EOD SOUTH SPRAWL

The south sprawl is the most heavily populated area left in the wasteland, thousands live cramped in a small area, all that is left of the millions that lived in NYC before the bombardment. The south sprawl is populated by humans and mutants in equal measure, and it is almost entirely civilian in nature. It is here that most of the caravans coming from the coast peddle their wares in exchange for what little money people have. Life is tough, but after 6 years, it has began to normalize and at least in the sprawl, people feel safe from the dangers of the waste and surrounding ruined city. The market is usually set up around what is known as the Dead End Diner, an old free standing cafeteria that used to be on the edge of the park, ran by a human named Carlos. Further north is The Clinic, where one of the Speakers, Doc. Mullen, offers whatever help he can to the people who succumb to the many illnesses prowling in the sprawl. The doc is, ironically, entirely funded by the prostitution rings that have began to prop up around The Clinic, which allows him to offer his services for free.

X-Men EoD Time

Wednesday, August 13th

Shield walked down the makeshift central street, after a few years, she had gotten used to this small town where she know greeted the former wastelanders she met as she walked away from her home. The girl nodded to an old couple who lived in a tent next to her, her hair bobbing up and down slightly as she did. The girl was wearing her dark leather eyepatch, a discolored black tank top and a pair of tan colored shirts. The couple had lost two of their sons during the bombardment, and their youngest to a raider attack two years ago, and still they carried on. Yawning, the girl stretched her arms towards the sky, her tank top lifting a bit and revealing her belly button for a few seconds. Needless to say much of Daniela's shyness from 9 years ago was gone by now. Mid yawn, her stomach began to grumble in protest, the girl had not had a decent meal since she left the mansion, or what was left of it, but nevertheless had to eat. "I guess it's down to the Diner..." she muttered to herself, gently scratching the side of her chin as she looked around, trying to orient herself. Sometimes it seemed like the sea of shacks and tents shifted and changed every day, thought the girl while walking in the general direction of the EoD Dead End Diner.

There was a huge difference between the north and south sprawl. The Rook wasn't as feared in the north sprawl because the MLA militants knew that he was on their side. Here, in the south sprawl, however, those who walked by eyed him warily, looking at the short Asian and the sword he carried with suspicion. Only the small children didn't look at him in such a manner. So Rook passed through to the EoD Dead End Diner as quickly as possible.

It never failed. If Shana ever passed through the wall to come to the South Sprawl, she was bound to get looks from everyone, curious gazes from children, a few scared looks from their mothers who noticed her giant blade, and of course ogling stares from men and boys alike. As the girl came through from the Wall today, she even got a few cat calls from the less civilized of the group. Luckily, the walk to her best friend's shack was short, as she was about an equal distance away from the wall as Shana was on the other side. Veering to the right, Shana approached the little aluminum shack, and reaching up, knocking two times, then once more, on her old roommate's door. Getting no answer, the silver-haired character pushed the door open slightly, just enough to peek in a find that no one was home. Shana let the door close again, and she stood still for a moment, contemplating whether she wanted to walk all over the South Sprawl just looking for her friend. She decided it best to try, considering the fact that she hadn't checked on Shield in a few days. With a sigh at the knowledge that she would have to endure an even longer and more annoying walk amongst some of the MLA filth, Shana headed away from the shack, walking the long distance down the worn, makeshift roads of the camp. After a good fifteen minute trek and a strong will to keep from knocking out a few of the more mouthy men, Shana finally made it to EoD Dead End Diner, and after a quick glance through the door, she stepped inside.

As Lucas entered the South Sprawl, all eyes turned to him. He wasn't exactly popular in the south. He moved quickly, turning his head to look for any familiar faces, but his eyes were only met by scared citizens, most human. They were all on the same side of course, but news of the brotherhoods violence crossed the wall as easily as he had done. He knew better than to stop as the crowd thickened to get a look at him, he was sure to get lost amongst the hustle of the early morning. After making his way through the ever thickening populace, Lucas finally made it to the front of the EoD Dead End Diner. He took a glance into a window and spotted who he was looking for, before opening the door and entering.

Later, Lucas exited the diner, not breaking his stride to get his bearings, he stormed towards the EoD The Wall.

