Starboon Family Story Bonds

I am working on a project where I have taken all 15 characters of my main family and have sorted out what sort of bonds they all have in relation with each other. The bonds go from Strong, Good to Weak. I sorted out all of the weak bonds since I figured it'd be very difficult to write a short story with two characters who do not connect in any shape or form and can't possibly have any sort of development together. In total I have 81 bonds to write.

I'm doing this project so I can learn to know my characters more. I don't want to just be someone who has a family of 15, but only a handful of the characters are developed, and so, a project was born. Here is the family, from oldest to youngest (but I won't put the ages since the ages in the stories are changing often).

1. Flouresce - Trinity April 21st, 2009
She was a pretty girl, quiet and reserved in her own right. Her long flowing white dress was the same color as her perfectly straight shoulder-length hair, with bangs pinned to the right with an adorable little pink butterfly clip. She had a certain elegance about her and the distant look on her face made it seem as though she were entertaining some wonderfully philosophical thoughts that no one could dare to rival. She was soft, delicate, dreamy… and so completely and utterly distant. It was almost as if the world around her didn’t exist. It was sometimes frightening to behold her.
2. Flouresce - Aeres April 23rd, 2009
“Wow, really?” Flouresce let out a long, hard laugh, burying her face into one hand as she continued to laugh obnoxiously loud. It was all she could do as a Professor—laugh when the stupidity of her students rang most loudly. She was a good Professor, she knew that. Though not all her students were good students. That was frustrating, but also oh-so funny. She once again re-read the answer to one of her questions, “What was the universally accepted turning point in the Second World War?”
3. Vincent - Trinity April 25th, 2009
Vincent wasn’t always sure why he always returned here first, but Kaelin was always delighted that he did. The man had a certain energy that the plants around him absorbed. Even though Kaelin took the utmost care of the garden, whenever Vincent finished working in it everything seemed to bloom twice as beautiful. It was a strange thing, but he was pleased by it.
4. Yami - Amethyst April 26th, 2009
It was quiet—then again, why shouldn’t it be? It was late, very late. Most people were snuggled up in their beds at this hour dreaming beautiful dreams that they wouldn’t remember in the morning when they awoke…

6. Raif - Yami April 27th, 2009
He looked kind of silly with dozens of rolled up parchments tucked under his arm. Though this was not an uncommon sight—Yami Starboon was often bringing calculations, documents and other things to his elder brother—King Ankei.
7. Trinity - Miles April 27th, 2009
She spotted him, a hunched over, miserable looking thing among all the blankets he had wrapped around himself as he sat silently, staring out the window. The white shock of his hair was about all she could make out, but even so she knew it was her little brother, Miles. She could hear his thoughts, jumbled, hurt and upset echoing through his mind. She felt his tortured emotions, his confusion. It was painful.
8. Sierra - Miles April 28th, 2009
She was a lot more fierce than she looked. She moved with ease, grace and power that belied her small frame and pretty face. It was like she was floating, her feet never seemed to touch the ground and her fingers, spinning about the training staff, were locked hard, slightly scuffed, but still somehow feminine.
9. Vyse - Yami April 29th, 2009
Somewhere off in the distance he could hear the annoying chatter of an angry squirrel. It was probably mad that it had been caught in the rain, kind of like him. In fact, when he had left his manor, in a fuming fury that caused even sweet Miles to steer clear of him, it had, in fact been barely even overcast.
10. Flouresce - Christine May 1st, 2009
Christine’s voice rose higher to hit notes that seem impossible for any mortal to hold so perfectly, but perfectly she did. It was a strong melody, gentle, flowing, slowly building up and letting her voice rise and fall in a way that seemed entirely too beautiful.

“You must be a little tired, Scout. Do you want to take a break?”
12. Flouresce - Amethyst May 7th, 2009
He wasn’t alone very often. He didn’t like being alone, it made him feel inadequate—forgotten… unloved. Amethyst continued down the hallway, moving in a way that showed he was in quite a hurry to get somewhere—but the fact of the matter was, Amethyst had no idea where he was going. He was just searching for someone. Desperately. It did not show in his face how terribly uncomfortable he was, but on the inside he was a mess.
13. Scout - Amethyst May 9th, 2009
Scout leaned over to cup the cool water into his hands. He stood ankle deep in the gentle lake with his pants rolled up to his knees. His shoes, discarded long ago were lying by the bank sprinkled with sand. The blue-haired young man splashed the water in his hands onto his face and let out a happy sigh and then straightened fully. He grinned broadly up at the blue sky above, enjoying the warmth of the sun on his skin and the cool breeze that tickled his wet face and neck.

