
ecially not for his sisters.
“Well…” Much to his delight, they came to the top of the trail and a clearing appeared. “Great, we’re here! I can’t wait to show you…” He crouched down, letting the little woman slip off his back. He offered her his arm and delicately she took it. “I promise, you’ll love this.”
Despite herself, she gasped when she let her eyes finally take in the splendid scene below her. As far as they eye could see were rolling hills practically swollen with copious amounts of trees. There was a mist hanging over the valley that played with the watchers eyes, and Christine swore she could make out little animals running through a clearing some distance away. There were pools of glistening lakes, and were the valley dipped the further rolling clouds of mist swirled mysteriously. Then fresh scent of pine hit her and she let out a soft, appreciative sigh.
“Oh... Scout, it’s so beautiful.”
“I thought you’d might enjoy it. I thought maybe you’d like it for reference… you know, for your paintings?”
She looked at him, a little startled, and then tears began to form in her eyes. “Oh, how sweet… Yes… I think that would be most beautiful of an idea.”
She was always painting—sometimes scenes she saw in her visions that really had no clairvoyant-like value, but were just beautiful in general. Sometimes when she read she would try to think of something stunning in her own imagination and then paint that… But this… this was so perfect—beauty that only nature could offer. No amount of creativity could possibly rival Mother Nature herself…
…Nonetheless, Christine would offer her little brother a painting that. No matter how hard he tried, Scout could not escape the eerie perfection of how she had captured that moment the two had stood staring quietly at those misty hills. Almost like she had desperately clung to the memory.
He made it a habit to bring his sister back to view the same stretch of land for every season.

A/N:Story bond 11/81 I'm working on for a project.
This was pure torture to write. There's nothing about it I like. I may end up re-doing their story bond in the future since... it's so short and I was completely undedicated to it. They were very difficult to think of scene together.
I'm so annoyed with myself right now I don't even know what to write about them. Let's see..
Scout, he's stubborn, but he's also really kind to people. He gets mad at himself if he can't do something correctly, but he's usually pretty patient with people. He has a pretty soft spot for family.
Christine isn't spacey, but she's always weak and sickly so she doesn't really get out of the house very often. You can probably imagine that she was taken to this spot without permission by their parents. Yami, I'm sure, would have a fit since he wasn't there to make sure nothing went wrong, but Kaelin would probably think it was very sweet and considerate of Scout... so yeah.

Moving onward, I'm sorry, Scout, Christine... but you two were so damn hard to write together.
