Shana Grace Tilar
User Name: [
Figgy]
Character name: Shana Grace Tilar
Mutant Name: Metamorph
Affiliation: MLA
Abilities/powers: Shana can manipulate materials and substances to fuse with parts of or her whole body on contact. The substance, however, must be something that is normally not poisonous or harmful to her bare touch (i.e. she cannot fuse with fire, electricity, acids, bases, poisons, etc.). She can also adjust the shape of the substance in/on her body, according to its attributes (ex. using glass or plastic to sharpen points on her body, like fingertips, knuckles, elbows, etc.), and the state of matter of the portion of her body that is fused becomes the same as that substance she is fused with (if she fuses with water, she becomes a free-moving liquid).
Over the years, Shana has learned to push herself further and her powers have developed more: Now, she no longer has to 'fuse' each time with the materials she is wielding in order to mimic their properties, but she can simply touch them, and after having fused with them once before, the girl can replicate the properties of almost any substance (still not with those that could harm her, however) throughout her entire body. Even more, she has learned to control her breathing better, so she can last quite a bit longer than before in different states, up to ten minutes before she needs a break.
Sex: Female
Age/Date of Birth: 27, August 8
General appearance: Shana has chopped off most of her hair into a short messy faux hawk, the locks of which used to be blonde now a shiny silver because of a reaction her body had with long exposure of some adamantium she acquired. She is 5'7" now and wears a bit more muscle from her intense training over the years. Her eyes are still a bright cerulean, standing out more now against her tanned skin and silver hair.
Additional Appearance: In addition to the star tattoo she has had on her left cheek for years, Shana has added several more smaller stars leading over her cheek bone and up past her brow, fading into her hair line. She still has two tiny dermals on her right cheek, she wears a nose stud constantly now, and she has recently pierced her left eyebrow. She also has three piercings in each ear lobe, and one cartilage piercing on her left ear. In addition to her myriad of facial piercings, the girl has acquired several more tattoos, decorating many parts of her body. Up her right arm runs a colorful sleeve, depicting various flowers and undersea images, such as a giant red squid that sits on her shoulder with its tentacles wrapped around her upper arm, and lots of blue colors. This piece connects with her chest piece, which reads "Metamorph" in black, intricate text from one end of her collar bone to the other. Across the upper half of her back, over her shoulder blades, is a tattoo that reads, as quoted by Malcolm X, "The price of freedom is death."
Personality: Although Shana used to be a bouncy, bubbly, upbeat and outgoing girl, she has slowly progressed over the years into a more serious person with a much more hardened personality, the biggest change occurring when she found out the truth about her 'parents'. The girl is blunt and straightforwar
d, harsh, even. Now she is only focused on her goals of attaining mutant freedom, through whatever means necessary, and will take any challenge head-on. She is even willing to face off against anyone who would oppose her purpose, not even batting an eyelash before taking them out. However, this does not mean that she does not show loyalty and kindness to those she still considers her friends and allies.
Special Skills: Shana has become more lithe with her body and more skilled at hand to hand combat. She has also learned to wield a large blade.
Place of birth: Before, Shana believed her birthplace to be in Miami, Florida, but she learned some years ago that she was 'born' right here in New York.
Weapon(s) of choice: Sturdy and long machete, approximately 2 feet in length and four inches across at its thickest point, that Shana had personally crafted out of some of the adamantium that she found. A small insignia decorates the weapon, engraved letters along the blade that read "Metamorph".
Medical information: Shana now bears a large scar diagonally across her stomach, from an attempt to take her life by one of the X-Men in previous years.
Brief History: Shana only knew of her history what her foster parents have told her. Supposedly, the naturally black-headed girl was born one of a set of fraternal twins to a happy couple in Miami. At only a few months of age, Shana's parents were killed in a head-on car collision with a drunk as they were coming back from a night out. Shana and her sister had been left with a baby-sitter that night, and with no other family alive, they were brought to an orphanage. Shana's sister, Light, was almost immediately adopted out to a couple who were unable to take both children, and because they were too young to be close, it was allowed. Several months afterwards, Sana was adopted by a wealthy, middle-aged couple, who opted not to change her last name. Shana was cared for and given the best home and education she could ask for, and even when her powers developed at age 10, her parents were completely understanding, and mostly worried for her safety. It only took them a matter of months to find Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters, and the girl was immediately off to her new school, where she's been ever since (visiting her parents for every family holiday and occasionally during the summer breaks).
Later, after a rescue mission at the mansion, Shana found information on her birth parents, and what she discovered were things that changed her view on her own life, who she was, and it hardened her. She confronted her adoptive parents later about it, and although they explain and apologized, Shana still felt betrayed, and lessened her communications with them. She soon put full effort into protecting the mansion alongside Vlad and Flame, but as things began to spiral downhill, she began to question the motives of her two companions.
Upon witnessing several incidents that were lead and directed by the X-Men, one of which was the child-slaughtering fiasco in which Daniela was involved, Shana confronted Vlad and Flame in an attempt to change them from their course of action, but they were not swayed. Disgusted, she left the mansion alongside Dani, joining the MLA without hesitation. There, she quickly made her way up the ranks, with credibility as a former leader of the X-Men and lots of inside info, after gaining the trust of her fellow mutants and humans alike. Seeing how quickly Shana became an influence, and how great of an influence she was, the X-Men acted quickly, sending a team of mutants, one of which was Lirerial, to attempt to assassinate her. She put up a strong fight but sustained a dire injury to her abdomen, and thanks to her teammates, who fought off/killed the attackers, she was able to get to the Doc. quickly and was saved. Now, she receives orders from The Guide and helps to pass them along to her subordinates and allies, occasionally leading missions and attacks.
Relatives: Her adoptive mother and father, who she managed to send off safely to a small, upscale ville in France (though she has lost communication with them since); Light Blackburn, her sister, who, shortly before the riots broke out, disappeared, presumably leaving for safety, along with her boyfriend Shade and their child; Mimic, her younger brother who went missing after she and Daniela left the X-Men for the MLA.