Vincent scribbled hastily on the parchment he was leaning over. He was getting there… he knew that he was slowly making progress towards this possible new medicine. There was this new herb he had recently stumbled across—and the potential it held was endless. It was the dosage… the dosage he couldn’t quite get that right. What had he used before to mix with it? How much had it been again?

It was a beautiful day to be out on sea. The sky was blue, the clouds were wispy white trails above and the sea gulls were bellowing obnoxiously as usual around the ship’s sails. The sea was calm, but even so the ship still rocked sluggishly with each little dip of the ocean. Despite the sparkling sea as far as the eye could see, one particular man seemed to not be very interested in the glistening blue at all.

It wasn’t always pleasant being able to read minds. In fact, she wasn’t really all too fond of it. The problem wasn’t that she particularly minded knowing others secrets, it was just shutting up others thoughts that grew cumbersome. It was almost like her mind unwillingly tuned in on others thoughts and when it got a clear signal they were stuck in there for hours, sometimes days. And usually it wasn’t just one clear signal at a time—and there was always a handful of bad signals. It was like listening to whispers all day long. It… could drive a person insane.

Aeres let out another painful cough that wracked her whole body with a terrible ache. She could feel her head pulsating each time her heart beat and the pain was making her feel disoriented.

It wasn’t often that the Academy was closed so abruptly. However, the intense rainfall had turned many of the dirt trails leading into the city into calf-deep muddy rivers. Supplies in the city had begun to dwindle and the Academy had decided it could no longer continue to stay open on such a short budget. So for the next four days the Academy would be closed for sure—and the administration could only pray that the rain would stop and the roads would be able to reopen. The students, for the most part, didn’t seem to mind the short-notice vacation
25. Vincent - Kaelin June 27th, 2009
He looked a lot like his father. Some would say that would good, most would say that was just plain bad luck. It wasn’t that his father was bad-looking or carried a notorious criminal record (even though his was quite long), it was simply that he held the traits of a demon. Traits that had passed on to him, leaving a near mirror-like image of father and son.
26. Raif - Christine July 12th, 2009
Christine didn’t get out much—especially not unescorted. It wasn’t because she got into trouble, or that trouble found her… it was simply because her delicate body and absent-mindedness often lead her to becoming lost. She also had this annoying habit of fainting dead away with little warning. She couldn’t go very far alone… and yet, even this kind-hearted woman needed to get away from her family every once in a while. She loved them dearly… but still.
27. Sierra - Kaelin July 21st, 2009
Kaelin was probably the best baker Sierra knew. It most likely had a great deal to do with the fact that Kaelin’s mother owned her own bakery back in his hometown of Flanaria. Kaelin had grown up working in the bakery during his free time and the result ended with the pretty-blond spoiling his family rather often with sugary baked goods. No mood would deter Kaelin from picking up a whisk and digging his hands into flour—he was always in the mood to bake.
28. Vincent - Yami July 27th, 2009
The two sat side-by side with their legs crossed and outstretched on the iron stool that had little realistic ivy-designs along the sides. It was overcast outside but rather humid and warm. The animals didn’t seem to mind the weather too much and continued about unworried. A family of chattering ducks were eager to wander into the koi fish pond. Six little ducklings swam in a tight group behind their attentive mother and father. The koi fish below were bright and colorful—around them swam smaller little goldfish that nipped playfully at the surface. All in all, it was a rather peaceful afternoon.