With his head buzzing, belly full, and body numb from the moonshine Justin strolled out of the diner and made his way to the EoD The Wall. "Now this is how i like it, im functional but cant feel the pain." He mumbled happily, absent mindedly rubbing the scar that ran the length of his neck.

Daniela stepped out of the EoD Dead End Diner, not exactly satisfied, but at least not hungry anymore. Knowing she'd need one of the guys to get through the wall, she noticed Justin off in the distance and tried to catch up to the man on his way to EoD The Wall.

A few seconds after Dani left the diner, The Rook reappeared, walking slowly towards the wall with his eyes focused on the ground. He let out a huff of air before looking up and spotting what was happening at the EoD The Wall and speeding up his step to help Dani.

Halo stepped out of the EoD Dead End Diner, and her long stride was confident as she wended her way through the shantytown. The sheen of perspiration present on her brow inside the diner had now grown heavy enough that it flowed in little rivulets down her face, neck and the area of exposed collar bone just above her bust. Unfortunately, Halo's clothes didn't breathe as well as some of the denizens of the sprawl, with consideration to the fact they were a high-tech polymer that was resistant to her power, so she was basically shrink-wrapped in a semi-shiny dark grey plastic. While she didn't have to walk around in the nude on the chance she had to use her power, they certainly didn't have a bit of natural fiber content in them, either nor were they exactly loose-fitting. A few minutes after Rook made his way toward EoD The Wall, Halo did the same.

Shortly after Halo, Shana reemerged from the tiny restaurant, walking calmly along the long trail that lead back to The Wall that separated the North from the South. She still wore her trademark scowl, though her gait seemed more tense than before. Ignoring the ever-present cat-calls and obscene gestures in her direction, Shana continued along the makeshift road until she passed through to Eod The Wall.

"Lets get this done Rook" Justin clapped and rubbed his hands together in anticipation. He started to focus, picking up on sounds and small movements, doing his best to read his surroundings and memorizing the landscape as he went in order to prepare for danger. It was a little something he picked up on in training from someone who was far better at it back in his younger days. He shook off the memory trip to focus as they approached the exit.

The Rook didn't say anything as he followed, only nodded slowly. He was more than ready to finish this task and get back home as soon as possible. There was only one task and the sooner they completed it, the sooner they could get back and away from the Brotherhood. Walking towards the southern most edge of the Sprawl, Rook looked around, catching a face here and there, but overlooked most of them.

As the pair approached the edge of the Sprawl and what used to be Central Park, they noticed their tattooed mutant companion, Corpsefire, already waiting there. The girl was sitting rather nonchalantly on an old, beat up ATV that seemed to have undergone some extensive modifications. Behind her was another one of the machines, this one with slightly uneven tires and a bloodstained american football helmet as a frontal piece. "Your chariot is here chicklins." grinned the woman with a wink. "One of yous is gonna have to ride with me though, we have a long road ahead." before picking the guys up and heading out woards the Wastes

Not even letting Warp answer first, The Rook took a few steps towards Corpsefire's ATV. "I will ride with you. I do not know how to drive." That was true enough. Despite the years spent training, he had no idea how to work an ATV. Plus he really didn't want Justin pressed so close to the body he was eyeballing so blatantly. Stepping up to her ATV, he glanced back at Warp. He would have rather rode with Justin, but then the tattooed woman might say something.

With a slight sigh of disapproval Justin reluctantly nodded to the arrangement and approached the ATV. He gave it the twice over look making sure its was a step shift transmission and four wheel drive. "Just like back in the country. I haven't been on a four wheeler in a long minute." In just a hop and a leg swing he was up and starting the ATV, giving it a rev as he felt the engine rumble. "This is starting to look like a bit of fun." With a spray of dirt he shot off to EoD: Brotherhood Staging Grounds.

The others in the area gave Sasaiya a fairly decent berth. This wasn't because she was mean or threatening in anyway, it was just that she'd been around long enough for them to know that she liked being left alone, though the sight of watching her turn into a massive, prehistoric man-eater certainly didn't hurt. As she neared EoD The Wall, Sasaiya gave a nod to the guards, stopping a few yards shy from them.