It was times like these—shaking, annoyed and helplessly lost with angst that he was glad he knew when his breaking point was and when he should retreat from his friends and family. He hated being mad, but it was something he just couldn’t help. When someone disagreed with him he was liable to snap back rudely. A mere speculation of the weather could end up in a fistfight. Vyse simply just didn’t know what battles to fight and which ones to just let alone.
30. Edward - Miles August 17th, 2009
“I don’t know how you do it.” Edward ran his sleeve across his sweaty forehead and gave his younger brother a disbelieving stare. He laughed suddenly, charmingly. “Seriously, Miles. I’m dying and I don’t have any of that stuff.”
31. Vincent - Sierra August 20th, 2009
“Curious, don’t you think?” Vincent tilted his head at his sister. Sierra looked at him, one perfect eyebrow arched in question. “How of Father’s five biological children, four bare his hair color and only one his eyes.” Vincent looked away from her, frowning slightly. He had been the one to receive both hair and eye color. Edward, one of his two fraternal siblings, didn’t even have the slightest resemblance to Yami. At least Aeres had the black locks to vouch for her. Edward… Edward was everything Yami was not.
32. Trinity - Kaelin August 23rd, 2009
He held her hand the same way he had when she had first been taken home to their then-residence in Aurora City. He had held her hand gently, but firmly. He had held her sisters hand too. It still gave that same sense of protectiveness and comfort that she remembered all those years ago. The moment she and her sister had been adopted they had been adopted with every intention of being loved and raised as his own child. His fatherly devotion had been present even before she had really even known him.

He was pretty happy that he was only swinging around a practice weapon. Otherwise… this could have been a lot worse.
34. Christine - Kaelin September 28th, 2009
“Papa?” Christine called quietly. Kaelin directed his attention absently towards her, still chewing unconsciously at the end of his thumbnail. Christine had been watching him fidget for the last few minutes and she could only assume that he had something on his mind. This something probably had to do with something about her. She didn’t need to be able to read minds like her sister to know that. “Papa…” Christine said again, more gently. Her frail little hands reached out to slowly pull the blondes hand away. Kaelin suddenly looked embarrassed as he realized what he had been doing. “What’s wrong, Papa?”
35. Vincent - Miles September 29th, 2009
It was one of this things that he did so naturally—and beautifully so. It was strange how such masculine hands that were often on the fierce end of a weapon could also be at the end of a talent so wonderfully gentle that it was hard to think of these hands capable of doing such completely opposite things.
36. Vincent - Christine October 31st, 2009
She was soft, gentle—probably one of the most beautiful—and delicate— things in the world. He loved to listen to her sing—and although there was a certain soft quality to it—it was most certainly an amazingly gifted voice. It was always surprising how that little body could project so many beautifully powerful notes. No song was too difficult for her to master. She did it was such ease, such joy. He was glad that there was something that made her happy
37. Perry - Kaelin December 14th, 2009
“Come on now, give me your hand,” Kaelin said gently. With a graceful motion his feet curved across the ice on the blades and he came to a gentle stop in front of his pouting son, one gloved hand outstretched patiently. Perry sat with arms crossed, fuming. Although Kaelin had begged him enough to get him to put on the ice skates, Perry could only humor him so much

“Father?” Miles spoke suddenly, surprising both himself and his father reading quietly beside him. Yami blinked once before looking to his son expectantly. Miles waited a moment, before he finally spoke. He sounded unsure of himself, “What do you think happens after we die?”
39. Raif - Amethyst February 2nd, 2010
The moonlight glittered off the black expanse of ocean and left streams of silver to guide the ships docking and undocking from Aurora City port. The sky was cloudless and every star offered itself as a loyal guide. Though, one did not have to be a sailor to admire the beauty befalling the city tonight. The wind was gentle and warm as it blew the pleasantry of the sea into the city. Standing in one of Aurora Castle’s many balcony’s stood two men, leaning dreamily against the railing as they admired Nor’s wondrous starlight.
40. Aeres - Perry February 13th, 2010
It was the stare-down of all stare-downs. They were so alike, but so different. Their differences often brought them to such stalemates. For Aeres, a well-placed jab would declare her victor, and for Perry, startling his older sister into silence was his declaration.
41. Christine - Yami February 28th, 2010
He was leaning heavily on one hand, glasses slightly pushed up to one side, eyes glossy, mouth parted slightly. His quill was held lazily in one hand while the ink dripped unnoticed on the parchment it hovered over. Yami’s mind was wandering and no matter how hard he kept trying to reel it back and focus, it just simply outright refused.

Note: I do encourage feed-back. If some things aren't clear, I may be able to explain them. Sometimes you just can't go over past history with each character so if you don't understand something and want to, I'll be happy to try and explain it. Many of the characters haven't been developed much and so the style of writing/depth isn't what I'm use to writing, but my hope is as I use the characters more and offer explanations for the way they act and interaction then I can develop better personalities for them.
